Decided to try something different for lunch and chose Faneeks. Was not expecting such a large menu to choose from! Server Katie helped make suggestions since it was our 1st time, she started out with a cheerful 'Welcome, we're glad you're here!' Decided to try their sample platter which was perfect for those of us who don't know exactly we'd like. Each portion was enough for my husband and I to take a couple bites each. I also ordered an 'Ugly dog' since the ingredients sounded interesting, along with a small fries. Another friendly server, Kia, brought our food out to out table, greeting everyone with a happy disposition. The venue filled up during early afternoon and I can see why, not only is there lots of delicious items but the prices were so fair and reasonable! They also offer meals for those who cant afford it by way of patrons donating prepaid meals. The walls were filled with drawings from a local school, giving it a local, rustic feeling. If you haven't tried them out yet, please do, I hope you leave as satisfied as we did. BTW, my favorites turned out to be the 'Dyno dog' that has peppers and finely ground beef, and the chili cheese with onions. Walked in and I wasn't too busy. It's nice to have all those old rivers and the history of the place. I ordered two hotdogs and half a dozen clam cakes. Classic Fall River. I appreciate this place so much. They love love Fall River as much as we all do and have relics and memorabilia all over the walls along w school children drawings of local landmarks such as the battleship. And what is so amazing and what every business should have, they have a pay it forward program which allows customers to pay for someone who doesn't have enough money. How amazing. Once I was in there and during a busy lunch rush the owner came around the counter and sat with an older fellow she knew, he had on a veteran hat and was likely someone she knew for a long time, as they laughed and talked about the past. Faneeks is a very simple and quaint side of the road beach shack. Pretty far from the road in Fall River Massachusetts. They have a nice menu, dogs, burgers, limited seafood, salads, soups etc. and a take out window. Pros - nice selection for a limited menu, inexpensive, super quick service, parking and some interesting Portuguese items like Kale Soup and Portuguese style clam cakes. Their hot dogs taste like Kayem brand, but I really like kayem. Cons - hot dog chili (inedible to me), rolls have been a bit stale on 2 of 3 visits, Staff is efficient not necessarily friendly. read more

Truly a remarkable place. At this location since 1966, it's a spot you need to got to and sit down inside and have a couple Coneys. The taste is exceptional and I have had Coneys everywhere LOL, a great taste. The inside is full of pictures of memories from all over Fall River including the horrific burning down of Notre Dame of Fall River. There are also hundreds of other images and sections of children's school art too. A must visit and super reasonable prices too. read more

Used to come here as a kid and yesterday after taking my MIL to the new casino we decided to grab a quick lunch here. They have done a nice job with both the interior and exterior eating areas. FaNeeks is better than your average weenie joint. Around lunchtime, they have a line out the door of people looking for soup, weiners and their american chop suey. They've got a menu full of weiners, but my favorite is the coleslaw dog because they somehow turned a hotdog into a refreshing experience. Their Faneeks dog (with chourizo) is also great and heck so are their regular dogs (all the way). It was a treat to go back to a childhood favorite....yes, I miss the small dogs and all of the clock (we used to try to count them all) but this was delicious! I had the FaNeek dog with Chourico and it was amazing. The counter guy recommended cheese on our chili fries and it was so worth the extra .50 cents. The workers seem to care about the service and the food. The also have cold coffee milk and other typical food items such as the fish and chips. Serving the Coney Island dogs from the name to Chourico rolls to Bean dogs to Stuffies to that old stand by, the Chow Mein Sandwich. Faneek's will feed you and get you on your way for way under 10 dollars. It could well feed two for that amount. Everything, save the stuffies, is made to order right here. Hot Dog all the way---------------------- $1.35 Chourico Roll----------------------------- $1.85 Stuffed Quahog--------------------------- $1.55 No French fries but you can get chips and soda and all is well with the world. For God's sake Emeril knows about Faneek's. My wife asked him about it at a book signing. His response, "AHHH, Faneek's". Sounds like he missed the place. In the early "70"s we used to go to Faneek's on the way to deliver boats to Cape Cod and after partaking of some "appetite stimulant" eat 10 dogs each.
