I had been to a location in Washington DC several years ago, and haven't heard from them since, so this must have been fate! I have had so many bad waxes in the last two years, but decided to take one more chance and booked online with Jenelle (based on a couple of reviews on Yelp). My appt was at 9:15 on a Saturday morning, so there was no wait at all and the salon was quiet. Jenelle is really nice and did an AMAZING job - not one single stray hair for me to tweeze (which is not a problem for me, but I have left a few visits elsewhere practically needing to go somewhere the next day... no exaggeration) and no wax residue on me either. If you have ever had wax stuck to you the next day that just will not come off, you know how exciting this was for me! The technician had a nice demeanor,…read morebut her technique left me with sores (that soon turned into scabs) on my lower lip and eyebrow area. Instead of using a single swift pull, this technician (Sheila) used a series of small pulls, which I believe led to the sores. But I'm not sure about that. What I can say is that I'm in my mid-50s, have been waxing for decades, and have never been left with sores/scabs. So this issue is distinct to this visit to EWC in Brookline, MA (and I've been to several others in the area). Additionally troubling is that I wrote a note to EWC stating the above to no avail, even offering to send them photos that I'd taken. Not only did no one contact me, I know they received my complaint because I got a follow-up survey inquiring as to my satisfaction regarding the efficacy of their follow-up. Incredible! You can't make this stuff up. I've even checked Junk, thinking "surely not, surely *someone* would have written back; maybe it went into the Spam folder." Nope. Non. Nada. Anyway, the woman at the front desk was lovely, friendly, chatty, and very welcoming. Despite that, unless I want more scabs, returning to this EWC seems unwise and so I won't.

I found this hidden jewel browsing through google. I was a 'lash' model and I am not new to extensions so I am very particular to where I go and the quality of lashes. My previous place was booked and I needed to have my lashes down ASAP prior to vacay. I found MaxiLash and thoroughly looked at their reviews and website and decided to give them a chance. BEST DECISION I made!! Irina is the BEST! You tel her what you want and she does exactly what you ask for and more! She takes her time and makes sure that every lash is handled with care and is FULL! An hour and a half is nothing when you realize how beautiful your lashes will look and how they last for 4 weeks! That's the amazing part, they last for 4 weeks AND they offer discounts if you book on either a Monday or Tuesday! Lashes are very expensive as it is but this place is very reasonable and the discounts on those 2 days definitely make a difference. I recommend going to MaxiLash! You will have no regrets! Book with Irina, she's great and very knowledgeable!! read more

I have been going here since June and I absolutely LOVE it! I have gone to both Tiffany and camryn in the past and I have never once had a bad experience. For this Yelp post I want to talk about the most recent experience I had with Tiffany. My appointment with Tiffany every 2-3 weeks is what makes my month! She's super personable and takes complete interest in not only doing a good job on her client, but also really getting to know them on a personal level. We talk about which books we're reading, boys, our future weeks plans, basically making my 45 min-1 hour fill go by in a blink of an eye. If you are looking for a lash place that is reasonably priced, then you need to go here! The one hour every couple weeks beats taking ~15 minutes every day doing my lashes (not including the time it takes to remove my makeup at night) I can never go back to not having eye lash extensions ever!!!! Please take a look at the pictures I've attached as proof of how great Tiffanys work is! :) read more

I have been wanting to review MaxiLash for a long time, but I wanted to make sure that I received a full set and a fill before doing so. From a logistics standpoint, this boutique is on point. If they have to move your appointment they give you a weeks notice, every single stylist is always on time, I have seen 3 different ones. Their work is the same quality and they all use the same lashes, so if your particular artist is out sick or on holidays you can easily see a different artist and get the same look. I have very sensitive eyes and the glue they use works for me, minimal redness, and its gone a few hours after the appointment. If you want the lashes to last, do not get them wet within 24 hours, it really makes a difference. read more

As a fitness professional who sweats A LOT, it's really hard to find a lash expert that can keep me looking awesome for two weeks at a time -- but Katie makes it happen. She has even offered me tips and tricks to help my lashes last longer as I tend to get them wet more often than your average client. On the off chance I have a heavy shedding week (YES, lashes shed just like the hair on your head), she always squeezes me in for a one week update so that I'm looking fresh. I have referred several friends and clients to Katie as well, and will continue to do so! I can't recommend her enough.

Do not go here I just left with the worst experience…read more She butchered my eyebrows made them uneven and different shapes because she took initiative to hid a scar I've had for 13 years without my permission. Did not tell me she was going to make one eye brow higher than the other When i asked her to fix it she laughed uncomfortably saying this is aligned and that any threading place would have done this. That is completely wrong. I have never had any threading place do this to me. Also gaslighting me saying I didn't have enough hair I am putting a photos of me before, right after and her supposed fix that still looks horrible. I have a wedding to go to tomorrow and this is the worst experience I've had in my life. Like they say it takes one to be scared to let people touch your eye brows and women who owns this has now created legit fear and ruined my eyebrows

I got my brows waxed and she also put henna on them to darken them and thicken them out. I also got my lashes lifted which is so much safer then getting extensions. Eye lash extensions are a nightmare and so many things can go wrong. Your eyes are to sensitive to be letting someone risk poking you with tweezers or getting some kind of glue in your eye (yes, that has happened to me). The woman who works here takes her time and wants to make sure you are completely 100% satisfied with her work! I will definitely be returning to see her again. And I would absolutely recommend this salon to anyone looking for a very clean, comfortable, caring and well educated eye lash/eye brow tech. Well worth what I feel was a more than fair price!! I believe I paid $140 for all 3 services.

The technician told me she was finished and asked me to look in the mirror, but the entire appointment was completed in only 45 minutes. I was surprised that a $288 lash extension service could be finished so quickly. I wasn't happy with the design, so I asked her to make some adjustments. The direction of some of the lashes still didn't look right, but I decided to leave because I didn't think making further changes would improve the result. For the price, I honestly didn't feel that the design or application was done well. I also noticed that my eyes felt uncomfortable every time I blinked after the extensions were applied. I thought it might just be because it was my first day, so I tried to tolerate it, but the discomfort continued. I was told the extensions would last around 4-6 weeks, but mine started falling out the very next day. Even though they were already falling out, my eyes were still uncomfortable whenever I blinked, so I eventually had to go to another lash salon to have all of the extensions removed. I feel like I completely wasted $288. I would not recommend this service based on my experience.
