    Oreo Pancakes
    Selena F.

A classic breakfast restaurant! My family and friends have been going for years now and we absolutely have to visit at least once a year. The service is always great, very friendly, and timely. They are currently renovating the fox point location, excited to see the results! Very open concept seating and will gladly accommodate larger groups. The food always tastes well and they have a well rounded type of menu from blintz, burgers, to skillet bowls. I've gotten the Oreo pancakes since I was a kid, always loved how plentiful the Oreos are and the texture is never soggy. Definitely worth a visit. They get fairly busy especially on weekends but wait times are never unreasonable.

We stopped in with a group of 5 on a Sunday morning and had a decently short wait. The service was fast and very on top of anything we needed and the food was all plenty tasty!

Not a bad little place but some of our food was served cold. A little bit mediocre all around. I think there are definitely better places for breakfast in the immediate area.

This guy, who is supposedly a manager, was so rude! He picked and chose which customers he wanted to seat, skipping those who were waiting for a long time. He sat a lone guy who just walked in at a table for two, before seating 3 different couples who were waiting over 15 minutes ahead of him! He'd refuse to seat an elder lady, because she was waiting on 2 people, but sat another group that came in 15 mins later who were waiting on 4 people to arrive. He was extremely rude to the customer and when questioned, he'd insult the customers and the staff! Sandy, our waitress, was amazing, however this idiot would scream at her and berate her for absolutely no reason. I felt so bad for her and the rest of the stuff! Food was amazing, but ad long this jerk is employed here I will not be back!!!

Manager that thinks he is better than anyone else in the place.

This place is horrible for customer service. The individual that claims he has been seating people for 30 years is a complete jerk! We walked in...put our name down...then proceeded to watch him seat a single guy that walked in 5 minutes after we did. Then he tells an elderly lady than he is not seating her until her entire party gets to the restaurant. I asked her if she wanted to sit in the booth seat they had for pickup orders and her response to me was "No because he will then really look over me". Then a young group of kids walk in...4 to be exact...he seats them. 5 minutes later 2 of their friends, female, walk in. They walk over to the table where the guys are sitting and talk to them. Walk back up front talk to the guy seating people and then all of a sudden he takes the two young female customers over to the table next to the young guys and sits them in front of others that were waiting. Then a single guy walks in, tells them his name, then this guy grabs a menu and utensils and proceeds to sit him at a table for two ahead of us! I then decided it was time to find out how he "seats" people. He tells me "in the order they came in". I proceeded to inform him that he was not following that procedure and he then says to me "I have been doing this 30 years". Well it's very apparent 30 years is 30 years too long that you have been doing this because your system sucks and your customer service attitude is also horrible! But with that being said they are lucky they have a great service staff and the waitress, Sandy, was very nice and honestly she should be running the front of the house! Shortly after we were seating we saw Wendy, who usually is at the front counter, and THAT'S who should be seating people because I have been coming here for years and she has always been pleasure dealing with.

Great breakfast/brunch diner! They have all the items you could possibly crave for breakfast & at reasonable prices. I'm pretty sure we got our food less than 10 minutes after ordering-- they are quick! The staff is helpful, and it's a "regulars" kind of place where there's lots of familiar faces and friendly interactions.

It was descent... not gone lie. I usually am skeptical about diner types foods but they came through with the Greek omelette. The place looked clean and had a cordial staff I'll be back for sure.

Local breakfast hub with friendly service and large servings. While it isn't urban trendy, it beats IHOP hands down.

Went in on a Thursday mid morning and was advised there would be a 45 minute wait (somewhat expected from other reviews). That said, it seemed like the wait was much less. Two in our party ordered the Big Wolf breakfast. I had mine with eggs over easy, sausage patties (came with 3 I believe), tavern potatoes and a single Johnny cake. Everything was delicious. The sausage was juicy and flavorful. The potatoes were like grilled whole potatoes that were then smashed down a bit. They were delicious. The Johnny cake was huge (size of a full sized dinner plate). Another in our party had the chicken biscuit which he said was very good, and that the chicken was very juicy (thigh), that also came with tavern potatoes. The last in our party ordered the Johnny cakes which came with 3 of the huge (think Uncle Buck sized) cornmeal pancakes. (2 togo boxes of them ended up coming with us), and a side of eggs. Everything was delicious and servings were very generous. Street parking in the surrounding neighborhood. Service was very attentive. Like many places in the area it seemed like a house that had been converted to a restaurant. Definitely recommend and be prepared for a wait depending on when you go. But it's worth it.

There was a little bit of a wait, but this wasn't anything unexpected, as brunch time on a Sunday is always going to be busy. They had a little area outside to sit and order drinks, so I ordered an ube chai. We were called in fairly quickly, and first off, the vibe is super fun. The music that was playing was also right up my alley. Second, the servers and service was quick, and third, the food was AMAZE. We had the steak and eggs, brunch burger, biscuits and gravy, and a side of Johnny cakes (they were bigger than our hands!). Everything was delish! The place sits kind of randomly in the middle of the neighborhood, so it definitely felt unique, and we were super happy to support. I hope to return sooner than later!

The side salad was good but I ended up not being a fan of the Apple Cider Vinaigrette dressing. My son ordered the Southern Chicken BLT which looked good and he thoroughly enjoyed. My husband ordered the Surf, Turf, & Yolk. He said it was ok but the Brussel Sprouts were too burnt. I also want to mention the servers were great even though it was close to closing time. Brunch It Up (possibly in the middle of rebranding to just "Brunch.") is a classic breakfast spot in downtown Milwaukee...we were there on a Sunday morning...high brunch time, and were seated quickly upstairs. The place had an overall run-down vibe to it...scuffed paint on the walls and a general feeling of not quite matching the quality of the upscale brunch spot implied by their modern logo. Menus...I normally don't comment on the menu itself but our table featured no less than 4 different menus...the regular menu, a drink menu, a specials menu and a mimosas menu...choices are wonderful, but the immediate reaction is this is a whole mess of menus on the table, and I don't know what to look at first. It felt haphazard. Let's move on to the coffee...Coffee is an essential part of the brunch experience. Even at a diner, you want it to be strong...the mug it came in was nice, but it was weak coffee. I need coffee to kick my butt, and if you're serving what's close to "browned water" at a breakfast place, you're missing the mark. How about the food? I can't fault them for the generosity of the portions, but will say individual dishes were way too much for my wife and I...we wish smaller portions were available, so so much didn't go to waste. My wife had the Egg and Waffle sandwich with waffle fries. It was fine. I had the Harvest Hash made with egg whites...the eggs were a little overcooked. (Egg whites require a thoughtful touch when cooking them so they are finished white and not browning all over.) There are plenty of fresh tomatoes, mushrooms, and peppers in there (I guess that's the extent of the harvest in Milwaukee) The hashbrowns it all sat on were undercooked. We were excited about the croissant beignets...Available were the regular ones with chocolate or strawberry dipping sauce, and a special with a fruit dipping sauce. They couldn't mix and match sauces, so we got the special. They were okay but a bit over-fried, losing the croissant texture altogether ...I mean, there's nothing wrong with deep-fried dough with sweet things to dip them in, but we do wish they hadn't fried the croissant out of them to give us the unique experience implied by the name. The menu has plenty to choose from...every breakfast savory or sweet thing you could imagine...and on the nicely designed, modern-looking menu at looks like it could be amazing...but everything we got, plus the experience of sitting in a place that felt a little rundown, left us overall disappointed.
