Sammy is responsive, does what he says he is going to do, does it with pride, and at a fair price. He behaves like all contractors should, but unfortunately few actually do. He and his team replaced our chimney above the roofline and almost half of our shingles in one 10 hour day. I would have no hesitation in recommending him. read more

We've had an amazing experience working with Sammy. He's built us a beautiful, large backyard patio, completely redid our driveway retaining wall, and added a new perimeter wall all with excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail. Him and his team work quickly without ever cutting corners, and they truly care about making your vision come to life. Their work turned out so great that our neighbors have since hired them for their own projects. I highly recommend them for anyone looking for reliable, high-quality work! read more

Extremely rude and ill-mannered. If they have nothing else to offer, they look at you and talk to you as if you were a piece of s***.

Hired Sammy Construction this week to rebuild and repair a poorly constructed and failing patio. His response to my call was timely and professional. He arrived to do an esimate when he said he would and his knowledge and professionalism were exceptional. He gave me a fair estimate for the work and added excellent ideas to the project. They started and finished the work on schedule and the entire crew was hard working and knew their business. I was very pleased with every aspect of this project and it was a pleasure to work with Sammy and his team. They take pride in their work and it shows in the finished project. I would easily recommend Sammy to others knowing you won't be dissappointed. read more

Sammy Construction - This is our magnificently restored patio - Thanks Sammy!!! - Masonry/Concrete Near Me

Sammy's does great work. They built us a concrete patio & walkway which came out perfect. Very fast & professional as well. While they were here, they also noticed that I needed a new chimney crown, and they were able to get that done the very next day. They took photos of the old crown, and it was pretty much falling apart. It's a good thing they noticed the cracks because it would have led to a lot more damage to the chimney if it hadn't been taken care of. Great timing & coordination of both jobs. Highly recommended! read more

I cannot be sure that the fault lies totally with Sammy Construction. It may be shared with our property manager who is not known for hiring "best in class" or wanting to pay for top-notch service! BUT a word to the wise for Sammy Construction: you are known by the company you keep!!! Early the morning of the eclipse with none of the workers even wearing sunglasses (not that that would have been enough), and with NO notice until later that day, the 40 residents at our suburban senior apartment complex were rudely awakened by excavating work being done to our front sidewalk. From all the equipment, the number of workers, the fact a couple of cement squares were dug out, it appeared the project to renovate our sidewalk -- which surrounds all 4 sides of the residence -- would take awhile. I incorrectly assumed the workers would cordon off their work area at the end of the previous work day so residents would know to move our cars. NOT SO! The work continued on day 2 -- right in front of my car. NOTHING was ever told to me to move my vehicle. The workers slopped concrete on a SMALL area in front of my vehicle, getting the concrete ALL OVER MY VEHICLE! I didn't know this until I had to go out 2 days later. They reported NOTHING. Needless to say, I am livid! My anger over the condition of the front of my vehicle -- thanks to the sloppy work by the guys from Sammy Construction -- is matched only by my anger over how awful the sidewalk looks now after Sammy's guys patched it -- but only in SOME spots -- NOT EVERYWHERE. Again, if this is all our property manager was willing to pay for, Sammy -- and any professional contractor -- should have refused the job. It is the contractor's reputation, too! I have pictures to back up what I have written. If you saw them, I assure you, you would not hire these guys to do safety or enhancement work around your property. read more

Home run! Need a roof done, call Sammy, you will not be disappointed. Sammy replaced my 1910 house roof in one day, removed all layers of shingles, installed new plywood ALL IN ONE DAY. Came in with 30 men. Simply amazing. read more

Over the course of nine years I hired Sammy Masonry for jobs big and small, from shingling to clearing snow. Always punctual and professional, he and his crew also went out of their way to clean up after completing a job. Sammy, himself, was (and is) always pleasant and extremely considerate. There's not much Sammy and his crew can't do. His pricing is fair; his knowledge and skills extensive. The quality of work: thorough and excellent! And if requested for something beyond his area of expertise, he's more than happy to suggest someone who can get the job done. I've come to count on these suggestions not just because his recommendations have delivered quality work as promised, but because they all say the same thing I learned early on about Sammy: Few people are as sincere and have as much integrity. With his skill set, he could easily make a living sticking with only high-end jobs. But that's not Sammy. He'll happily work within any budget and then devote each and every job his full attention. In demand and extremely busy, even on the busiest of days he will still somehow, someway, find the opportunity to do what he can to meet the needs of customers past, present, or yet to acquire his services. I'll always be grateful to Sammy and his crew for the quality work done on my house over the years. As you can tell by this review, he comes very highly recommended. read more

If I said everything about how highly I thought of Sammy, you would probably think I was a close relative. Or being paid to say something nice. I will say though... that the work I had, was clean, that the estimate was a honest and thorough assessment, and that the price was very fair. He would have come for the estimate even after hours... that is the type of person he is. Not a large company... yet, or maybe they keep it that way intentionally. Just the kind of person you will want to do business with! I can promise you that! read more

This is the first time I can't wait to write a review of a contractor I hired to do work. Sammy was contracted to replace my brick front stoop that was collapsing. I do not know Sammy other than from the ratings and reviews from Angie's list. Sammy gave me a very reasonable price during his initial visit n promised to do it after winter is over. As promised, Sammy n his crew showed up bright n early a couple of days ago. Work was progressing smoothly outside. Then I noticed a big water stain with water dripping down from my kitchen ceiling. Fearing pipe might be leaking from toilet above on the second level so I asked Sammy if he knew a plumber I could call in short notice. Sammy assured me he would be able to fix it. While his remain crew was working on the brick work, Sammy came in to check on my water damage. He was very professional n proceeded to take off his work boots before entering my house that I did not expect. Then he looked at the ceiling n went upstairs to check on the toilet. He told me it was mostly likely the wax ring. At the time I wasn't sure that was the real reason but since I haven't replaced the wax ring when the house was built 20+ years ago so I went along with it. He replaced the wax ring but water was still dripping from the ceiling below. He proceeded to rip out a big section of the stained sheet-rock n water collected above came pouring down. What a mess! After the ceiling came down with all the water, we tested the toilet n shower to make sure there was no more leak. Now we have this big section of ceiling that I need to cover up n Sammy told me he would be able to fix it n quoted me a very, very reasonable or even considered to be cheap price to fix the entire thing since he is already there. At that moment I would have agreed to pay any price within reason in such short notice but Sammy did not try to gouge me. His crew cut out the surrounding ceiling after they finished the 1st day of brick work. The next morning he n his crew proceeded to put up the sheet-rock n arranged for a taper to come in to tape n prep the ceiling for painting. While this was going on, the brick work was still proceeding as normal. Later that day, I was trying to replace a rubber seat in my faucet that was leaking for a long time. I was stuck because I couldn't loosen a screw cap to open up the faucet. I asked Sammy if he could help loosen the cap for me. Without hesitation n sans boots, he came in to help but the cap was so corroded that even he couldn't loosen it. I was resigned to having to hire a plumber to replace the faucet. I ended up with TWO brand new faucets (double sinks) when it was said and done! When I asked how much do I owe him for replacing both faucets, he told me to pay him 'whatever' which is highly unusual even though I bought the hardware but he spent over an hour in tight space underneath both sinks to remove/reinstall both faucets. While all these were going on, his crew managed to finish a nice looking front brick stoop within the 2 days time frame he promised me. After the stoop was completed, his crew came in the house n finished painting the ceiling while Sammy was replacing my faucets. I was happy with the new pretty front stoop but I was even more impressed by the professionalism demonstrated by Sammy n his crew. He could have easily said he couldn't do the plumbing and ceiling repair, which a lot of contractors would do or he could have asked for more money knowing the fact that I was desperately in need of somebody in such short notice. He could have turned down my faucet replacement work because there was no 'meat' in it. Not only did he finish everything as promised, he did it with a smile on his face at all time. Nothing seems to phase Sammy and based on this experience, Sammy Construction has just gained a long term customer. I have contractors who did good work for what they were contracted to do but nothing like Sammy n his crew. His professionalism is above n beyond the normal call of duty for a contractor. I recommend Sammy n his company wholeheartedly n I have a couple of big projects already lined up with his company this fall. read more
