I haven't been here in years, and it seems like they updated the inside. There's this big bar lined with TV's right after u pass the deli counter. It's definitely a place you can come and stay for a drink and food. We ordered sandwiches for take out. I like how you can really customize the sandwiches with all the options they have. It was delicious and a great size. read more

The atmosphere and interior are very nice and relaxing. I walked to the area of the 2 registers where there were no other customers besides myself. I was greeted but then neither took my order. Another customer walked up, grabbed a menu off of the counter and proceeded to place his order. I wasn't happy at that point! Upon returning home with my order of 2 corned beef sandwiches with provolone and mustard on Portuguese rolls, I proceeded to unpack my bag to find the sandwiches with very little corned beef. My guess is less than a half pound of meat. Needless to say I was extremely disappointed that I purchased these today. When you purchase 2 sandwiches and 2 pickles and the tab is $35 I expect to have a decent amount of meat on my sandwiches. That wasn't the case here. read more

Excellent breakfast place. The breakfast sandwich was delicious and fresh. I recommend and I will return.

I went there on a Friday evening and was hoping for a good deli experience for dinner, i.e. a generous sandwich with good quality ingredients, good service, and a clean table. Max Bibo was clean, and you order at the counter. The staff was friendly. I ordered a corned beef reuben. While the corned beef was good quality the sandwich was small. I ordered rye bread, and got white. The Swiss cheese was nearly non-existent. I think they put a thin slice of cheese in the sandwich, most of which oozed out during grilling. And lastly, they charged 13.99 for this anemic sandwich (and pickle). I've had far better Reubens at any diner in the area for less. So, very disappointing. If your looking for a deli, drive to Rein's. read more

First time visiting Max Bibo's and I was really excited! I had no clue that a place could be a bar, deli, restaurant and more all in one, really impressive! I decided to get a little bit of everything to get the full experience. I got a strawberry Iced Tea, which was a special, and really enjoyed it! For a sweet treat I got a pistachio croissant and sadly really disappointed with it. It was either old or prepackaged because the texture was off/was a bit stale, and the pistachio topping didn't taste right...however! the cheesesteak was really yummy and I did enjoy it throughly but I don't think I can justify the price point for it, which is a part of why my rating is a little lower. read more

Went to meet a friend here who lives right around the block but had never been here before. It's the perfect place for lunch! We sat at the bar and they took our orders without having to stand in line at the deli counter. They have a full bar, wide selection of sandwiches and sides, and really nice people who are happy to help answer any questions you might have. Great atmosphere with jazz music playing in the background. Just wish I had thought to take pictures, but we will definitely be making this one of our regular meeting places in the future! read more

This place is now under new management and a lot of changes have been made for the better! For starters they have a full bar. $8 cocktails can't beat that price so get there before it gets changed! They have a pretty sweet espresso machine so go get your fresh espresso martinis! Next great change is they DONT microwave their eggs anymore, now they have a Grill!! Sandwiches are great I tried the gobbler which I enjoyed with my pickle. Tried the wings Maxbibos way the flavor was delicious and the truffle fries are a must try! Staff is friendly. You can tell the people running the place are really passionate about what they are doing! They have some to go entrees that they offer which change on a daily. You can even just get your deli meats here as opposed to going to the super markets. If you have never been now is the time to go. If you have been but it's been a long time definitely come check out the new scene! read more

My husband and I visited on a rainy Saturday afternoon and were beyond pleased with our food, and the service. The deli staff was punctual and friendly, making our sandwiches in what seemed like only a minute or two. Aside from sandwiches we also grabbed some steamy Mac n' cheese and potato salad. Oh and rice pudding! I had the chicken salad sandwich and was in heaven with each bite. To note, I don't say that lightly as I'm quite picky when it comes to chicken salad... but honestly, you'd be a fool to pass on it! The potato salad... speechless. Seasoned so well, with a nice kick of mustard. I loved it, to say the least. My husband enjoyed his ham sandwich... in his words, "it hit the spot!" Mac n' cheese was decent and rice pudding was to die for. The overall experience was great. I've lived in town for most of my life and have never ventured in before... so glad we did. The new owners seem excited for the prospects of various updates and improvements. I look forward to visiting again soon. read more

Max Bibo's - Potato salad, Mac n' Cheese, Virginia Baked Ham, Chicken Salad, Rice Pudding - Delis Near Me - Wethersfield, Connecticut

I'm more familiar with Max Bibo's deli sandwiches and prepared offerings like their outstanding potato salad and tortellini salad than I am with their breakfast options. I can remember a time when many group work lunches were catered by MB. They did a quality job. I was near the Wethersfield MB this week and decided to try MB for a breakfast sandwich. The thing about preparing food in front of customers, is that they know exactly how you're making the food. Sometimes, that's great - table side guacamole or Caesar salad. Sometimes, it's not so great. Hello sausage factories. I want to emphasize in advance that nothing bad happened, but after watching the early stages of Max Bibo's making my bacon, egg and American cheese on whole wheat toast, I was prepared to dislike it. They first grabbed a container of mostly cooked bacon, removed some and stuck it in the microwave. Next, they cracked two fresh eggs into a bowl and stirred. At that point, I scanned the rooms and did not see a grill. I said to myself - Please don't microwave the eggs. Please don't microwave the eggs. They microwaved the eggs. And at some point, they added American Cheese to the bowl as well. I'm not a fan of relying on a microwave rather than a grill or a pan for breakfast items. I've seen it break bad too many times. To my surprise, the sandwich worked. The bacon was salty and reasonably crisp. The toast was buttery, which I don't need for a sandwich, but it was tasty. The American Cheese seemed a cut above quality-wise and it was perfectly melted. The texture and thickness of the egg wasn't my favorite, but it was decent and far better than I expected. I would order this sandwich again, and maybe walk around the deli and not watch them make it. read more

I have been here twice now under the new management. I tried the chicken gyro and the beef gyro. Both were delicious and filling. The price is great for how filled the pita is. The Mac and cheese is also very good. The food was fresh both times. They have an espresso machine, so I grabbed a latte as well. Standard pricing and quality. I stopped at Max Bibo's during my lunch break at work. The service was fast, but that did not mean my lunch was rushed! The presentation was top notch. The restaurant was clean and beautiful. The cuban special was delicious and I look forward to stopping by again when I am in the area. The bread was crunchy, just the way i like in a pressed sandwich!
