I pulled in and the gentleman who came to my window asked me what I wanted and when I told him he said well we only do inspections from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. which to me is amazing especially when it when recently no one had been able to get their vehicles inspected. Then, I told him I wanted an oil changed and he told me "well the is only two of us on so you are going to have a wait, because someone just pulled in and someone is right after them, it is first come first serve, so, if you want to wait you can". This struck me as odd because I did not see where he wanted me to stay with the way it was said to me. When I asked if anyone else in the area does inspections he said I have no idea I am not from around here and I left. I worked for businesses like this in the past, and I will tell as stressed out as I got I never spoke to a customer in that way to make them feel unwanted. I went there for every oil change and every inspection for the past 4 years but unfortunately I will but going elsewhere to do my business, that just turned me off. On another note I am sure he was probably having a bad day. That is not an excuse get out of the feild if you can not talk the pressure of the job. I am giving you am opinion right now and want you to decide on your own merit whether or not you would like to frequent this establishment, so please try it out you may have a completely different experience than I, but ask for me I am loyal to a fault but when I feel like I am no longer wanted I take my business elsewhere. Absolute ripoff artists. Went there for a simple state inspection. They told me my brake pads…read moreweren't good enough. They wanted over $1200 to remove 4 bolts per wheel and swap out the rotors and pads. They already had it on the lift with all the wheels off. At that point, it would have been a half-hour job and less than $200 worth of parts. I told them to put my wheels back on, and I'd do the brakes myself. Cost me $180 for parts. As I was taking the wheels off, I found They had cross threaded one of my lug nuts, which ruined the stud. They didn't even have the decency to tell me about it. I had to cut it off and go get a new one to install. The worst part is that while replacing the pads, I discovered they didn't even need replacing. They had way more than enough material to pass inspection, and the rotors were well within specs. I will never go to any Midas ever again. They're just another scamming ripoff shop.

I said yeah why not. They did it the second I left I get a noise from the back of my car. I went right back and they told me if it continues at the next service then I should go see a mechanic for it so I listened to their instructions and I come back with the noise still for the next oil change. They said bring it to a mechanic. I brought it to my mechanic and my mechanic told me my entire differential is destroyed. So I called the claim center and they started a claim and the person that did the work is the one who did the investigation. That person told me that they did nothing wrong and they're going to decline my claim. Meanwhile, I now have a $5000 repair to make for work that they did wrong. I escalated the claim and nobody else got back to me. They told me that they did nothing wrong and there's nothing more that they are going to do. Now I have to pay because of their mistakes. Imagine having a slogan as a service you can trust.

This is my third time at Monro Muffler in Rotterdam in the past two months. The first two visits were for tires on two different vehicles. They were able to accommodate me on consecutive days, which really helped me out. They gave me a great price on tires, better than other places I checked, and they offered recommendations at different price points without any pressure to go with the most expensive option. I appreciated that. Ed at the front desk was personable, helpful, and professional. I was very pleased with both appointments. Fast forward to this week when I needed my car inspected ASAP. I knew it was coming due, but I had a vacation planned and was going to handle it when I returned. A snowstorm messed up my plans, I could not get back when expected, and I had to cancel my dealership appointment. When I tried to reschedule, they were booked out a few weeks. A couple quick oil change places could not get me in until midweek either. I remembered my previous experiences at Monro on Chrisler Ave and called on my way to work. I told Ed I needed it done as soon as possible. He said he could take care of it that day and told me what time to bring it in. He got me in right away just like he said he would. It was done quickly and effortlessly. No attempt to sell me anything, just exactly what I asked for. Friendly interaction, great service, and consistency all three times. If I need tires, brakes, or mufflers in the future, this is where I am going.

Not sure why all the negative low reviews. I have been going to this place since I moves here 13…read moreyears ago. They always do me right. Never over sell and always ask if you want extra service. They even helped me when I had issues with a headlight problem and never charged me for it. Great car wash next to it included with oil change and everyone here is super professional. My go to oil change and inspection stop.
