I was not happy with this company. Marco came out to clean my chimney and was here for less than 20 mins. Told us we were all good and needed caps for the top of the chimney. He stated he would order them and be back within a few days. Ifollowed up with him and he schedule a date to be here and was a no show. He is unreliable and unresponsive. Avoid this company like the plague. We moved into our current residence ~10 months ago. During our first major rainstorm, we had a major leak coming from the chimney; it was pouring water into the fireplace located in our bedroom. With no other contacts or recommendations to speak of in the area, we found Duke's online an called for service. After it was "done," we expected no further problems. Two weeks ago we had another major rainstorm--and the chimney started leaking again, pouring copious amounts of water into our bedroom. We called the owner (Marco Duke) back immediately, and as soon as he answers the phone he say's, "Well, you never paid me." HUH (and "WTF")? Of course, we had paid him in full for his previous service and could prove it. He was BIG time annoyed with our call, and blamed us for "not having had the chimney water-proofed" as he had "recommended." When we said that it was leaking in exactly the same place and that we'd paid him to fix this very problem in the first place, he grudgingly said he would be by to check it out. He came out the first time and to say he was rude and disrespectful would be understatement. He told us that the chimney needed to dry before he could do anything, so we scheduled an appointment. He didn't show up. Made another appointment and he stood us up again. Made another appointment (notice a trend here?), and he said he'd be by on the day in question "in the late morning." He finally showed up at 1400--after texting us to ask for the address again (even though he'd been here three times already). This guy is unreliable, unresponsive, and unprofessional. He's rude and arrogant and completely disrespectful to his customers. Don't waste your time and money on this company. You'll be better off, far less annoyed, and get better service if you get somebody that appreciates his customers. read more

Great experience with Duke's - I needed a chimney inspection done for my homeowners insurance. Marco and his crew came by on time and texted the day before to confirm the appt. He is quiet on the phone but was friendly in person, not a big talker which is fine by me! The work was done quickly and he sent me an invoice for the insurance company that day. Made an appointment for a routine cleaning chimney service... seemed simple enough. The morning of the service, I waited until after they were 30 minutes late to give them a ring, to make sure they were still coming. The guy who answered gave a mumbled excuse and asked me to reschedule. If you would like to revolve you life around waiting for the chimney service to show up, then this is the place for you. If you expect reliable service, then look elsewhere. Chimney cleaning is a serious thing - were not taking about raking leaves here. I received bad news that my entire chimney needed to be replaced. I called at least 4 different companies and they all stalled in their responses and the pricing was pretty inconsistent from each estimate. When Marco arrived to my house he explained my chimney problem thoroughly. He was patient with my questions and gave me a super reasonable start date and price. From the "Yeah" greeting when I called to them not showing up for my scheduled appointment. I would not even give the satisfaction of calling them to see what was up after all of this. I had a crack in my chimney that was leaking into the upstairs bathroom. When I called Marco he came out a day later to check it out. He recommended that I also get a cap on the chimney in addition to the sealing of the crack. He charged me $300 for both which I felt seemed reasonable, considering that other places that I called wanted to charge me for just coming out to take a look! Although it was hard to get in touch with Marco following his initial visit to schedule for him to come do the work, I blame this on the recent weather we've had and probably the huge amount of work he has had to do. When I did reach him he was able to come out within the week. They finished within the day and were very accommodating and supportive with my schedule. I plan to work with Marco again when I need masonry work done in the future. Highly recommend! read more
