I stopped in today after finding out about Jake's on TikTok and I'm glad I did! I went with a friend and we're sat immediately for brunch. The restaurant itself needs a little TLC, especially on the building's facade. The inside is cute old timey diner. Our waitress was very kind- attentive but not overbearing and made sure that we were comfortable. We were given two menus (breakfast and lunch) and the choices seemed endless. They even had specials on a white board. I ended up ordering a tea and the crabby man special. This special had a crab cake, bacon, eggs, toast, and homefries! All for $11.50. You can't beat that price. The crab cake was made with imitation crab but it was still delicious. I liked the breading they used and the portion was large. My eggs were cooked perfectly over easy. Bacon was nice and crisp. Home fries could have used more seasoning but were cooked well. Toast needed a little more time in the toaster. But overall, for the price this was a great meal! My friend and significant other enjoyed their meals as well. Jake's may not be my go to spot in Fairhaven but I'm happy with the service and food I had today! And $38 before tip for 3 people with three meals and three drinks is an absolute steal. read more

Tried Jake's for the first time but unfortunately we were less than impressed. I ordered the Lisbon omelet which consists of Portuguese hash. But what i got was a well made omelet but their version of hash is not the usual tastiness I'm accustomed to. I actually had to add salt since the hash was just mashed up (saltfree?) chorico; my hashbrowns were unseasoned cubes of potatoes with zero love so they were left lonely along with the chourico I scraped out of my omelet. My husband ordered the lumberjack and enjoyed it but subbed out his hashbrowns for beans that were very burnt tasting. The coffee was weak and lukewarm. The diner itself is great, very nostalgic which can stir up fond memories for us older folk. The inside temp was very comfortable. It seemed cleanish; Bathroom needs professional cleaning, borderline gross. Our waitress was in more of a robot mode since she was probably on her feet since early morning. Jakes diner has really good food but they're a bit over priced considering theres multiple other good breakfast / Lunch place options around the area. I will say I was given expired sweet n sour sauce the last time I ate there and ate half of it before I realized it. I knew something seemed off then my wife told me to stop eating it and checked the date and it was like 6 months expired which was wild. I still gave the 4 stars because the food was good but you need to do better checking dates of stuff because if it was my kids that had eaten expired stuff I would have been very angry read more

I love a diner and we walked in and waited 5 minutes !!!! Everyone was so pleasant and the place is packed with townies. I ask the server what to get and they steered me away from the obligatory steak & eggs and said her this omelette with Cacoila is a pork meat and it comes with a sweet au jus !! Very tasty but the potatoes could be cooked a little more, that's the ONLY reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5. Now this a a great dinner plus the Chef is the best around, the food is outstanding. The servers are terrific always remembering us when we enter. The food is fresh and delicious. You can tell that it is carefully sourced and thoughtfully prepared. I wish that they had front patio/deck in the front of the Diner for alfresco dining. The parking lot is more then ample. A great place here in Fairhaven and it comes at you so unexpectedly. We had blueberry pancakes and the Portuguese omelette. Service was exceptional and fast and there is no question my omelette was very well prepared. I had a slight issue with the potatoes because I really hate that too many places are just deep frying potatoes now instead of making real home fries, but I still see this place as proving an excellent breakfast. read more

I had the feta/spinach omelette with home fries and rye toast, that was a bit over cooked. The coffee wasn't strong enough for my taste. Sunday morning before "The rush." 3 egg Spanish omelette with wheat toast and home fries, and a waffle with strawberries and whipped cream. Easy, right? Waffle wasn't badly cooked but the strawberries had obviously been out for a while. Dried up and almost crispy. Spanish omelette, undercooked inside, along with a slurry of cheese that appeared to be milky and tasteless, onions and crisp green peppers, again undercooked. Home fries were seasoned and the highlight on the plate. Service was attentive, even if new and obviously inexperienced, but certainly made a stellar effort. I will pass by next time, but as we left there was a wait for tables, so maybe they are doing something right here,? I just didn't see it on this visit. read more

I like the food here, but they never seem to get my order right. I ordered the Model T Chicken Salad again this time. Several bites into it and I said to Abner "Hey, isn't this supposed to have bacon in it?" I couldn't believe they forgot this again (read my review from 2013). I reached behind me to get the lunch menu and verified that bacon is supposed to be on this wrap. This is the second time that I have ordered this and they forgot the bacon. It was like deja vu, 2013 all over again. There is a disconnect between the name of an item on the menu, what the server writes on the slip, what gets communicated to the kitchen and what comes to you on your plate. I asked for a Model T with chicken salad. The server said I need to ask for the Motel T, BLT. (What?????). Why would you call a regular chicken salad wrap a Model T? Isn't the reason it is called a Model T because it has the bacon lettuce and tomato on it? As a customer, this is confusing. I didn't like that it was somehow becoming my fault for not understanding the idiosyncrasy of ordering this sandwich. In addition, my meal came with onion rings that I did not order. Not a bad spot. I had a meeting scheduled at a local company and was meeting my boss and a colleague for breakfast prior to the meeting. I showed up 45 minutes early and the server was not pushy and very friendly! When we ordered the food came out very quickly. The ham was good, the potatoes weren't my favorite, but were fine. Eggs were done just as I had ordered them. The people were all very friendly and the decor of the diner is very nice. I'm sure I'll be back in the future. read more

WOW! I love this place soooo much! I come here every year for skating competitions and I never leave disappointed! I love their food and would totally recommend their eggs Benedict! The waitress was so kind and sweet and pleasant! Unfortunately, I didn't catch her name but hopefully I see her next year! I love the vibe of the place with it being so cute and cozy and on the more old fashioned side. And totally get the hot chocolate! Jakes diner is a great stop if your looking to take someone out to breakfast or lunch. With with the classic diner look it stands out amongst ordinary restaurants or food joints. The staff is friendly and energetic even in a rush. Our visit was busy an hour before close we ordered a muffin and lunch. Our drinks were brought to us within minutes of orders, or muffin followed yet only a moment after. Personally I don't mind the length before the meal, with such a splendid atmosphere it lets you enjoy being out and chatting with your party, and the food NEVER disappoints! read more

Threw a leg over my Harley and went to check this diner out Sunday morning.Had a pleasant ride getting here and found a few nice back roads along the way. My first look at the exterior and I wasn't very impressed.It really was pretty shoddy looking, and I questioned myself about going in.I was pretty hungry so,I went on in.It was much nicer on the inside,looked pretty clean so I decided to stay and plunked myself down at the counter.The place was just about empty but, somehow,I guess that nobody saw me come in and sit down.I did see a bunch of waitresses over in the corner having what looked like a hen party or something,I don't know.After awhile I raised my finger and mouthed the words-coffee please.A waitress kinda shuffled over with it and took my order.I decided on the steak tips and eggs special off the board with toast and home fries.Small portions but the tips were very flavorful.If you are in the parking lot and are starving and can wait awhile to get service,go on in..I'll pass by next time... read more

I eat at Jake's almost every week. I love their coffee and have never had a bad meal there. They offer wonderful homemade standards like meat loaf and turkey dinner. The breakfasts are terrific.
