What a great place! I have been eating Sam's Lebanese pies and Syrian bread since I was a child. I have not been in a while but I was wanting to have some so I recently went to fulfill the craving. As usual, Sam's Bakery knocked it out of the park. My go to choices are the meat pie and the open faced cheese. I mean how do you go wrong with feta?! It's my favorite cheese and I want it on everything. I also purchase the Syrian/pita bread for my hummus and tabouli. Everything I have ever tried is always good and super fresh. The staff hustles in that store and always serve with a smile no matter how busy they are. While I've been enjoying Sam's bakery items for decades, today was the first time that I've visited the location in person. Typically my grandparents or mother make the trek to Fall River to pick up their fresh made bread, spinach and meat pies, but today I volunteered to make the drive there myself. While the building is large, the 'shop area' is small, consisting of an L shaped counter, a few shelves with some pantry staples, and two refrigerated cases with beverages, yogurt, and cheeses. There was a steady stream of foot traffic while I was there, people mostly popping in to get a few pies for lunch or stocking up on bread. The line moved quickly and efficiently and we were in and out in no time at all. Their pricing is reasonable and the quality of the food is excellent. We spent just about $100 today, but came home with dozens of spinach and meat pies to share and enough bread to stock our freezer for a few weeks. Definitely worth the drive. Pro tip: order one day ahead for 'party size' spinach and meat pies - a smaller version of their traditional pies - which are perfect for any party or family get together. read more

Located inside an old brick building, this bakery makes authentic Lebanese bread. I walked into a small shop and ordered an open face meat pie, meat pie and what looks to be giant pita bread. Total came out to $6 and some change. My first thought was, how does this place stay in business. As I'm eating my breads, about 20 cars are in and out in a matter of minutes. Regarding food: I have been enjoying Sam's food for several years. Some too oily for my liking, but generally very tasty. Regarding Service: Here is where Sam's badly fails the test. I was at Sam's about 2 weeks ago to pick up some Syrian pocket bread. On Thursdays, Sam's is open from 7:30 am - 1 pm. When I arrived at 12:48 pm, there were two gentleman walking away from the bakery front door who informed us that they had just walked up to the front door and told us, "They slammed the door on us." I knocked several times, and received NO response. Another 2 people arrived hoping to pick up their items, and same response: NONE. I will not return to Sam's because they obviously have NO respect for their customers. I do not patronize any business who don't respect or value their customers. read more

Visited on 7/14/21 Sam's meat pies are well throughout the country, and really is a jumping popular bakery. They do not allow more than four people in at a time because of Covid, once you get in, the place is hopping with the girls, pulling the delicious products, out of the ovens, and waiting on the hungry patrons. The triangular shaped meat pies are so very savory, hot, and juicy, with the wonderful aromatic smell of spice (Za'atar possibly). They are a little greasy so be careful when you unwrap them once your back in your car, make sure you have some paper towels with you so you don't grease up your pants like I did. lol So glad I was able to enjoy this Fall River local delicacy. read more

I have been a customer of Sam's bakery for years. Although I tolerated the woman's abruptness who owned the bakery, today was the worst I have been treated by yet another employer. The woman at the register became rude once I told her I needed two separate orders. I spent more than 40 dollars and I won't be back. Horrible service when the owner isn't around. Stopped in today on my break. Wasn't many in line. I kindly let a lady run out of line to "lock her car" and come back to order. She orders 150 worth of food picking this and that. Then let's her friend order after her. After they order she tries to ask if she can order one more thing. Not one worker said anything. Now I used to eat here a lot growing up and had not had meat pies in long time. The owner always ran the place great. I ended up frustrated and before getting police alerted I decided to walk off and let em know they lost a sale. I won't be getting or recommending anything from this place anymore. It's been a long time since I have gone to Sam's bakery since the old man passed, and this is the last time. It's sad but his daughter that has taken over, is so rude to customers and yells at everyone. It took me a lot to keep my cool, but I get it she's not normal.
