So I went here straight after Church ... literally less than 15 mins before closing time on a Sunday and they were nice enough to still check my car. I waited less than 10 mins because the TPS light came on and any lights gives me a panic I know NOTHING about cars sadly. So turns out due to the heat the air in my tires were off ... something like that (pls remember I know next to nothing about cars?! Wonderful service! My family and I have been going to them for years. We were recommended by a family friend and have been going ever since. They are the most reliable place to have your car repaired. The mechanics get the job done quickly and give a call when done. When there's something wrong with my car, they would show me what needs to be fixed and explain why. Ed is extremely honest and fair with his pricing. He doesn't just make up some BS and say this, that, and the third needs to be done. He gives recommendations if parts should be fixed in the near future but doesn't force it on you if it isn't necessary to do yet. There's no better place. I'm guessing most of these reviews are FAKE or these people are somehow related to/friends of these mechanics, which prevented these reviewers from being lied to in the same manner that I was. I am a 21 year old woman (easy target) who visited this place my first time for a simple oil change out of convenience. Big mistake. They overcharged me for that and proceeded to LIE to me and tell me I had "completely GONE break pads". Mind you that I take impeccable care of my car, which is fairly new and has just passed inspection a few weeks ago with flying colors. I brought the car to my reputable mechanic who has serviced my family for over 20 years immediately who clearly DISPLAYED to me with a flashlight that my break pads were completely FINE and would NOT need to be changed for some time. Complete scam artists!!!! I am sure this review will get removed, but avoid them at all costs. Also, the mechanic saw my tire with the wheel cover removed (to further inspect these allegedly worn down break pads), thought it was a donut tire and tried to convince me to buy their tires. What mechanic can't tell the difference between a donut and stock tires??? Need I say more. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. we own a few oil changes, the closest is in elmont. we do not service tires so we send customers out, at least 2 customers a week. i used to send my customers to mavis. they kept saying they'll give a great price but they were giving regular retail price, highly inflated prices. i sent a customer here with a bmw 5 series runflat tire in november. these guys were 100$ cheaper than mavis. so i just brought my personal car here. needed a pirelli runflat. first of all like an idiot i left my wheel lock at home. the guys here are brilliant and managed to get it off. the owner welcomed me on the phone and the manager in the office, mark, was very very professional and courteous and humble. they happily took me in last minute right before closing which is highly commendable. the place is a throwback, looks like they've been in business for over 50 years which is a GOOD thing they know what they're doing. was in and out in 30 mins w a brand new tire, 40$ cheaper than mavis's price. will send all my customers from my shop here and will leave their cards in my office. read more

Was shopping around for prices after I got a flat from wood somehow getting lodged in my tire. I came across this place after looking on Google and decided to give them a call. They beat the price of another local tire shop by around $30, to replace, mount and balance my tire. I dropped the car off and within about two hours they checked it, determined the tire needed to be replaced and replaced it. Would highly recommend and extremely nice people. read more

I work a few blocks away and i had no heat in my car except when i went over 40 mph and needed an oil change. i thought it was got to be a big issue and was going to cost me big. it turned out the radiator just needed to be duly out and new anti freeze added. I was called before the work was done and right after. The owner was very nice and when i picked up my car he turned it on and within 2 minutes there was heat after sitting for about 2 hours, he wiped down the steering wheel and the door before he would let me touch the car. i highly recommend this shop. read more

Ok so first off let me say I usually don't review places unless I am unhappy and want people to avoid going some where. Well, I am reviewing Wond A Rama for just the opposite reason. With that said, I have maintained my cars and restored a few classics over the past 25 years, so you can say I am mechanically inclined. With that said I don't really have a go to mechanic bc all I ever really paid a Mechanic to do in the past is NYS inspections. Well life happens and I was unable to work on my car and was in need of some work prior to getting my car inspected. I brought the car in on recommendation of my girl friend, but did not tell them that at the point of service to feel out the shop. The owner was pleasant and we discussed what I believed it to be. He took the car in diagnosed the problem, it was what should have been an easy job made nearly impossible by the wonderful engineers as Chevy. When he called for authorization and to give me an estimate I asked his opinion on replacing another part as it was in the same location which is truly a pain in the but to get to. We both agreed although that part was also costly not having to replace it at a later time would probably be best. What impressed me about this is most mechanics would not want to replace the other part number one bc there was no additional labor hours incurred so all he made was his minimal mark up on the part and secondly now I won't be back in for a major repair when that part fails. The job was completed the same day and the price was extremely reasonable. It seems as I have found a mechanic for when I'm not able to work on my own vehicles. Thank you for still having honest Mechanics out there. From what I hear there are few and far between. read more
