Sam's and Mario's bakery in Fall River are the best Lebanese bakeries in town. Their menu options and tastes are very similar. Food is 5/5 but I feel like the customer service can be a little more professional at times. Definitely recommend for anyone in the area. read more

Sam's is literally a huge part of my childhood, and today I revisited it for the first time in several years. I moved from Fall River to California when I was 6. Before that, and on the couple return visits I've had since, my grandpa would always get me Sam's meat pies. That remains one of the few really good, key memories I have of growing up (my childhood was rocky to say the least). I'm 32 now, and my grandpa has since passed away. It's been 7 years since I last had Sam's...and so today, I took a trip down memory lane. I have nothing but good to say about this place. It's family run, the food is delicious, you can see it being made feet away from you, and it's inexpensive to boot. Each meat pie is only $1.25 and they're large. I brought my husband here for the first time today and even he loves them. I truly hope one day, when we have kids, we can bring them here too. Thank you for existing, Sam's. We found this little gem on yelp when we were looking for bakeries in the area. A~M~A~Z~I~N~G!!! First I don't think we would have ever come across this little place on our own if we didn't have yelp to point us to it and second, we would have never found it without gps/navigation. We pulled up late on a Saturday morning and the parking lot was almost full and there was a lot of cars on the street parking too. We walked in and it was very busy. There was a line of people waiting and there was a counter with 2 people filling orders and one cashing everyone out. They have a limited selection of items...basically meat pies, spinach pies and Syrian bread. They also have some ingredients for sale on shelves next to the line of customers. The line moved quickly and we grabbed a bag of Syrian bread and ordered 2 meat pies and 2 spinach pies. They are so busy in there they are constantly making more pies (there was a big pile of them on a table). We went out to our car and immediately started eating the meat pies because they were still warm. Omgosh, they were so so good. Reminded me of the French meat pies I grew up with! The spinach pies and the Syrian bread was also delicious. This will definitely become one of our stops when we're in the area again! Next time we'll be sure to get a whole bunch more meat pies so we can share with friends! Cash only!!! read more

Truly outstanding meat pies, whenever I have a gathering I order their smaller version of the larger meat pies, same quality and flavor, just Party size, and I never seem to have any left! I have been going to Sam's for years. Their spinach, and cabbage pies are delicious! Cannot say enough about them. We usually buy a dozen and freeze them. My only complaint is that I wish they would separate the meat pies from the vegetable pies. As a vegetarian, it is disappointing to get home with them and find little pieces of meat stuck to them. If you are looking for something different - definitely stop into this little hidden treasure. read more

Shame on us for never trying these Lebanese food treasures (fine food). Some of the most tasty and comforting grub we have ever had. This place is just one of Fall River's many hidden treasurers. Went just hours ago for meat, spinach and Leban pies. Always delicious and the taste never disappoints. Service was great, Grace at the helm, just like her Dad was. He was always about the business and getting people in and out quickly. The grease had its own mind and I learned quickly to wear the same shirt when going cuz it would not come out, no matter what my Mom did. Now, no grease, just lots of flavor and no bibs necessary on the ride home...oh I could tell some stories!!! Great food and prices still affordable for all. After eating food from this bakery at a week long workshop, I had to find Sam's Bakery to take food home. Nestled in a residential area I used my GPS to hone in on Sam's. Check the hours of operation before you go. You will find the absolute BEST tasting meat, spinach and Lebanese food. I found the counter person to be very friendly, humble and helpful. Take cash. Almost every week my giddo used to bring my sisters and I here when we were little girls. He'd pile us up in the car, we'd get a dozen meat pies and eat them piping hot with a glass of cold milk. I'm now 24 and my trips to Sam's with him are still some of my most special memories. He passed in 2013 and my family has since moved to North Carolina. I miss him and Sam's so much! They are and always will be one of my favorite places and it's heartbreaking I never get to eat there. Thank you guys for making your little bakery such a special place for everyone in Fall River. Unfortunate that the other reviews are correct always good food but owner super rude to customers. Just unnecessary and embarrassing especially when your own employees are saying it's because she's a "greenhorn" and older. I know plenty of older people who may also consider themselves greenhorn it's Fall River that's no reason to treat customers that way!! read more

Ah. The Flint. This neighborhood boasts some of the best local character watching in Fall Reeve - and is home to Sam's bakery. I adore the family that works in this place. They are busy like ants at a picnic running around with precision getting the job done. You've heard of the pies - yummy and cheap. My reason for going here is the baklava fingers. Long crispy fingers of nut and honey heaven. Yes. Yes, I WILL pay a dollar per piece to enjoy this other-wordly-like delight. They are perfectly crisp and lightly sweetened with a perfect combination of butter,nuts, spices, sugar, honey and rosewater. On a recent visit, they let me come in with my daugther after their official close. So nice! I bought some pies and a dozen baklava fingers. You must get them fresh before they get wrapped in plastic. They are still good, but just not the nirvana you deserve. Only five baklava fingers made it home. I am not a sweets eater but I ate SEVEN freakin' fingers during my 40 minute drive home. I have no regret...except maybe that I don't live close to that rosewater baklava. read more

If there is but one good thing Fall River has to offer, it's Sam's Bakery. I am truly going to miss this place when I get the hell out of New England. Not in the best part of crappy-ass Fall River, but not terrible. There's a parking lot, so that's nice. This place is ALWAYS busy. They open early and close around early afternoon, but will close sooner if they've run out of food for the day. There's no doubt this place gets cleaned out daily. Get in early, folks!! I've tried the open-faced meat and spinach pies. As well as the meat and chorizo pies. My favorite hands down; Chorizo. It's the bomb!! I'll take some home and dip them in some ranch, mmm mmmmmmm. My gf loves their authentic homemade tabouli. She says it's the best she's ever had. She'll eat that with her meat pies or sometimes we'll buy their homemade chips. Everything here is made fresh daily. When you go in, you come out smelling like the place though. I want to branch out and try a few other things before I peace out of NE. I had an appointment in the area, and was hankering for a spinach and/or meat pie. Daou would disappoint me for its lack of freshness. However, I found Sam's on Yelp. I was there right before closing, so the store was out of spinach pies, to my chagrin. However, they had meat pies left, and I don't think I've ever had a meat pie better in the area than the one I had here. The dough was thinner, a bit like Syrian bread, and really soft. The meat filling inside was abundant and flavorful. There was a pronounced cinnamon flavor to it. Maybe some will find it odd or obtrusive, but it worked well for me. Like many of these hard-to-find spots, it's cash only. Sam's a little hard to get to, and a little tough to get out. However, it's worth finding this hidden jewel. read more

I loved Sam's Bakery. I was amazed by the speed at which I received the items as well as the quality and affordability of the pies I ordered. I got Za'atar bread, labna meat pies, spinach pie, and broccoli-feta, all for about $10. All were made with love, and years of perfection. Definitely one of my Fall River favorites! Ever since I was a kid my family has gone out of their way to drive into the city and get a big stack of menich and a few different pies for breakfast / lunch on the weekend. They're delicious and perfect every time! One time I was working a catering gig up near Boston and they had spinach pies from Sam's brought up there for the graduation party because they love them so much.
