We did a 90% remodel in under 2 months... Everhart keep everything moving, kept the subcontractors always knowing their tasks. I cannot say anything bad about this company. They were WONDERFUL to work with, if the work was as expected, they were there to fix, change, etc. Every step forward, there is an inspection, every time, they nailed it... Never was there a wasted day in our whole remodel. I NEVER once had a sleepless night questioning if I was doing the right thing or if the construction was good, etc... Clay and Alex were there and were always available. If you plan on doing any remodeling, these are the guys... 100% honest, 100% for the customer, these guys can make a beautiful home out of a tin can! If you really interested in getting your home remodeled, don't walk, run to these guys, they might be slightly higher than others, but you get what you pay for. The company remodeled the master bathroom in our house. They used subcontractors. We never met the owner, was working with his son, who did not really listening and was doing that he thought is cheaper for company. As result we did not get what we wanted, we got Nick's version of the bathroom. They left unfinished product. Than we try to contact Nick, he did not replayed. After awhile somebody called with demands and blames: why don' you let my son have a break? It's how we found out that Nick is the son of the owner. This last episode: not finished product and extremely rude phone call from the owner, who we never met, left very bitter aftertaste. Our few personal belongs also gone with the subcontractors. Everhart Construction handled the rebuild of my condo after the flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey. It was a very frustrating time but Alex was a very good project manager and kept on top of the work at all times. Nick handled the financial portion of the job. The project was completed on budget. The quality of materials and workmanship was great. All punch list items were resolved timely. I highly recommend Everhart Construction for big or small jobs. **UPDATE 10/01 - Everhart saw my review and sent out Lonnie who brought a designer and did end up giving me a rendering and quote. They aren't the place for me as it seems they specialize in fully custom homes and not remodeling a spec home so the cost is hard to justify for even a high end spec (Trendmaker). That said, the rendering was very nice and gave me a better idea of how the bathroom would feel and any adjustments I may want to make. For the specific clientele who are looking for a very high end, custom job, this may be the route for you. My price began at $25K and kept going on up due to challenges they said would come up with my slab and such and ended over $40K before I had to bow out and take them off my potential contractor list. I just couldn't justify this cost for a single bathroom built inside the house, without even pouring more foundation. Lonnie and the designer were very timely, however, so I'd say give them a try if you're looking for the highest end custom you can get. PREVIOUS REVIEW: Met with Kollin at Everhart...here's the message I just sent the owner of the company based upon my experience: "Just to let you know, and I do hope this message goes to the owner whose bottom line is impacted by $25K or so on this one deal, I met with Kollin on the 21st about building a shared bathroom for the pool and study and he said I'd hear from him the next day. I wrote him 2 days later, still nothing. To this moment, a week later, still nothing. My time is a very limited resource and very valuable. I can't say enough good things about Everhart. You constantly hear horror stories from renovations and construction projects. Our experience with Everhart couldn't have been better. We had them do a media/workout room addition (20 x 15) and also custom built-ins and a faux fireplace in our family room. The owner (Lee) is professional, knowledgeable, and patient. He listened to what we wanted and helped create the exact design for us. Everhart handled everything including the design, plans, and permits. The best part of our experience though was our project manager Alex Diaz. He was with us every step of the way. He super responsive, answered all calls and texts, helped us select material, always gave us status updates, and never once was impatient or annoyed by any question we asked. I honestly wish we had more projects to do at our house right now because we would absolutely have Everhart do them. read more

Can't really comment on the quality of the work, but I have to mirror Kristin K's experience. Took time off of work to meet with them, waited half an hour beyond the appointment time, called their office and was told their guy had left a long time ago and was certainly on his way. My house isn't very far from their office. Got a call back a few minutes later saying he would definitely be there in 15 minutes or so. I cancelled the appointment and declined to reschedule. Receptionist was very friendly, but this company seems to have a hard time keeping their appointments, and had I not called, I have my doubts that I'd ever have heard from them. There certainly was no courtesy call to tell me they were behind schedule. Plenty of contractors in Houston. Will work with one that actually respects my time. read more

I hired them to remodel my master bathroom, and now my kitchen too. Look, having a home remodeling job done while you are living in your home is never fun. But Everhart is as good as I have seen in Houston, and I have remodeled and built homes in Houston five times in the last 18 years! I used a designer to help space plan, although the space planning Lee did was pretty good too. If you are planning to move major elements of your space, you might want to hire an interior designer (not a decorator) to help with your space planning. I used Design House in Houston (paid hourly) to do some sketches of a couple different designs, and ended up using one very close to what Lee had suggested. They did a great job - their decorator was extremely helpful with color and material selections (I used Ferguson's for the bath hardware and Build.com for my tub - which was delivered to the Everhart location for me); their crew was pleasant to work with, and tidied up every day after work; they asked if they could work on Saturdays, which was very nice; the cabinetry is solid and well-made; I did not have to wait days for "the plumber" or "the electrician" or some other sub to show up to get the project moving - their project management is quite good - very few days of "no activity"; if I had any questions or concerns, Alex would respond within a day - for instance, we planned on moving some electrical that could not be moved, and he showed me why; when they did the final clean-up I noticed they used a low trailer (instead of the big truck used for the demo) - and they completely covered it so nothing would blow off; they did a lovely job cleaning the bathroom (love the Fabuloso!); I paid 40% at the beginning, 40% in the middle and 20% on completion - which was fine with me. It took about 3.5 weeks; I had to delay the start date because of travel and they accommodated me easily. Are they the cheapest? Nope, but they are also not the most expensive, and to have good people with good workmanship doing the job in a reasonable amount of time, and who are responsive to your concerns is worth it to me. I won't recount my horror stories with other construction companies, but they are legion. My advice? Interview at least three companies - and make Everhart your last stop!! We start on my kitchen just as soon as I can get the stuff moved out of there. . . And they'd probably help me with that if I asked!! (Which I won't because I am a picky control freak). Pictures of my bathroom will be up on their website, per Alex - and I don't have any "befores" - so if you want to see them, it is the bathroom with the mirrored doors, the cave-like shower done in brass, the ridiculously low sofit-thingies and the sickly brown color. It was easy to work with Nick and Alex on our bedroom remodel. Nick was extremely helpful in helping us to refine our ideas. Alex did a great job on the project which started and ended as scheduled. We had a final walk through and Nick sent Alex back to clean up a few things we found during the walk through. All in all this was a great experience for my first time using a contractor. I am usually a do it yourself kinda guy but time and scope of the project didn't allow that this time around. I would recommend these guys! read more

Scheduled an appointment for kitchen remodeling and my husband came home from work early so we could get things moving. Five minutes after the appointment time I get a call and a voicemail asking me to call David Rodriguez. He doesn't tell me if he's lost, running late, or not coming. I call back and am sent to his voicemail. Thirty minutes after the appointment time he calls and tells me he can't come because his office overbooked him. Would I like to reschedule? I can only imagine the construction delays with a company that can't handle simple scheduling and appropriate customer communications. Bottomline: If a GC has difficulty communicating and scheduling they're not the GC for me! read more

It has been just over a year since Everhart did the remodel of our 3600 square foot home. Since it was such a major remodel, I reached out and got bids from over 7 contractors. Everhart's bid was not inexpensive but it was not the highest bid and we truly feel we got an excellent final product for what we paid. We also like the way Everhart broke down the cost and pricing for each thing they were going to do so we understood exactly what we were paying for. They worked with us on timing and coordination of getting the upstairs remodeled first so we could live there while the downstairs was gutted and being done. Their workers were very professional and friendly. We were not always happy with of some of the subcontractors that they used, but that comes with the territory and Everhart always made sure that as each step was completed we were pleased with everything. We loved working with Alex. He returned your text/email/phone call within a day. And, even thought the year warranty had just expired, I reached out to Alex for a minor issue and he sent one of his folks the next day to fix it. I love my kitchen and my master bath plus my wood tile flooring. They did an amazing job and we would hire them again. read more

We had our bathroom remodeled back in 2012 by David (the project manager) and Gus (the crew lead). Everything was done on schedule with good quality work. Gus also made some recommendations along the way that makes the remodeling looks and functions better. Recently, the hinge for our shower door was somehow getting loose/damaged. I called to try and find out the brand and model of the hinge so I can order and get it replaced. The phone operator put me in touch with a project manager, Nick, right away. Within one business day, Nick got in contact with the glass door contractor and had him come over to replace our hinge. I was impressed with the customer service even long after the remodeling work was completed. I will definitely consider them again if we have another remodeling project. read more

Our experience with Everhart Construction was extremely positive. We did a complete remodel of our 3-bedroom house, and we added on 500 sq feet. The result is stunning. It was extremely helpful that the architectural vision and the building are all under the same roof. Alex Diaz oversaw our project. Alex was there all the time, he understands every aspect of the work, and he did much of the carpentry and tile laying himself. Everhart Construction did a wonderful job with our initial remodel of our townhouse 2 yrs ago, so we did not hesitate to contact them for our post Harvey rebuild. We got our kitchen back which is my favorite part of our home, they gave us a beautiful half bath and we also hired them to stone our fireplace which was something my husband and I have been wanting, we love it and get many compliments on our home. Less than one star would have been better. They came to my house and bragged as to how good they were. After some discussion we allowed them to do the work. I did some basic stuff like the demo and things like that. They sent in workers and only one of them spoke English. So when something was wrong....They couldn't understand you anyhow. We picked out our own suppliers for the countertops and we already had our own fixtures. About halfway through the job the Everhart workers removed our cabinets, and removed my air conditioner line that was tied in underneath the cabinet. Well in the middle of summer and my AC running the my new cabinets and the bathroom filled up with water. I had to drain the bucket about every two hours. When they came back to work, and ruining my cabinets the owner of Everhart came to my residence. He explained that they didn't want to finish the job, but would like full payment of 19,000 dollars. We refused to pay, since we had half of a bathroom and ruined cabinets. We settled on a fraction of the cost and they left. We had to finish the bathroom ourselves, and I had to sand the ceilings, since the sheetrock guy attempted to match my ceiling texture by slopping about 4 inches of texture on it. I can't say this loud enough....STAY AWAY FROM THEM. They will sell themselves up and hire the cheapest Mexicans they can find so they bring home more money..... read more

Wish I had read the other reviews before calling Everhart. They are getting 1 star, only because the representative did show on time. We wanted a whole bathroom remodel, and had researched the cost of everything, so we wouldn't be surprised by their quote. Without taking measurements or showing any design options we were told it wouldn't be less then $x amount. A little higher than we hoped, but not un-expected, so we asked him to go ahead and get an actual quote for us. He then said that he could give us a quote at that moment, and $x would be the final amount. Still no floor layout options, or even tile choices. It was as if he didn't want the job, so we didn't give it to him. read more
