2 showers were renovated with tub removals. -- standard size bathtub/shower -- custom master shower/jet tub and floor throughout the bathroom. Both installations were completed well, timely, and at a reasonable price. There were a couple of annoyances so I would rate 4.5 stars, if I could. I went with MaxHome because of the warranty, contract, documentation, professionalism, and the ability to reach out to management for assistance with an acceptable response. I'm very pleased with the aftercare which prompted me to review the company. I found the shower floor too slippery and they came back out to install a covering that is much better at no additional charge. They also agreed to cover a slippery bench in the custom shower. read more

Their customer service is a mess and if you need service to what they installed you wont even be able to get through. They say they will call you back to schedule which could take days up to a week. read more

Has 10 star experience with Max Home for converting both our tubs to walk in showers. Susan was our sales lady that was so knowledgeable about the shower, its different products and services. She explained everything thoroughly and answered all my questions. She gave us the best price, and they started the work 3 days later, Kerry an amazing installer did an excellent job, he did the whole shower installation in ONE DAY!!! He came back again the next day to do the second shower the next day all done SAME DAY!!! He kept my' house, carpet , tiles and floors absolutely clean. He worked very hard to complete both our showers. We are very pleased and happy with his work and certainly appreciate his efforts. We highly recommend Max Home for bathroom conversation. I've had a terrible experience with MaxHome. They renovated my upstairs master tub. Day after the install, water was leaking from my upstairs down to my downstairs living room. There was an issue with their plumbing. They fixed that, then I waited on for someone else to come fix the drywall. After that, I finally took a bath and a day later I found water still leaking to downstairs. Second tech came and said that the first tech failed to tighten something properly. I also told him that the bathtub spot's flow is extremely slow. It takes 17 minutes to fill water up just above the jets, and 37 minutes to fill up to the overflow drain. Tech agreed with me it's borderline unusable. The MaxHome manager didn't care and said all their parts are complying with specs from the plumbing code and federal regulations, so nothing's wrong on their side, and if there is any issue then it must be on my side of the plumbing. I asked him to send me info on the specs and regulations he's talking about. He never ever did. I wasted lots of personal time researching on the internet, talking to my realtor and home inspector, and I even hired a plumber out of my own pocket to look at the issue. They said this is very unusual, and the problem is they installed a valve that is way too small than what is needed. They showed me a "normal" valve and yes the difference is significant. They said there's nothing in the plumbing code that forces them to use a valve this small, and there's no federal regulation that would tie their hands either. The federal regulation that the MaxHome manager quoted me when he was dismissing my concerns is only specific to SHOWER HEADS, and the regulator enforcing that is a plastic piece inside the shower head. Not the tub valve. MaxHome sent another tech to finish repairing the drywall, and I kept complaining. The tech agreed the tub flow is too low. After prodding a couple more times they finally scheduled someone to take out the walls and figure out the plumbing. I found more water leaking from the tub to downstairs, and asked them to look at that as well. Tech came in, took the walls off, and replaced the valve with the same model, but they drilled into it to make the flow holes bigger. It's a shoddy solution, but it improved enough that I accepted it. They put everything back together, but then I noticed a small divot in the bathtub. It seems like the tech took th wall off and rested the corner of the wall in the tab, and it leaved a divot behind. This divot would get worse over time, so I asked them to fix it. MaxHome sent some third party guy who put some sealant on top of the divot, but he told me there was just was no way to actually restore it to look like new. He was trying to persuade me that the divot is barely noticeable and it's best if I just let it go. There's still a small divot in the tub, and I'm stuck with it. Of course I am well within my rights to ask for a new bathtub. The dilemma is that MaxHome has flubbed just about every step of this process up to this point. Do I really want to have them come in, take off the walls, uninstall the tub, haul another tub in and reinstall and reseal everything? Because I have zero confidence they will do it right. I'm going to have more water leaking from upstairs to downstairs and need the drywall repairs and blah blah blah. I'm not sure it's even worth it. I'm tired of scheduling appointments for them to come to my home. The months long stress has made me feel sick. Not just from the damage, but also insisting to MaxHome that it's THEIR PROBLEM and there's no BS regulations tying their hands. After spending tons of money on a bath renovation, this is a nightmare experience. I should have gone with the other bath remodel company. read more

Then when calling confirm appointment they refused to come out for quote unless we were both there. Seems a little dated. More professional companies out there. Be careful; the mold warranty is only 2 years. The walls do not mold (of course, it is a sheet of something they use. ) The caulking they use DOES MOLD, but they make you believe the entire project is guaranteed to not mold. After the contract ends, they want to charge $240+ to come out and re-caulk. I will not use them again and will not recommend them if you do not know how to caulk! My husband left her a voicemail on Tuesday and again Thursday. It's one thing if she was sick or on vacation for not responding. He was told she was there. MaxHome came to the home of my in laws today and I was really impressed with the service provided and the excellent work done by Alex. It's unfortunate that my father in law's health has made simple tasks exhausting, and sometimes impossible. It finally came time that the tub needed to be converted to a shower. Alex arrived ahead of schedule (imagine that!) and quoted 6 hours of work. I couldn't believe they could do such a project in a single day, but they certainly did. I listened as Alex went over the checklist, their referral program, potential issues, and more with my father in law before starting. I am not really sure on what this kind of work goes for, but in discussing with my father in law, another company quoted him twice the amount! Don't get me wrong, it's expensive, but after watching Alex off and on for 6 hours, I have to say that it seems very fair for what they are doing. They completely removed the old tub and started from scratch. While removing the old tub, they found an issue and fixed it at no additional cost. My in laws had their galvanized pipes redone a couple of years back and wouldn't you know that two were left by the tub and Alex removed them? My goodness! He must have walked from his vehicle to the back bathroom 900 times, so I'm sure no one at this company needs to join a gym or do cardio, lol. He removed all the old stuff and put it into his van, he cut the new material outside and brought it inside. He was very efficient and put scraps in the van as he went. When he was ready to put in the grab handles, he had my father in law come in, we put the shower chair in and that way he could see where exactly the grab handles would be most helpful and easiest to reach. Thank God they are so thorough or the expense could easily seem like too much. Alex has a wonderful work ethic and was very patient and respectful, even though we occasionally blocked his path by accident or a dog would come running through. At one point, I was outside, it started to rain (yeah, looking at you Houston) and he didn't pause. He claims to take a 10-15 minute lunch break, but I didn't see him take any break or eat. Maybe he's a ninja. I was really amazed by his skill and attitude and really impressed with his character and the finished product. He not only removed all debris, but cleaned everything so it was immaculate. It was such a relief to see the tub gone and the very smallest of ridges to step over to get to the shower. It was wonderful craftsmanship! Everyone in the house was so happy! I do want to warn of a couple of things. Alex has 8 years of experience, so some employees might need longer, like 8-9 hours. Regardless, that's still impressive that a single employee is converting a tub to a shower in a single day! Another thing, something I wish I knew beforehand. You cannot use the new shower for 24 hours while everything cures. Understandable, but some planning may be required. He was here from 9am to 3pm, so that can be worked around if you know ahead of time. They offer a bonus for referrals. That's a nice benefit! There are financing options as well, but I'm not informed on those. This conversion was a full tub and no door, I am under the impression they have multiple options. They also do more than bathrooms- I heard kitchens and windows mentioned as well. I would definitely, enthusiastically recommend them for your next big home project! read more

Promises were not kept. Acrylic was said not to "crack, scratch, or dent". The first day in the new tub, I notice a scratch and a dent. The temperature handle broke off in the first use. The installer took 13 hours and had no help. He lacked the ceiling pan that was promised. Luckily, someone was able to deliver it to him. Screws were left in to hold the caulking, with the expectation that we would finish the job. The shower tub combo cost about $11,000, without demo. Communication to resolve this issue has been terrible. They do not answer the service number on the website. Someone will call you from another number. The service time is not timely as promised during consultant. He was said to show up from 1 to 3pm. At 3:30pm, I'm informed he'll be an hour and half late. read more

We were able to schedule installation just 3 days after our consultation - a very nice surprise. With the 1-day installation, I went from wanting a soaker tub, to having a soaker tub in the same amount of time it took other contractors to provide a quote. Our installer, Eric, was professional, on-time, and did a fantastic job. He even used different color sealers to make sure the surround would blend perfectly with our wall paint color. I am the decision maker in whether or not their services would be used and communicated that quite clearly twice when originally making the appointment. When their representative called me to confirm the appointment "he" told me that they would not be able to come out to give me a quote unless we both were there. Is it 1950 or 2020?
