The installer they recommended and use (3rd party Pro Gas) never gave us a quote for the install, never booked an appt and would just randomly show up at our house expecting the fireplace to be ready for install. Once my GC got the fireplace framed their installer randomly showed up to finish whatever work he needed to do without sending me a quote. When he went to do that work, he didn't tell anyone he would be there so our GC wasn't onsite and I got a rude call from a male employee at Yankee Doodle expecting me to know specific height details as if I were a GC. He was rude and kept pushing me to give him that information but I kept explaining I am not the GC I do not know, my GC is on vacation and no one told me they would be at my home today to do this. My renovation is a full house reno so we were not living there during the renovation so its not like I could easily be there whenever their installer decided to show up. Again, sad to have to write this review but they highly recommended Pro Gas (and said they still will after I gave them this feedback) and I'd hate to see other customers get slammed with a huge bill and no communication or approval for that bill.

Just this past week Richie & Charlie needed to use some extra elbow grease and really work at the creosote build up I had after apparently burning bad wood this past winter. They were fantastic from start to finish. Clean, on-time, friendly & educational as well. They even inspected my wood pile and gave me some do's & don'ts going forward. 15 years ago James "Jimmy" installed a gas furnace liner. Our story: Several months after buying our house last year 2016, we called Ener-G Tech to have someone come out to clean/service our 3 gas (propane) fire places in our house. Also make sure they were safe to use without any gas leaks with the old units. They answered our phone call and we got scheduled for them to come to our house within a few days. Paul showed up on time and did an excellent job servicing/cleaning our old fireplace units and also took the time to talk to us about perhaps a different operating unit that you wouldn't have to get on the floor to start the pilot light. A few days after he was at our house we made the time to drive to Stratford to check out their show room and see their gas fire place units set up and operating. (Great show room by the way!!) We fell in love with the idea of just a click of a button to start them! No more climbing on the floor trying to light them. Right their we ordered 3 new automatic starting units with a click of a button. A week later all units were in at their store and their contracted plumber picked them up and got scheduled with us to come out and install them. (Please note: We learned plumbers install the gas fire places because of the pipes.) Here it is, almost a year later after purchasing/installing these new gas fireplace units and we LOVE THEM!!
