Blew out a tire last week. Put spare on and picked the closest tire spot to where the flat occurred. Unfortunately that was Mavis. Although the people were fine, whoever did the work did not even match the size of the new tire with the other three. I suppose it is on me to double check, but not being a car guy I expect the experts to at least use the correct size of tire. The manager said this won't have lasting negative effects on my car, but I won't be frequenting a tire shop that can't even get the size right. I was driving a tire that was significantly smaller than the three others for about a week before I noticed it. read more

They did a complete front and rear end suspension replacement on 240Z. Unfortunately they reversed front and rear spring which makes front run very high and bottoms out in back. This was obvious when I picked it up and I was advised they may settle in. Beyond the bottoming-out fender damage which I did not discuss with them, they refused to swap correct front-to-back. They basically took position that incorrect installation of springs, which are marked on the top F and B, was my problem and required second labor charge. I was a long-time customer who will not return. read more

Called in AM to get a tire repaired, they said to bring your car in at 1:00 pm and we will get you in. Show up at 1:00 and the nasty old man behind counter says it's at least a 2 hr wait.i couldn't wait so I go back to my truck in parking lot to make phone call and another nasty old man who works there is questioning on why I'm there in parking lot.I'm surprised you have any customers with that attitude. read more

Mavis Discount Tire - Tires Near Me - Patchogue, New York

The staff at the patchogue store always take care of our cars. Thank you for your patience and hard work.

I went for a simple oil change last week while there I saw some things that will make this the last visit for me, my family and if I can my friends Scott and Tim where disgusting Scott's shirt was hanging out of his pants showing his huge crack and Tim oh Tim was the worst the way he talks to his mechanics and other customers was down right wrong that was the worst experience I have ever had at an auto repair shop. (P.S. Please give those guys a raise because what ever you are paying them its not enough.) read more

Would not go back here. Was new to the area and needed an oil change and my car inspection done. I was there for 4 hours with an appointment and the front desk staff was rude and dismissive. After my car was finally "done" I drove off only to have it make loud noises because my tire wasn't put back on properly. When I drove back to tell them they seemed more annoyed than anything like it was my fault they messed up. read more

Brought my car to Mavis in Patchogue, NY what a great place, I dropped it off early made my reservation online, they worked on my car all day, called me when it was finished. Brakes, tires, wheel alignment all done beautifully. Would recommend this place to anyone worth every dollar spent. Big thanks to Rob, Scott and Lamont they kept in communication with me and assured me everything would be taken care of. Will return for service when needed! read more

Made an appointment for an inspection, got there and was told that it will be at least 2-3hrs of wait. What is the point of making an appointment then? The front staff was extremely rude as well. Will not go back there nor recommend this place to others. read more

Almost crashed my car on Sunrise losing control. They claimed they aligned my existing old tires. Apparently they wrote on my receipt I needed new tires. I was unaware of this as I waited 3 full days for them to do a simple alignmnt. Run don't walk elsewhere. Hopefully Goodyear performs! read more

I made an appointment 3 weeks ago to have an alignment and a balance. I just walked in and the guy at the desk just walked away from me and didn't say anything. Finally I told him I was there for an appointment. He told me it was going to be a few hours before they could look at my car. What's the point of making an appointment if they aren't going to hold up their end. I will never go back there and would not recommend to anyone else. read more

Worst customer service EVER!! Why the hell ANYONE would go there is beyond me. They will IGNORE YOU at counter and when you finally get a question in they act like you're bothering them. Took my business elsewhere and would advise all to do the same. You've been warned!!! read more

Made 1 o'clock appointment at 11am they told me no problem come on in at 1. (Inspection) get here and they tell me a 2 hour wait. Take a hike Mavis read more

This place is the worst. The customer service is atrocious. Standing at counter, being ignored, then the guy looks at me and says "yeah?". I guess that's their version of "may I help you?" Everyone here is rude and obnoxious. They sell you things you don't need, quote prices then overcharge you. I had a nail in my tire and they told me it couldn't be patched and the tire for my car would be $180. For one tire. Left, went to a local tire place, and they patched it for $8. Tire still on my car, in great condition. Recently blew out a tire on 112 and they were the closest shop and open on Sunday. Was quoted a price, told the guy I wanted the cheapest tire which was $79. They put the $110 one on and charged extra for balancing, etc. it was cold and now 5pm, so I paid and left and will never ever come to this crap shop again. Do not get your car repaired here!!! read more

I called. They said 30-45 minutes to change a tire. 2 hours later I'm still waiting. Needless to say I won't be coming back. They should have told me I'd be here this long , when I said something they barely acknowledged me. read more

Always something with them they 2 minutes away from me yesterday I call them because when they did my oil changed they overfilled my car so I need them to drain the excess oil they guy tell me 20 dollars over the phone but why they made the mistake but I go there and he tells me that I have to bring oil in case they drain to much w $#@\ after im on this situation bcs of their mistake I would never use them again. read more

Where to start. Came in for an oil change and it took lots of complaining and over 50 minutes later to even get my car in the garage! Yes they said there would be a bit of a wait but almost an hour?! Come on. When I said something I was barely acknowledged until I raised my voice. While I was here I heard from other customers complaining about the lateness and other issues too. Save your time and money. Don't come here! read more

They incorrectly diagnosed my car's problem and sold me over $500 of unnecessary repairs. Finally I went to the actual Dealership service shop where they located completely different diagnosis and solved the problem for $270. DON'T WASTE MONEY HERE. I might buy tires from a discount center again (not this one though), but I will never attempt any other services. AMATEURS. read more

Went to this store for a oil change rotation and inspection. Suddenly there were brakes, tires, wiper blades that were needed to pass inspection. Run from this clip joint as fast as you can! read more

The only reason I gave one star is because that's the lowest. The worst customer service, and forget if your a female. The only reason i came back is because i had work done and it still wasn't driving right. As I was sitting waiting for an extremely long time, I heard the way they speak differently to different clients. Mine was to fix a possible screw up , and I stated I needed it done quickly as I am leaving for vacation. (Nothing, not even a "we will try". A guy comes in after me and say I need it quick. "We will do our best" ... read more

Terrible customer service ordered expensive tires they called me the next day went down to the store and waited 20 minutes at the counter without one person asking me anything. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE EVERY TIME I GO THERE. I have been going a few years , with my brand new car now, plus previous years with other cars. They are honest, fair and very friendly read more

Horrible customer service, they don't back up their warrenties.Bought a new car battery there lasted only a year.Returned the battery with receipt and I was told they couldn't do anything for me.They wanted me to bring the battery home, reinstall it in my car, jump start my car, drive back to Mavis. So they could hook my car up to their diagnostic machine so they could check the charging system.A business not honoring their warrenties is totally unacceptable.Called their customer service number twice to complain, they never called me back.DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE,all the negative reviews they cant be all wrong read more

Went there to mount and balance new tires along with a alignment, 4, yes four hours later and 200$ later I left there with 3 different warning lights on my dash. They claim all they touched was tires and tie rods and had nothing to do with them and I have to goto my dealer to fix it. Will never go there again, would not recommend anyone going there and i wish I could give 0 or negative stars. Still waiting to hear back from dealer on the damage. Will update when I can read more

If I can give this place negative stars I would. This is my second time here and both times I had a horrible experience. I booked an appointment and when I showed up on time they said the tires will be here 2 hours from now. On my day off I am very busy this ruined my day. The other time they broke the cable under the truck for the spare tire and denied breaking it. I would not recommend this place to anyone at all. read more

So here is a follow up to my last review. I had received a response to my last entry. After calling the main office, the final outcome was.....they were going to send me a $40.00 voucher as thier way of trying to make amends, for the major screw up from the last visit. Now I realize they had to try and appease me, but, $40.00. A joke to say the leaat. Why? Well, let's add up what it cost me. 2 tires @ @100.00 a piece. 2 front end alignments @ 69.95 each. 1 set of brake pads $20.00 . 1 Rotor 30.00 and 1. Brake hose 45.00. Plus labor, to install all, 100.00. Now you as you can see, the total is over $500.00. Giving me a $40.00 voucher doesn't even come close. Like I said in my previous review. I will never go back to MAVIS TIRE AGAIN. read more

Worse experience! Website allows for appointments to be made. Scheduled a 9:30am appointment 5 days in advance for just a motor vehicle safety and emissions inspection. Arrived on time for the appointment and here it is 2 hours later and my car is yet to be seen. When I asked about why it is taking so long considering that I had an appointment, I was told by the manager that appointments only guarantee that you will be seen. So why have time slots to select from if it doesn't matter? Poor service. On the other hand, they finally finished and gave me a discount on service for the inconvenience. The manager was nice and was talking to me with compassion because I was not feeling good and we actually shared a few laughs over my comment to him about the chairs in the waiting area not being too comfortable. So because of his being human and kind, he redeemed the experience. I am hoping that if I ever have to return, the next experience will be better. One more chance! read more

I'll start off with that their tires are reasonably priced, but their customer service is atrocious. Look, it's a tire shop, I'm not expecting amazing customer service but I expect them to at least be courteous. The treatment I got was downright rude. I'd much rather pay a little bit more a tire and support a local shop with better customer service. I won't be coming here again. read more

I agree with the review for Jess J. fortunately My wife called me before they performed any work we made an appointment for tires and they tried to sell her brakes she did not need and tried to sell her tires we did not order and then would have tried to add an unnecessary alignment at 3 times the going rate. I will also be making a complaint to the BBB you will also notice that this is the lowest rated Mavis shop in the area read more

Don't go here, I've had only problems occur after they have worked on my car. Just found out they stripped my drain plug when they did my cars last oil change. You would think they would tell me? No they just sent me on my way without fixing what they broke. If they can't even do a simple oil change that says a lot. Never again will I go back here. read more

Horrible! First of all i waited an hour considering that when i walked in there was only 2 people waiting and they were together waiting for the same car. Secondly when i got my car back from a balance and rotation they did not rotate my tires and they did a poor balancing. One of my tires does not even have any weights on it. The other post is right about the prices being cheap and them not trying to sell you stuff but the service is The place is very shady with very shady characters walking by. It felt unsafe. DON'T GO HERE. There is a goodyear not far away anyway. read more

I'm very pleased with this service. Both my husband and I bring our cars here and they get the work done pretty quickly and at a fair rate. I highly recommend them. read more

The absolute worst experience!! I payed for the tires at 11 am. The truck sat all day without getting worked on then they asked me to leave it there overnight and it would get done 1st thing in the morning. I called at 11 am and they tell me they couldn't remove the tires without the lug key(which my truck doesn't have!!!) I explained that to them and then they said ok the mechanic must have been mistaken. Now I call back again at 2pm and they say that they don't have the right wrench!! Your a tire place!! I tell them I want a refund on the tires and they tell me I can still purchase them from them and get them mounted somewhere else!!! Unbelievable!! I go to retrieve my vehicle and it's left unlocked outside in a busy area with all my personal belongings inside!!! Needless to say I went to Walmart and had the tires done in 2 hours!! Shame on you Mavis!! Unreal!! read more

As others have written previously, the prices are good; However, the wait time is ridiculous. Two tires and a wheel alignment -- 2 1/2 hours!! WHY? Because the ONLY guy who was scheduled today that did alignments went to lunch. Yes, there are other guys who do alignments, but they were off today. So just the one guy. I was told, "well it is a holiday week and we have to give everyone an extra day off." They didn't even tell me there would be a delay. I just sat there in the waiting area like a jerk, watching everyone come and go. Not a single word from anyone about the delay -- and I had an appointment. I was NOT a walk in!! I don't expect "Tiffany's" customer service, but I certainly expect common courtesy. I'd rather pay an extra couple of bucks to get better service and more realistic wait times. read more

Really don't like this place, you go in for one thing and they find a bunch of other things wrong like "your tires are too worn" to try and sell you tires or whatever else. It's happened to my friend as well, she came in for brakes and they tried getting her to buy control arms. I checked her car myself and they were solid. I really don't appreciate the dishonest tactics they use to sell you things. read more
