Low tire pressure after bringing it and getting a new tire

Should have listened to the negative reviews. Had a slow leak on my one tire wanted them to look at it, guy in the front said 59 to see if it's fixable. 45 min later he said the one tire with a leak had a nail and isn't able to fix it and recommended I get a second tire also. When I told him I'd think about it (mind you the tire I went in for HAD A SLOW LEAK WHICH I WOULD FILL UP EVERY NOW AND THEN) the employee came in said the one tire is flat now because he made the hole bigger so I would have to get it towed. 222 dollars later im leaving with their cheapest tire and the low tire pressure is still lit up Unforgivable

NYS inspection FAILED because my tires were lightly worn but within acceptable levels. I asked the technician if he would replace the tires if it was his vehicle and he replied "Hell no!" As others have stated, this location is trying to FORCE a sale. If I am uncomfortable driving on a tire that is still considered safe by the NYS DMV then it's up to me to make that decision. The owner/manager should be embarrassed to call themselves a businessman. Grow up and admit that you are a lazy thief.

I really hate driving down the Long Island Expressway (495). In the winter it's riddled with potholes and uneven surfaces. I know this because driving on it the expression one night I hit two potholes that destroyed my front, driver side tire (I bought these tires eight months ago). Lucky, I was able to make it home on my run flat tire. So I went to the best mechanic to look at the damage.....obviously it was my local guy (hopefully you didn't think Mavis) and he told my I needed the exact tire. We looked online and couldn't find that particular model. Finally he tried Mavis. Mavis had it, I needed it, so I went. Armed with my spare tire and a urgency to get to work, I drove to Mavis. The manager, if that's who he was at the front didn't greet me when I walked up to the counter. He didn't even seem interested in helping for that matter. I gave him my order number (they send it to your email when you call over the phone; very convenient) and your checked in. But other that telling me a price over the phone, he did little to answer any of my questions. With body shops, it's hard to know what you're really going to pay. They add questionable charges after the fact. I like to know ahead of time to be prepared when the time came to pay. However, he didn't answer many questions. Most of the time unfortunately, I was there just waiting......and waiting, to get my car done. Finally after giving up hope they would take my car that day, they grabbed it. They did the job and rolled it out. I started to make my way to pay and sure enough there were those added changes. A charge for balancing the tires, a charge for disposing of the tires and labor. Why couldn't he just tell me that so I wasn't slapped in the face? Either way, I don't plan to go back. Next time (I hope there isn't a next time) I will wait till my mechanic gets tires in stock.

Wow! This auto body shop was a lifesaver to my fiancé…read more The day before (Saturday) the snowstorm my fiancés car started to smoke/steam from the hood. Being a Saturday, not many shops were open. I used Yelp, and found this place. Not only were the reviews great, but they were open! My fiancé called, explained his current issue and the lovely gentleman on the phone took his name and told him to bring it in! He brought his car in and they told him they probably won't be able to get to it today due to closing in a few hours, but would try and then with the incoming storm it would probably be Tuesday. Not a problem at all! After I picked him up after he dropped his car off he said the gentleman behind the counter was very nice! Fast forward to Tuesday morning (due to the storm, didn't open Monday) they told him they couldn't find anything wrong or a reason for the smoke/steam. They stated they looked it over, drove it, had it run and still couldn't find anything. They also repaired another issue that a previous mechanic quoted him over $2k to fix for about $500. My fiancé was and is very happy with the service he received on his car. He stated he will now bring both of our cars here for all of our car needs!

I've had many family and friends switch over to Arthur's from their other shops because of the pleasant experience I've had here. I've had multiple inspections, oil changes, and other services and have been pleased each time. No price gauging and no waiting for months to get in like at most of the dealerships. This shop is a must try for auto repair.

Great and friendly customer service. Service was completed and satisfied. Was super helpfulread more

Went to Pep Boys for a SIMPLE tire plug because I had a slow leak from a small hole. That's it. I…read moredropped the car off, went to grab food, and came back over an hour later just to be told all four tires were "dry rotted" and I needed a whole new set of tires instead of the simple plug I originally came in for. Meanwhile, they somehow made the hole BIGGER than it originally was and didn't even bother putting air back in the tire until I asked because I still needed to drive home. The second I left, you could literally hear the air leaking out louder than before, and the tire started making horrible noises while driving. And when I came back after waiting all that time, the guy goes, "Yeah, I was just about to call you." Sure you were. The funniest part? I got home, my dad plugged the tire himself in minutes, and now everything is perfectly fine. So clearly they absolutely COULD have fixed it -- they just didn't want to. It honestly felt like they were more interested in trying to upsell me into buying four new tires than actually helping me with the simple repair I came in for. If I wasn't out east and just trying to make it home, I honestly would've never stopped there in the first place. I know better. My options were either stop at the closest place and hope for a quick plug or end up calling BMW Roadside Assistance for a flatbed over a simple nail hole. I even tipped them despite them doing basically nothing for me because I try to be kind to people. Regret that now. Waste of time, dishonest service, and a completely frustrating experience.
