My sister & I recently became customers of Max Muscle we love it! Kenny has been in the game for over 20 years so you can trust that all the products he carries are 3rd party tested & high quality. Kenny has great energy & genuinely cares for his customers! On my first visit we had a great conversation & he gave me some free MM merch. On my sisters first visit he offered her a free body composition test. It's those little things that mean so much to us as customers, we feel so taken care of & just started going! Highly recommend. read more

I tried this place for spray tanning and LOVED it. I had never been spray tanning before and wanted to try it out before my wedding. I had the girl spray me herself rather than relaying on a machine to get it done. This way they can make sure it's applied correctly and done well. The girl was very nice and I really appreciated her detailed job. I will be coming back here when I spray tan! read more

IF YOU WANT TO BE CHARGED UPWARDS OF $15-25 MORE FOR THE SAME PRODUCTS THEN SHOP AT THIS LOCATION!! my boyfriend and I popped into this location last Friday on my way out of town. I purchased one large bottle of cleanse and lean and a protein bar. My total was $57. I knew something seemed a little off but since I was in a pinch and needed the cleanse the lean for my prep I paid and walked out. The bottle of cleanse and lean was $50...WOW! I NORMALLY I ALWAYS GO TO SEE JOHN IN SAN JOSE ON MERDIAN. I can buy the same exact product for $35 and he always gives his customers a 10%. He is honest and fair with his prices. I understand supplements are expensive but $15 more per bottle is ridiculous. Needless to say I will make the drive to see John in the future even though I live in Walnut Creek I refuse to be overcharged. Better luck next time. read more

Really disappointed by the way they treat their customers at this location. I've been a maxmuscle customer for years, shopping at different locations. When I bought some supplements at this location 2 years ago, the cashier asked me to sign up for the their mailing list for monthly specials. Usually I don't share my email address due to the high amount of spam, but I did. Came in 6 months ago for one of the specials they emailed me and the cashier charged me full price. When I mentioned the special offer, he said, "what special offer?" I told him I received their email for the Walnut Creek special, he asked me to see it so I showed him my email. All of a sudden he remembered the special and applied the discount?!? Today, I went in for the May special on Emerge and the cashier charges me full price? I told her it was on sale and she states, "what sale?" Told her the one I received an email about, the monthly special. She asks me what email? I told her the monthly special. She then asks me to show her the email?!? After she sees my email, she remembered the exact discount without any questions. I find it ironic that I had the same experience with two different cashiers, several months apart. If you don't want to sell a product at a discounted price, then don't email your customers about it. The owner/manager at this location is running an unprofessional and amateur business. Go to a different location or online if you want maxmuscle products. read more

I've been to Max Muscle WC three times, so this is not based on one single visit. (Visits are about 2 months apart) I follow MMWC on Instagram and always look forward to their great deals. They have competitive pricing which is good, but they lack in other areas. Store is clean and organized in different sections. Fairly easy to navigate around, but being in a crammed store with products everywhere leaves your eyes darting around. So with that being said, I go up to the front desk (and this is every visit) hoping I could have some help finding a certain pre-workout, or a suggestion in a isolate protein. I can wait up at the front counter for up to 10 minutes with no help, not even a 'hello'. There are always staff behind the register, however it always seems like they are more interested in talking to each other than helping a customer find products... One time I asked if they carried 60 serving in C4 in green apple and the lady rolled her eyes at me and pointed down an isle without leaving her spot at the front register to help guide me (and there were no other customers in store). I had to ask 'where?' so many times to annoy her enough to actually come help me. Maybe it's because I don't look like I work out? I don't know. But I wish they could help me find the supplements to help me achieve my fitness goals. I wish I didn't have to feel uncomfortable asking for help. I will still go there once a while. Only because this is the closest Max Muscle to home. read more

I decided to come here after reading reviews for it on here...and I was very happy. I wanted to know what they offered and the young lady was really friendly and nice and she helped me with what I needed to know about tanning & lotions. I was also interested in buying some protein powder and she was able to recommend a great brand. When I drove there, I parked on the street but there is parking in the back. The store was very clean and organized and a lots of variety of product such as protein powders, drinks, and other items. I was really satisfied and will be returning...I recommend this place for those interested in tanning and in supplements! read more

Made an appointment with Kathryn for spray tanning based solely off of other yelp reviews... so glad I did!! I have had some awful spray tans in my life... so I am always glad when I can find a place where I can get a good looking spray tan. My tan was a nice dark shade, and wasnt at all orange! It also lasted a good 9 days... which in my experience is rare as most other tans I have gotten begin to fade after only 5 or so days. I also really liked how the tan faded when it did begin to fade... it was easy to buff off around the area where it was fading so I didn't look all splotchy. I paid $39 for the tan which I think is VERY reasonable... I have paid much more for far inferior tans! If you buy 5 tans you get a discount to around $20 a piece... which I will absolutely be taking advantage of the next time I go in! I always thought it was silly that most places don't give you a discount when you buy multiple spray tans... so I'm glad to see that they do it here. The only negative aspect of the tan is that it seemed that the product stayed wet and rubbed off for longer than other tans I have received. I was probably about a shade lighter than I wanted to be after showering.... so I would recommend asking for a little darker than you want to be. Overall... I was very pleased with my tan. Thank you fellow Yelpers for this find! Finally have a spray tan place to call my own in the Bay Area :) read more

Horrible! Drove all the way here from Oakland on a Saturday to find it closed and the place was suppose to be open for another 1hr. What a waste of time. Other people arrived to find the same thing. They lost a lot of business today, sucks in this economy to not be open for your customers when your store hours says you are. read more

I've been to a few max muscles from Stockton, CA to San Francisco, CA. Out of the few this one in walnut creek had the worse customer service. I literally stood in front of the cash register waiting to be helped while the girl behind the counter had a conversation with another customer. (Not work related) Then looked at me as if I was just standing there for no reason and I had to ask if ether of them worked there. Finally I get some questions answered but decided I'll wait until I'm back in Stockton to grab my products. Rather stay loyal to that store then give any $$$$ to this location. Get employees who actually want to help. read more

Probably the best Sports supplementation store I have ever encountered. From the awesome staff members, to the quality nutrition products, and tanning beds, this place is a hassle free one stop shop. Staff members have Superior knowledge about all the products they sell, and what's products are out there in the market. You just walk in, tell them what your trying to accomplish and they'll set you up with the "best product for you," not them. The owner Ken Tali is a former competitive Bodybuilder, and sure does know how to run a primo nutrition outlet. read more

Shout out to Anthony for taking the time to adjust my supplement plan. I've been coming to this location for over 3 years and by far they are the best. Today was my first time going tanning in about 2 years, and after reading the reviews for Maximum tanning I decided to give it a try. I'm so happy I did, the staff is super nice, the place is super clean and bright, kinda has a spa feel to it. The sales person that help me was very nice, and helped me figure out what bed I should start out with since I haven't tanning in quite some time. After I was done tanning I decided to check out Max Muscle, to try to find a fat burning supplement to help me get some more energy for my work out. The girl that helped me took her time, explaining the difference with the products. I will defiantly recommend all my friends to come here. My new favorite tanning spot! read more

Every time I walk into this place it's always clean, organized and everyone is so friendly. However, I usually have been greeted by Kenny. Kenny is so patient, attentive and knowledgeable about all the products in the shop. He takes the time to listen to your needs and goals and suggests something he thinks would be best and benefit you. He never tries to oversell you anything. His customer service is outstanding. I have other places I could buy from that are closer to my home however, I prefer Kenny's knowledge, patience and customer. read more

This Max Muscle location is my go to for anything fitness/nutrition related (protein powders, supplements, carriers, etc). They have a pretty big selection both here, and at the Hercules location. I walked in for the first time to this store. Bad customer service. There were 2 girls and 1 guy working the front counter. They were probably in their mid 20s to mid 30s.
