i just returned from KisKis and felt compelled to write a review. I'm a woman attending UAlbany, originally from Queens, so I'm far from home. Recently, my car started making a clicking noise, which eventually sounded like nearby construction. In a panic, I called my uncle, a mechanic, who listed off expensive possible issues. I first went to Wallace Auto Shop, nearby, since I was nervous about driving it. They quoted $900 to replace the A/C compressor. With my uncle on the phone, he suggested a cheaper fix--a shorter belt--but they refused, which is no problem. My uncle then called KisKis, and Michael assured me I could come in. Already stressed, Michael reassured me that I wouldn't leave until it was fixed. As a graduate student with tight finances, I feared the worst, but the final cost was only $165. I was so relieved, and Michael, seeing me upset, treated me like his own daughter. The kindness and service were exceptional, and I'll definitely return if anything happens to my car. read more

Kiskis Tire - i even had some good company! - Tires Near Me - Latham, New York

Went there with 4 new unmounted tires and 4 tires on rims, off the car. Went in and sweet older lady was running the counter. I asked for a price for the job but she was writing details down in a book, there was a nice dog there, and l admittedly let my guard down by not getting prices however they were not listed anywhere either. Came back to a bill of $195.24! Tried to give a small guy some business, probably drove past 4 tire shops to get there, and boom.. there u go. read more

Kiskis Tire - The tragedy on 9/11/2024 - Tires Near Me - Latham, New York

Assigned to Albany NY for a few months, unexpectedly. Thanks Gov Cuomo. Had a low tire light come on for my Lexus. TPMS Kiskis happily checked my air pressure and 5 minutes later I was done for no charge. If I were to get permanently or semi- permanently assigned here this is the shop I am going to for tires. I have been going here for a few years now and my experiences have been nothing but positive. The staff in this family owned place are always friendly and positive. They will work with you to find a time to fit you into their busy schedule. If your wait time is short the waiting room is very comfortable. I have had my tires changed, my car inspected and various engine repairs. Recently, I had the unfortunate experience of riding up onto a curb and having my tire sidewall slash. I was in tears. I was able to have the spare put on by a very helpful volunteer. After thanking him profusely I drove right over to Kiskis. I had just had my front tires replaced a month ago so I was bracing for another expense. They were able to fit me in right away without an appointment. They found a really great deal for me on a new tire and since my inspection was due got that in too! I left feeling much better about my unfortunate accident. I'm a loyal customer. read more

These people are the absolute best. This is a great family business with friendly and (most importantly in my opinion) honest staff. I've been there for a few repairs and lights that came on and several times they checked the car free of charge because it didn't require anything to be done. They go above and beyond to help. For example, I had a couple struts replaced and 18 months later, the part had broken on one of them because of a manufacturers defect. I had since moved out of the area and called them when the local garage told me it was on the part. Jason looked up when I had the job done and we realized it was still under warranty. He spoke with the garage locally where I live a couple times to help me explain that the part and labor should be covered by Napa. On top of this, Jason then called me the following week to make sure that everything had gone okay and that I wasn't charged, as well as the part was working/sound had gone away. I honestly wish they were out here where I live now. These guys really are genuinely the best. read more

I wish I could give this place twelve stars. They've been my regular mechanic for a while now and I love them. Story time: My husband's subaru had a recall notice so we took it to a certain albany subaru dealership for recall repair and figured we'd give it a once-over and an oil change. They came back with a laundry list of issues totaling nearly $3,500.00 in repairs. Not trusting a dealership service center like a smart woman, I went to kiskis and told them what the dealership had said and had them look it over. To make a long story short, it did need some work, some of which was suspiciously fresh. They also told me that many of the other problems were not at the point where they needed to be repaired and there were even problems that the dealership hadn't caught. In sum, I only needed a $750 repair instead of a $3,500.00. one. I'm bringing them brownies when I drop my car off. The shop does all major types of repair except for transmission rebuilding (they do install new ones, as needed). They also sell tires. Bonus: there's a cute old pup that hangs out in the shop. read more

I've been buying tires from Kiskis for years and had nothing but positive experiences. Kiskis is a freindly and helpful local shop. I do almost all of my own work on my cars, but I bring them to Kiskis yearly for state inspections and occasional alignments. Once in a while I'll have them mount and balance tires. Jason has helped my wife out a few times when she had car issues while I was out of town -- once with a battery issue and another time with a tire repair. Recommended. read more

This place is owned and run by honest folks. I'm wary of auto shops and recently asked around for suggestions. Kiskis came HIGHLY recommended, so I researched online and found that they were highly rated by a ton of folks, so I went. Needless to say I was VERY pleased and this is now my go-to auto place. I will NEVER bring any of my cars anywhere else. If you like being ripped off, don't go to Kiskis.. if you like dealing with sleaze balls, don't go to Kiskis. If you're a female and have no knowledge of cars and want to keep being robbed, don't go to Kiskis. If you want the best service, and know that the family owned business you're bringing your car to will do the best job and will not rip you off.....I think you know where this is going. Bring your cars to Kiskis. You will thank me for it. I promise you. Story time. I thought my car was under dealer warranty so I brought it to the dealership and was quoted a $975 charge and yes I am aware dealers are more expensive. I called Jasen at Kiskis and he told me to come there. I was charged $315. Less than half. Tell Jasen Maria with the white Toyota Corolla who always has to get her tires patched from random objects showing up in them sent you. He will smile and very kindly help you out for less than you'd be charged elsewhere. read more

I typically don't post Yelp reviews, but my amazing experiences at Kiskis are worth sharing. I've brought my 13 yr old jetta to Kiskis three times so far for service- and they have always done wonderful work at a great price. During my second trip to kiskis I was worried that my catalytic converter was failing and needed replacement (my old VW dealer (nemer) had inspected the car and told me it needed $2k in repairs!). The kiskis folks looked the car over, found that the cat was just fine, and topped off my antifreeze- and didn't charge me a thing! Amazing. My last visit took place a few days ago- the temperature warning light kept going on, I thought there might be an oil leak, and there was a weird rattle under the car. Kiskis examined and serviced the car, finding that my 02 sensor had come loose and was rattling, went ahead and reattached the 02 sensor and... again didn't charge me a dime!!! Really quite unbelievable service, and the most honest car repair shop I have ever encountered. They are super nice and friendly as well, and have an awesome old dog in the shop who is just as friendly as the Kiskis folks. I cannot recommend them highly enough - they will be servicing my cars forever! read more

Recently I needed to have a tire repaired that had a tube in it. Not something everyone now a days repairs, except they were the ones that put the tube in first of all. Gave them the exact tube size from the old one. Now I don't live around the corner and it takes an hour to get there. First time I have someone else drop off and pick tire up. When I got it back it clearly had the wrong tube in it. The valve stem was barely popping through the rim. I again called and spoke with the owner and again gave her the tube size and told her I would be up in the next few days. When I arrived I showed the gentleman behind the counter the valve and commented that the tire should have never left like that. About a half hour the owner came out and informed me that they didn't have the right tube and it would be a few hours to get the right one. I left with the tire,no tube and no refund for the wrong one, not to mention my time. Will never do business with them again. read more
