We used Alex Masonry to construct a stair walk which turned out beautifully. Our house is on an unlevel lot with a steep grade from the sidewalk to our front door stoop (about 25 feet). To ease the effort required to get to our existing sidewalk landing, we wanted a stair walk with long, level treads (about four feet). The final product surpassed our expectations! Having contracted with Alex seven years ago to redo our front stoop, we were familiar with his craftsmanship, and asked for a bid on this project. We hired Alex and his crew to do redo the pathway leading from our driveway to our front door as well as our stoop. Alex replied extremely quickly and was knowledgeable about different options and competitive in price compared to other mason's we contacted. He showed us different stone options available and encouraged us to go to a local showroom to look at types of stone and send him pictures of houses we liked. When we sent a picture of a house we loved, he knew exactly what stone they had used and provided honest and timely suggestions for how to create a similar look. While it took a little while due to COVID-19 to get the work done, we were not in a rush and when he was able to come he was present on site from start to finish and ensured we were extremely happy with the amazing job they did (finished in 2 and a half days). Heeding others' recommendations, we called on Alex Masonry for replacement and expansion of our front stoop (platform and steps), replacement of a badly cracked concrete walkway with pavers, and creation of a concrete apron at the base of side steps at the house. They came to look over the work to be done, and offered estimates for two different options, explaining carefully the benefits and costs of each. Accommodating our schedule, they came to the house again on a weekend, so we could see different pavers and choose our preferred color. When rainy weather delayed work, they came with a crew on Saturday and Sunday to complete the job in a timely fashion.
