Story time: My husband's subaru had a recall notice so we took it to a certain albany subaru dealership for recall repair and figured we'd give it a once-over and an oil change.

Turns out that the oil change she had done at a local Midas was botched. They forced the oil filter and cross-threaded it, cracking the seal and creating a slow leak. The staff at Keeler Honda flushed the oil system, replaced the filter and put in the right oil in quick order (I was in & out in less then 20 minutes). I bought my '12 Pilot for Keeler, and it has been hassle-free from Day 1. I would highly recommend buying or leasing your next car from them!

They're that bad. But you do have to buy a car somewhere so just go in there knowing exactly how much you should pay. Look at their own calculator. Look at Lia and Mohawk Hondas website and know what they are offering. Keeler will tell you it's apples and oranges but just make sure you're comparing the same or similar msrp. Also ask Chat GPT. Tell them msrp, lease term, etc and they will tell you what's good. Be prepared. Tell Keeler you live closer to Lia anyway after they insult your intelligence repeatedly. Actually go to Lia or Rensselaer if they get too ridiculous. They'll get more reasonable. Also. Confirm with them - "the amount down includes the first month payment, right?" Otherwise they will agree to an amount down and then the finance person will tell you you need to make your first month payment and pay the agreed upon amount down when you come in to pick it up. Just be clear when negotiating that when you say amount down, you intend for first month to be included in that amount. They use all the tricks. Just be prepared. I can't stress enough- do your homework. Accept nothing less than the chat gpt excellent deal.

Not fully aware of what this first service would entail, I stopped by a couple of weeks ago to inquire and make an appointment. It turned out that after the first year the only service requirement was the NYS annual inspection. I could have made the appointment online had I been familiar with the maintenance needs of an electric vehicle. I arrived today for my appointment and was met by Daniel at the service office after driving my car into the service garage entrance. He confirmed that the NYS inspection was all that my MINI needed and the cost would be $10. He also alerted me that if I chose to pay my bill with a credit card there would be an additional charge of 2.9%. I went to the customer waiting area which is adjacent to the showroom. There were comfortable chairs and a couch facing a television along with a table and additional chairs at the table for customers who might choose to do paperwork or color-in the provided car drawings with the crayons on the table. I sat at the table and worked on the sudoku puzzles I had brought to pass the time. An hour later Daniel let me know that my car was ready. I paid my bill and went out to my freshly washed MINI. Overall, a very pleasant experience. Even the restrooms were clean. I believe the next scheduled service is in another year when the cabin filter will also need to be changed along with the flushing of the brake fluid.

It cracked me up to see four cars had arrived ahead of me and two of the cars were identical to mine. I wanted to believe my car was the one of a kind. So much for that. I was concerned that the service would take forever. I was directed to a waiting room with comfy tables and chairs. Free coffee machines and snacks. Coloring books in case I was accompanied by a small child, but I was alone. The waiting area is located next to the showroom. A stroke of brilliance. While waiting, I could check out the new arrivals and scope out my next car! While I was prepared to stay a long time, but they had me out of there in under an hour. The inspection went well. The oil change turned out to be free under my maintenance package. That wood screw I found stuck in my rear tire? Too small to puncture the tread. The service technicians removed it without a fee. It was perhaps the best car service experience ever! I noticed some reviews that complained about service involved used cars. I empathize. My car is about a year-old. The outcome needed to be good. I was pleasantly surprised. It went better than I expected. Thanks, Keeler MINI.

I moved to Watervliet a couple of years ago but I still trek 15 miles to come here. Follow up - Here is why I love these guys. Through no fault of their own, Lia was contacting us Honda owners about faulty air bags. They would repair the air bags for free as part of the recall. Fair enough. Well clearly out to score from this, they did a ...wait for it...FREE inspection. Isn't that nice of them? Well surprise surprise... Lia found half a dozen things "wrong" they were so graciously happy to "fix". Things like a supposed corroded fuel pump, worn brake pads (which I just recently had replaced, and on and on. I said no thanks, and a couple of weeks later took the car to Warren Tire for an oil change. I asked them to run through the list while I was there. Guess what? Warren Tire said NOTHING on the list needed fixing. They could have charged me an arm and a leg and I'd never have known. I love these guys.

However, we have recently have had poor experiences with more involved problems such as brakes or electronic sensors. I have had my car in four times over the past year to have squeaking brakes fixed. They charged me once initially but the problem didn't go away. While they have consistently looked at the car, repaired problems and replaced parts that were warped and defective without charging me additional, my car's breaks still squeaks. This last time they managed to get it to stop (the parts were under warranty) but I question how long it will last. My wife has had problems with her ABS sensors, which has led to other related problems. Again, they charged her once initially and then replaced a broken part and then perhaps damaged another part, but despite taking it in several times they clearly haven't been able to fix the problem. And other issues have been caused related to this, which is frustrating. They fixed it under warranty again, but one has to wonder if the solution is permanent. I won't say that they can't fix brakes or electrical problems. They probably can. But, recent personal experience has been that they can't resolve our issues despite repeated opportunities to do so. They have always been friendly and cooperative in working with us to attempt to correct the problems... but at the end of the day the problems still seem to return. When I had issues with my muffler they recommended I go elsewhere which was a good idea. When I had fuel tank issues I went somewhere else too and that turned out to be the right decision. So, I still recommend them for basic work but am less confident about trusting them with more advanced problems.

I decided to take my car elsewhere and I am glad I did as there was nothing wrong with my brakes. I was told they were no where near failing inspection. This other place removed my tint and passed my vehicle without having to put new brakes/rotors on. Firestone completely lied to make more money off of me. Stay away from this place as they seem to lie about needed parts hoping you will believe them and pay for it. What a scam they have going on!
