If I can give this location 0 stars I would. Every time I go in for any simple job I have to wait at least 2-4 hours. This time I go in for a patch on my tire because I have road hazard on all 4 tires. They told me I have ride flat tires and will have to pay for a new tire plus new warranty. I had to explain I do not have ride flat tires on my car, which they clearly know by looking in the system and at my receipt from buying the original tires. So they claim to have put a new tire on my car. When I get home I noticed my tire was mounted incorrectly, insert of picture attached. bought 4 new tires they did not properly balance. found that out on the freeway going over 60 mph. whole right side was vibrating. i called they said to bring in it might be balanced properly (really!?) and then proceeded to tell me their balancing machines were not working properly. they should have told me over the phone. i had to go to another mavis to have it done. one should be able to go to a mavis and expect when he buys 4 tires (they aren't cheap) that they will be installed correctly and safely. i will never buy from mavis again. read more

December 2021, Reuben bold face lied to me about needing an $85 oil change, when I had 1,000 to go til my next oil change, and my oil was as clear as a pretty summer day. He told me my oil was BLACK, hand GUNK in it and should be changed. Popped my hood when I got home and found him to be a BIG, FAT, LIAR. When I told Rick about Reuben's lying, his pitiful excuse for Reuben was maybe he mixed up your vehicle, with another. January 2022, 8:00am-4:45pm, I waited on my vehicle, only to learn that A. J.(who has since been fired for crashing a Woman's vehicle, while high, on th job) ordered the incorrect CO2 censor, they sent me home with the old censor, to come back the next day to spend 6 more hours with them, to get it right. February 2022, Glutton for punishment, that I am, I take it to them to replace a Power Steering Pump, that Rick previously diagnosed. Genious Mechanic Ainsley, overlooked the high pressure hose and the return hose, from the pump and reservoir, to the rack and pinion, had rusted metal lines, corroded fittings and were both leaking. This was diagnosed, upon me returning, with complaints of the same initial symptoms. Rick tells me that they will order me the 2 hoses, free of charge, since it was Ainsley's fault. Says he'll pay the "$500" for the hoses.(BIG, FAT LIE) (Dealership told me, $29.86 for the return hose and $105.00 for the pressure hose, and consumers pay more than businesses). I go back, the next week for the installation. 5 hours later, Rick tells me he has to order the fittings, that he "assumed" came with the assembly, and I have to come back, the next week. Without a brain cell between them, neither he nor Ainsley put any power steering fluid in the car, and by the time I returned home, I have no power steering. What a joy aggravating the Tendinitis, in my right shoulder and elbow, wrestling the wheel to park. I call Rick and the LIAR told me that he filled it with fluid, before sending me home. Fill the reservoir up, play with the wheel, while the car is running, and when it loosens up, drive straight here, when you're coming to get it fixed. Put a fork in me, I was done. After discovering it would cost almost $80 to have it towed, I called their Regional Manager and conveyed to him the entire situation. He offered to pay the towing costs. I told him I don't want those "INCOMPETENT IDIOTS" touching my vehicle, "I DON'T TRUST THEM". I had it towed to a different Mavis and after the Mechanic and the Service Manager, Dimitri checked my car, they concluded that Rick ordered the WRONG ASSEMBLY, and advised me of where the actual damage and leaks are. The Regional Manager, Carlos stated to me that the extent of the repair is beyond the scope of Mavis' capabilities and Rick never should have consented to such an undertaking. I was reimbursed my full payment and told to take it to a dealership. They kindly filled up my reservoir, wrote down exactly what I need to repair my baby and sent me on my way. On my last visit to them, Rick told me that the day before, Ainsley spent his entire shift on ONE vehicle, doing Brakes, Rotors, Shocks and Struts. They gave the man back his vehicle, making a terrible noise. The man returned immediately. A heated argument ensued, between Rick and Ainsley, and Ainsley divulged that the Struts were too short. Rick was furious, telling Ainsley, he should have told him, and not just put them in the man's car. I TOLD RICK TO GET RID OF HIM, HE'S AN ACCIDENT AND A LAWSUIT, WAITING TO HAPPEN. I went in to purchase 2 new front tires. After placing my Order I was told it would be a 30 minute-1 hour wait. I was kind and courteous to the staff. After An hour and 15 minutes of waiting I politely asked for an update on when my car would be ready. The staff, especially the manager were incredibly rude, bluntly lied to me regarding what the initial time estimate were and told me to go somewhere else if I didn't like it. They wasted my valuable time. It's one thing to be unapologetic, there is no excuse for rudeness. This is poorly managed business. The manager acted unnecessarily rude. Was at Mavis on Rockaway Tpke in Lawrence yesterday for tire rotation and to have a tire with slow leak checked. I have had this tire checked previously in two different tire shops, both times being told they could not find any problem. As I was due for rotation, I asked to have this tire checked again as I am constantly needing to put air in it. Well finally a diagnosis! Apparently the entire inside of the rim was full of rust allowing air to escape. Apparently, no one else had gone the extra step to actually remove the tire from the rim. Thank you, Rolando for your expertise! Also, thanks to Deshaun (hope I spelled your name correctly) who treated me with kindness, concern and professionalism from the moment I walked into the shop. My husband ordered 2 tires on Wednesday 3/2/22. We were told the tires would be in next day at 11am & had an appt at 12pm. We go there, tires are not there. We're told to "come back @ 3." We call around 2:15p to ensure they arrived and in fact, they have not. When we inquired as to why we were given an answer of "that's not our problem. You ordered through sales, not me." It most definitely IS your problem as you're representing the company as a whole and even though it wasn't you personally, a member of staff from a company that you work at together, made an error. He tells us they will call when they get in. Hours later, still no call. I see online they're closing so we call back and they say .. yes it's here. Why wasn't our phone call returned then? We go this morning and low and behold, you have to wait at least an hour to get JUST the rim put onto tire since we didn't have an appt. Yes, we did just wasn't honored at the correct time. Did a good job on putting tires and tpms sensors..HOWEVER... 1.my car has side skirts..they raised it on the flat lift which warped my front fender moldings. Lucky it didn't break and I held it back in place till it got back it's shape 2. Reversing off the lift they ripped my front right bumper off it's tab..damaging the bumper. I showed up and was told It would take 15 minutes. I went for a walk giving them extra time and returned in an hour. Not only had they not started but my car was in the same place as when I left it. What a complete waste of time. If you can't do it and your too busy at least have the respect and courtesy to tell it to me straight instead of totally wasting my time. These guys are good people. I came to get my front tires changed out and get an alignment. No pressure at all to get an expensive brand. While attempting the alignment they found an issue with my steering. Again, no pressure to get it fixed by them. I was there maybe 1 year ago with a different car that I needed an alignment for , they found a different problem with that car as well and I had the same experience --- no pressure. I think that's extremely important. I always had a good experience here and felt like I got a good value. Only complaint is that when someone is behind the register they should give their full attention to the customer and shouldn't be on the phone in a phone call or text -- that was only one person though. Otherwise I got what I needed done at a good value and had a over all good experience. I'd recommend anyone to come here. read more

I took my car for an oil change early morning last saturday and had printed out a coupon for an $18.88 oil change. When i arrived i was greeted by the manager who accepted the coupon. He told me the oil change would take 30 minutes. 25 mintues later my car was ready and they told me options for brake fluid which i stated i would prefer to do that another time and they were not pushy. I would sugggest this place to friends and family. The only problem I have is how exepnsive some services are at reguler price and thats why i leave off 1 star.An oil change without a coupon would have been more than $30 and a wheel alignment is over $70. An oil change should be $20-$25 and a wheel alignment should be $50. Other then that, thr employees are professional and efficient. read more

Went for an inspection, and called me telling me the car had so many problems. I needed new tires...the thread was still in great condition. It's my mother's car and she doesn't drive it. It is only driven by me three times a year when I visit her the tires had less than 2000 miles on it. Claimed I needed an ailment and struts. The way I was approached I was under the impression the car would not pass inspection. Once I directly asked if it would pass, they told me yes. If they had begin with my car passed but there are issues with certain parts, I may have been more receptive. I will never consider purchasing tires from this location. I called at 10am and was told my tire should arrive at the location in 1-2 hours. I called back around 1pm to follow up on the status and was told I spoke to the call center and the tire wouldn't arrive until Thursday. I asked why the call center gave inaccurate information and was told by Matthew, "I am not the call center, you called the call center - that has nothing to do with me". I asked why the same organization would provide such different information and he told me if I call Verizon in Idaho, I wouldn't get the same information as Verizon in NY. I told him I would have no way of knowing I was calling a call center because I called the phone number for Mavis in Lawrence. He then started to yell and call me "hon". I asked him not to call me "hon" and he said he would no longer "deal with me". I called back and spoke to Shaun who said he was a manager. He was apologetic, but too little too late. I bought a used car in January 2018 which needed some repairs, my dad suggested that I go to Mavi's Discount Tire- so I did. I went to the 650 Rockaway Turnpike location in Lawrence, NY 11559. I needed new struts which can be seen in the attached screenshot and new brushing, wheel alignment etc. Fast forward a year later, I bring my car to my new mechanic because I wasn't satisfied with Mavi's. It turns out I needed my front struts and brushing changed again- a year and four months later from when I originally got them replaced Mavi's. My mechanic explained that Mavi's uses cheap knock off parts and not brand name parts. As you can see in the screenshot, Mavi's gave me a lifetime warranty for Struts. Do they expect me to go every year to get them fixed, when struts are supposed to be changed every five years? Stay away from this company. I went there once and it's the biggest mistake that I made as a brand-new car owner. read more

Prices are good, seats aren't bad, and there is free wifi while you wait. But be prepared to wait hours! I made an appointment for 930 am, hoping that they won't be behind schedule, and was here on time. Over 2.5 hours later my car isn't even taken into the garage yet.
