I had to take my wife's '03 Element in for an oil change/repair when it started leaking oil all over the driveway. Turns out that the oil change she had done at a local Midas was botched. They forced the oil filter and cross-threaded it, cracking the seal and creating a slow leak. The staff at Keeler Honda flushed the oil system, replaced the filter and put in the right oil in quick order (I was in & out in less then 20 minutes). I bought my '12 Pilot for Keeler, and it has been hassle-free from Day 1. I would highly recommend buying or leasing your next car from them! read more

All car dealers are crooks. Keeler is no different. Just bought a car from them today. During our negotiations they wanted me to pay about $100 more per month than their own website would tell you you should pay based on the amount down, length of lease, etc. They'll act like they're really taking a beating at $20 per month more per month than their own calculator says you should pay. They're that bad. But you do have to buy a car somewhere so just go in there knowing exactly how much you should pay. Look at their own calculator. Look at Lia and Mohawk Hondas website and know what they are offering. Keeler will tell you it's apples and oranges but just make sure you're comparing the same or similar msrp. Also ask Chat GPT. Tell them msrp, lease term, etc and they will tell you what's good. Be prepared. Tell Keeler you live closer to Lia anyway after they insult your intelligence repeatedly. Actually go to Lia or Rensselaer if they get too ridiculous. They'll get more reasonable. Also. Confirm with them - "the amount down includes the first month payment, right?" Otherwise they will agree to an amount down and then the finance person will tell you you need to make your first month payment and pay the agreed upon amount down when you come in to pick it up. Just be clear when negotiating that when you say amount down, you intend for first month to be included in that amount. They use all the tricks. Just be prepared. I can't stress enough- do your homework. Accept nothing less than the chat gpt excellent deal. read more

I HATE THIS PLACE. Most recently took my car for service and at checkout just as I was about to swipe my card, I was told there would be a 3% up charge for using a credit car. Seriously!!! A car dealership that big has to charge a transaction fee. Sorry if they'd have to buy a smaller boat. So if I was going to buy a car and put a downpayment on my credit card of say $20K they would charge me an extra $600. Don't worry, sent a complaint in to the AGs office - consumer frauds. They will rip you OFF!!! Stay away!!!! I went in for my free inspection sticker ($21). They wanted to charge me $142.82 because they said there was a bulb burnt out and my wiper blades were tone about a 1/4 of an inch on the ends. My wipers worked perfectly fine!! They also said they needed to replace them with original Honda wiper blades that are a bit pricy - that charge would be $70!!!! Take notice of the charge on my slip - $43.67. Hmmm. Why did they say $70???? I did complain and they lowered the bill to $71.41. Check out my bill. I will not be purchasing my next car here! Post this everywhere you can. Review for service department only; I've been systematically going to area Honda dealers for my routine maintenance and Keeler's turn came up when I had to get both an oil change and a recall-based upgrade of the car's firmware. It's pleasant and clean, although the waiting area is a bit out of the way from the service center and open to the elements of the car show room, and unlike Mohawk Honda doesn't have iPads and Wifi to bemuse one. The service took too long; it's not that I object to waiting for two different tasks to be done, it's that when I get a time estimate for something as predictable as an oil change plus a software upgrade that's utterly straightforward, for which I've made an appointment, I don't expect them to be an hour off in the wrong direction. Time is money, as they say. Mandatory deductions for blowing that end of things. So I'd rate them minimally acceptable thus far and I'll keep them in the rotation (four more dealers in front of them though) until I find the magic dealership while the Honda's still under warranty. read more

I found my ideal car at a great price online. Initial response and conversation with the Keeler salesperson were great. The salesperson noted during our phone conversation that I was traveling a good distance and assured me they would not waste my time. I was given pricing for the vehicle as well as my trade-in value. I told the salesperson I wanted to proceed with what seemed like a good deal on what I was looking for. Although they offer "Express Purchasing" via their website, the salesperson stated that they would not accept any money without me driving the vehicle which I agreed was something I wanted to do. He asked "what my week looked like" suggesting to me there was no urgency. We agreed to meet the following afternoon. I arrived at the scheduled time promptly. Was kept waiting about 15-20 minutes while they finished with another customer (despite the appointment having been made). When it was finally my time to join them at their desk the salesperson pulled up my record on the computer and said "give me just a minute" which I knew would likely lead to a problem. He returned to the desk and informed me that "someone purchased that vehicle this morning". I had to take a deep hard breath and then asked why I had not been called so that I might avoid driving an hour each way for NOTHING. Before leaving enraged, I asked the salesperson if they were willing to find me a comparable deal. They responded that they needed to speak to their manager. I was then asked to join them in the sales manager's office. The manager attempted to offer me a list of excuses and then deny that I had been offered firm numbers during the phone conversation. To add INSULT to injury, when I returned home I received an email from the salesperson saying: "I just wanted to thank you for coming in today and allowing me the pleasure of helping you with your vehicle-buying decisions. If I can do anything else for you, please let me know. " You have got to be kidding me! Clearly Keeler Honda thinks very little of the consumer. read more

Went into lease a 2019 Honda Ridgeline. I said the terms of the deal that I needed which was 355 a month, with an 11,000 dollar trade in and 6,200 dollar pay off. Keeler Honda said they would be able to do it. We signed all the paperwork and was supposed to pick up the car the next day. An hour before I was to pick up the car I get a call and they tell me that my payment is going to be higher because of a mistake they made. Meanwhile I've already switched my insurance and made sure everything was good to go on my end. I asked as to why they are putting the consequences of their mistake on me and Keeler Honda continued to say they couldn't do anything about it. Instead of checking my tires for nails on a lift we added some air and sent me on my way. He yelled in my face because I insisted to check my tires and instead I left. So glad after I spoke with Mohawk HOnda and they offered to pick me up if I had a problem before I got home or pick me and my car up the next day if it took longer to go down. Peace of Mind! I moved back to New York from Virginia with a honda fit. I only wanted to go to honda dealerships to service my car. Eventually I will be upgrading my little for for something bigger so I've been keeping an eye out also for good dealerships to buy from.... Keehler definitely won't be it Around February 2014 I had my New York State inspection and oil change done by keehler. They brought up I needed new whipper blades and an air filter (which was around $100) which I was fine with. Being it was a semi new car to me but used I had no idea what the previous owner had done. Three months later so came back full a engine light on. The fix was $150, which was fine. They also instructed me that I needed new tires... Which I paid for. What also gets me is they said I needed. New air filter and brakes..... I brought up that they just changed my air filter and the brakes were just checked with my nys inspection. The service lady looked and said "oh yeah" then just kept going through my many repairs I should get done... None of which I got. Fast foward a few months after this... I get rear ended and I need to go to a body shop to get the repairs done. After calls to their collusion center and even sending in my estimate no calls back. This worked out for me because it's when I found Lia Honda. They have prompt service with both their collision center and service department. Almost a year past when Keehler said I needed new brakes and Lia disagreed stating mine were fine. I'll never go to Keehler again. They are money hungry theives. read more

I've owned my 2019 CRV for 3 months and have experienced a dead car 4x's. Really unhappy with the customer service at Keeler. Very dismissive and they were trying to place blame on my DashCamera for the dead battery. It took 2 tows and many angry phone calls to dealership to replace defective battery. Update: a day after writing this review my car had to get towed once again to Keeler with a dead battery. Dealership is taking responsibility and has known about the electrical defect for this model for some time. read more

Brought car in for NYS inspection had a 9 am appointment time arrived at 8:45 am still waiting at 10:15 in customer lounge went to check on progress only to find out car was not brought in yet?!! Finally got car at 10:35 So an inspection that should last about 20 minutes turns into a 2 hour debacle. Apparently appointments mean nothing to these guys. Only came here because we've bought and serviced our car here in the past when they were good but never again. The only explanation we got was they dropped the ball??!! I bought my new car from Keeler Honda. The sales experience went smoothly, and I have been coming to the dealership for years for inspections and tire swaps. About a year ago I discovered that their service shop transformed into a shady, dishonest and almost? criminal business. Criminal in a sense of endangering clients' lives for the sake of profits. Twice a year I was swapping winter/summer tires on my Honda. Last year, few hours after the swap, my tire pressure sensor monitor (TPSM) came on. I checked the tire pressure - one of the front tires was overinflated by almost 10 PSI. And that was the morning after Keeler Honda swapped my tires. When I returned, they suggested that I replace the sensor. I was outraged, because the sensor malfunctioned only after they worked on the tires and overinflated one of them. After a heated argument, they replaced the sensor free of charge. Come this summer. One of my front tires slowly was loosing air. Keeler specialist advised me to replace two TPSM sensors for more than $300, claiming that one of the sensors was letting the air out and another one was defective. That seemed unreasonable to me and I refused the service. They offered to inflate the problem tire (it was only 5PSI lower than the norm). I agreed. When they were done, I (remembering the past problem), decided to check the tire pressure. To my shock, it was again about 10PSI overinflated! Next morning I discovered that the motor oil was dripping from the wheel well. The engine oil level was dangerously low (practically at 0). This time I went to a local trusted mechanic (who is always very busy, but luckily found time to check my car). The result: One sensor replaced for $100 - no more issues with the TPSM monitor and losing air. Engine oil wiped off the underside of the car and the wheel well. There was no leak anywhere - the oil was spilled at the dealership. I almost lost the engine, because I discovered the oil spots under the car by pure accident far away from home. It was a weekend, and all I could do to get home without burning the engine was to buy oil and pour it in myself. Needless to say - I will never go to Keeler Honda for any reason! read more

The warrantee options are insanely good! I paid more than double for my warrantee at Nissan and got 40k miles less coverage. Plus, the warrantee includes 2 years of roadside assistance! Summary: In the 5 hours I waited for my car, Keeler didn't even start working on it. The Service Manager's reply was "the appointment time doesn't matter. That is just so I can schedule my technicians for the day". I made an appointment with Keeler Honda using the service appointment form on their website. There were three items I wanted serviced; two recalls and replacement of the driver's side tail light. I also checked the box that says "I have questions about my appointment. Please call me." I never received a call from Keeler, so I assumed they had all the information they needed. I arrived promptly at my appointment time of 7:30 am, which is the earliest time Keeler accepts appointment for those who are waiting for their car (as opposed to dropping it off). The service advisor said he only had information about 1 of the recalls and nothing about the tail light. I told him all the information about the recalls and the tail light were submitted when I made the appointment. I also provided him with the recall documentation that Honda had sent to me. I told him that I had to have the car back by noon because we were leaving for vacation and to please speak with me if they weren't able to complete all 3 repairs so we could prioritize them. The service advisor acknowledged this. At 10:30 am, I hadn't heard from the service advisor so I tried to locate him. I was told that he was busy at the moment, but he would be back in a few minutes and would contact me. I still hadn't heard from him by 11:30 am, so I tried again. I was told the service advisor was now at lunch, but the service manager was going to walk to the service area to get an update on my vehicle. By 12:10, I still hadn't heard from anyone at Keeler and I had to get my car to leave. The service advisor was back from lunch at that point and went to talk to the technician working on my car. When he came back, he said that the tail light wasn't in stock so they would have to order it. I told him that I specified the part I needed 10 days prior when I made the appointment and he replied that there was some other department that handled the online service requests and they didn't tell him. I mentioned that that no one called me back even after I checked the box on the online form asking for a return call. Again he blamed another department at Keeler and that it wasn't his responsibility. I reminded him that I told him in the morning that I needed the car back by 12pm and he replied that the technicians are another department that he had no control over what they do. I'm not sure if Keeler expects its customers to directly contact the service technicians and the appointment setters (for lack of a better term) to convey this information because the service advisor made it clear that it wasn't his job or responsibility. I asked him to just put my vehicle back together because I needed to leave. That was when he told me that they hadn't even started looking at my vehicle yet. I couldn't believe my car was there for over 5 hours and Keeler hadn't even started working on it. At 1:41 I received a call from the service manager at Keeler and he said he was sorry, which was followed by about 5 seconds of silence as if he was waiting for me to say "it's okay". Finally, I told him that I made an appointment for 7:30 and asked how nothing was completed during that time. He said that the appointments are just so that he knows how many techs he needs to schedule for that day and it didn't matter what time I made an appointment for. Please do not waste your time going to this place. I also purchased my new vehicle from them last year. They titled my car in my middle name AND added Honda Finance as a lien holder even though I paid cash for the car. Both were straightened out by Keeler within 30 days of me notifying them, but they sell enough vehicles that I'm surprised they could make two mistakes like this. The one good thing I can say was that Keeler's price was the best I could find among over 20 dealerships on a brand new redesigned vehicle. read more

I have 3 small scratches and paint chips on my Accord that I was looking to have fixed. I wanted to come to Keeler because I bought my car from them, I've had service done with them previously, and I trusted them; however, I live in Boston and also use my car to get to work on a daily basis. I called ahead to see if they would be able to get the work done within a week if I took the time off from my job. The lady who answered the phone and scheduled my appointment assured me it would be able to be done. I asked if I needed to send pictures and asked again to confirm it would be possible, explaining to her that I only had a week and would need my car in a week to get back to Boston to return to work. She assured me it would be done no problem and scheduled me to bring the car in Monday at 11am. At the appointment I'm given a quote (it seemed high, but that isn't even the issue) and am told it will take 5 days and that I cannot drop the car off that day because they are completely booked. I ask if they would be able to have it done by the weekend, explaining how I took a week off from my job and drove from Boston after being assured it could be done, and I'm then told it won't be possible. All they say is "sorry you shouldn't have been told that." I started bawling. It's unacceptable that I drove over 350 miles roundtrip and used one out of only two weeks of my vacation time, and all they can say is sorry, which frankly just is not enough. I feel that they could have accommodated me and taken responsibility for their mistake, and if they absolutely couldn't do it that week, maybe offered a small discount or offer for the future to show that they were in fact sorry. But all I got was "sorry" and it sure didn't seem like anyone there was sorry at all. You should probably hire someone to answer your phones who doesn't lie to customers and give false promises. read more

Keeler seems to have since sorted out their Yelp pages from each other, so my review was removed when it ended up erroneously assigned to their "Mercedes Benz Center," but it remains a warning that anyone considering doing business with ANY Keeler company, particularly their Honda Dealer and Service Department. ____________ About one year ago, I brought my car in for an oil change and was informed by Keeler that its hood latch needed to be repaired. I paid them to repair it. This autumn, I went in for another oil change with a Honda dealership in Illinois and was informed that the hood latch was on its way to being seriously broken and that I should take it to a body shop for repair. I did this, and the shop informed me that a bolt was missing from the latch--precisely what Keeler has recorded it had fixed--and that this had contributed to the other two bolted area being put under such stress that metal fatigue made the chunks of my tie bar that they were attached to fall out. It is very lucky that my hood latch didn't fly open when I while driving, blinding and potentially seriously injuring myself and my car. After this report, I went to Keeler, asked to speak to the service manager, and asked for the description of what they'd done to the hood latch--which he read to me. It was verified that they had "fixed" the latch, charged me for it, and that in fact what they had written was that they had replaced a bolt... when what was wrong was that a bolt was missing. I asked for my money back as this clearly had not been done. The service manager asked me if anyone else had opened the hood in the intervening period, and of course other Honda Dealerships had--to change the oil--and then said that, though no one else had worked on the hood latch, someone else could have been responsible. Since anyone would have been obligated to tell me if they had worked on some part of my car I had not spoken with them about, and only Honda dealerships have worked on my car, I asked him if he was saying that one of them sabotaged the latch for some reason. He said he wasn't accusing anyone but admitted that that was the implication of what he said. I think it's very unlikely that something like that happened. When I asked him for a copy of the service summary, he told me that he wasn't sure they still had it, that he'd certainly try to look... until I reminded him that he had just read to me from it and that it was on his computer screen right in front of me. He backpedaled and said he was sorry he didn't have a more detailed report anymore. I doubt he ever did. This struck me as slimy. I admit that I cannot prove beyond the shadow of a doubt that Keeler is responsible for this, but it is the only reasonable explanation. They refused to give me my money back, which in proportion to the danger they put my person and property in is a pittance. I on principle do not wish to pay for services that were not rendered or which were rendered in such an incompetent way as to place me in this situation. It's important for others to know how this "award-winning" dealership deals with its customers. Saratoga Honda has done right by me and Mohawk has dealt well with my family--which has had its own horror stories with Keeler--and I strongly recommend going to one of them instead, even if it's a longer drive. read more

He's got 4 winters on a civic- 2nd season maybe 2,000 on the tires. Then tried to sell him all seasons. When I went to pay I was told that I could not use a jiffy lube coupon as I was promised on the phone as they were not a competitor. When we drove all the way to Keeler and ready to buy the car, the manager said he would not offer the price. The store manager was rude and did not have any integrity. It only makes me wondering what their service would be if I bought the car there. I am glad that I didnt make any purchase there, and will never ever visit this store. There are so many Honda dealer in the nearby area, I am surprised this store hired such a terrible manager to harm the reputation of this store. Although Scott, the sale person was a good man. He went above and beyond to present the car to us and to get us a reasonable offer. He had over 20 years of experience and known the stuff he was talking about. I am just feel sorry that such a good person is in a terrible hand. If Scott is in another dealer, we probably would have made a deal. What a pity. read more
