called for a price & they said that they had to come out to see. 2 weeks later they come out & unloaded the truck to start the sweep & i asked again what the price would be. they said $330 i said forget it. thats more than double all the qoutes being $125-$150. they said they understand, that they hear that a lot. several hours later the owner calls me & asked why did i have them come out & asked why i would ask if the kids did side work. the answer was simple, they were probably getting paid 20 - 25 dollars an hour & i would have paid them $150 for the 1-2 hours it would have taken them to sweep. read more

Selected them due to previous good reviews. While here they said the chimney damper broke. After they left I discovered they also broke the gas line coming into the fire place but before the pilot light assembly. If I would have turned the gas on there was nothing to prevent it from filling the fireplace until I shut it off. A potentially very dangerous condition. When I called to have damper replaced they wanted $400 (this is about a $100 item) and denied breaking the gas line. Not a recommended service company based on my experience. read more

So disappointed. Called specifically to have our chimney flue in a new house looked at, Max asked me to send the inspection report which I did. Was told they would review prior to our appointment to see what the issue was that the inspector called out. Guys showed up, cleaned my chimney and charged me over $200. When I asked about the flue, was told they were never even made aware of it and they would go back to the office and check the inspection report. Never heard from them again until I left a message for Max and he told me he hadn't received my inspection report. Why wouldn't he alert me to that then before my appointment? Would never recommend. I *finally* received a call back from this chap. Not only was he incredibly rude, but he bent our gutter with his ladder and disregarded me when I asked him to leave. He told me if I wanted him gone to call the police. I informed him that I would never hire someone like him, so he decided he was going to take his time and hang out (putting his ladder away, checking his email and sitting in his car--which was blocking my driveway--and looking at the beach across the street). We recently purchased a 100+ year old home in New Haven and, on the recommendation of our home inspector, wanted to get the chimney checked out before we started using it for the season. I found Max on Yelp and decided to go with him due to his high ratings and reviews, which were spot on. Max was able to set me up with an appointment within a week. His crew of 3 were were right on time, highly professional and were in and out in just over half an hour. They use a mess free system so there was nothing to clean afterward and I didn't have to move everything out of the living room! They also inspected my central chimney that serves as the exhaust for my water heater and radiator system. At the end they gave me recommendations for continued maintenance, safety, an overview of what they found and some great online resources.
