DO NOT USE - Threatened by Dallas office and mover that my stuff would be left behind if I didn't pay. Sales rep said I only needed the minimum amount for a 1bdr. I went with her recommendation because I have no idea how to calculate cubic feet for furniture. Day of move got a call that my shipment would cost an extra $1400 because there was more cubic feet and because it was last minute. I was fine with paying for the cubic feet but they tacked on another 700 and then said they would have to repair the boxes $500. Felt swindled. Took the hit and canceled on the spot. Don't get hooked on the "good deal" this company promotes. They will say one thing and then do another. Reported to BBB. read more

This company provided a disingenuous estimate based on weight, which we did not exceed, and then attempted to triple our estimate based on volume when they showed up to move our belongings. They then refused to refund our deposit even though they refused to honor our contract by weight and failed to provide a visual estimate prior to our move day. read more

***UPDATED: Please read the response from the owner on my original review. Really? How about an apology for the areas where they DID fall short? Did I say THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE was horrible? Yes, I tipped the guys because they said they installed my washer. What happened to business hours being from 8-5? or 9-6? Who calls someone at 6:55AM? And by the way, I don't have a front loading washer. And believe me, I know the timeline for my phone calls and attempts to contact the company - I HAD NO SHEETS ON MY BED FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! Anyway, if you want to use this company, they might be good for you, if they have the supervision. But I had two guys that were probably 21 and 17. They were good for my boyfriend because there were three older, probably more responsible, men - but they were definitely lacking for my move.*** They moved my boyfriend from Irving to Lewisville in March and the experience was AWESOME, which is why I booked them to move me this month. So why the two stars? Well, they moved me this past weekend... and it was less than awesome... less than ok... it was really not good at all. There were two young guys that showed up and they were very polite... but very, very slow. I witnessed one of the guys literally carrying down a box with one of my stock pots in it - it probably didn't weigh more than half a pound pound. Since there was a two-hour minimum and I was moving literally 30 feet across the street, I didn't think it would take more than two hours (I had only four big pieces of furniture - my bed, washer, dryer and TV). There were two futons, a tv stand and a small filing cabinet that my family hauled away. It took them 2 hours and 15 minutes because they were moving SO slow. They charged me extra for the 15 minutes... and the older of the two guys "installed" my washer and dryer (quotations for a reason). When I was paying I asked the guy if he got everything hooked up for my washer and dryer, and he said, "yes, it's good to go." I even tipped them over $30.00. After they left, I started a load of laundry with my sheets in it... and we started unpacking. Suddenly, we hear this splashing noise...and then water came flowing out from the laundry room! The washer hose was not installed into the pipe to drain and gallons and gallons of water went EVERYWHERE. Thank God I was home. After spending 45 minutes cleaning up the mess (fortunately I have hardwood floors and not carpet in that area), I decided to check the dryer - JUST IN CASE. Thankfully I did because they had crushed the dryer hose and torn the end that was attached to the wall, so hot air was blowing out of the torn hose, along with lint. I called the company and it went to voicemail 5 times. After the sixth call, a lady answered and I told her what happened. She said she could have someone come out and fix the dryer hose but that she would call me back and let me know when. I told her I really needed it fixed that day because I couldn't find my extra set of sheets and all my sheets were in the washer. She said she would call me back that day to arrange a time. Lo and behold, she never called. I decided to go to Home Depot and buy a dryer hose and install it myself. The next day (Easter Sunday), I had a missed call from a number I didn't recognize but no voicemail. Monday morning, I got a call at 6:55am from a man asking if he could come out and fix my dryer hose. Who calls at 6:55am? He said he called me the day before but I didn't answer. So... we had a GREAT first experience... but the second was scarily different. Poor follow-up, inexperienced movers and no real apology for the problems. Great people! Very professional! Keep their word! They work very hard and are extremely careful! If you are planning a move then I highly recommend them! Moved in February. Late arrival...Okay...Broke a lamp...Okay...Guys that moved me....great.. However missing items...2 fluorescent lights from garage with chains as well as a box full of games & puzzles (that mean a lot to me)-and "some other black thing-you'll know what it is when you see it" according to one the movers. They acknowledged they had my lights and "that black thing" and they would deliver them. They never arrived. Have called 2-3 times and no answer and have left messages with no reply. I guess they have a policy that if they like it or want it, they keep it...Tipped each guy $50 AND fed them lunch and supper. It's not the movers I have an issue with (except the last load was piled into the middle of the garage for me to move), it is the follow up of missing items. I'm still unpacking (slow process due to two jobs) and who knows what else will come up missing. If my missing items had been delivered as promised, or my calls had been returned with positive action, I would be giving 5 stars..Everything else really was great. I understand nothing is perfect all the time and it was a lot to move, but a move within the same neighborhood. Really, I would like an invite to the "lost and found" warehouse to find my missing items. Or arrive home one day to see them on my doorstep, as promised. I give my recommendation to Lone Star Movers. Jeremy and David were courteous, efficient, and polite. They moved a four bedroom house into a two bedroom duplex in four hours flat. They disassemble a couch and reassembled it as well as moving five bookshelves and all the books on the shelves. They offered fair pricing and even moved stuff back and forth from the two residences in the Texas summer heat without any complaints. These fellas were worth every penny! read more

This company was really great for my move. I moved locally, only about 5 miles but I had a 4 bedroom house and a lot of stuff. The only hitch was, they scheduled a move before me so they showed up 3 hours late, Otherwise I would have given 5 stars. They were in contact with me during all 3 hours and sent an extra crew to help expedite the move. It still took a good 8 hours but they didn't leave until the job was finished. The crew was very respectful of my things and polite. It was a long move and other than an occasional water/smoke break, they just kept working. We had to work well into the night but they worked really hard and were extremely respectful. I have already referred them to two other friends who also had great experiences with their move. This was a good company. I recommend them highly. read more

This company is the WORST, stay away, DO NOT USE THEM, they price gauge. They are very friendly when giving you a quote. The movers were very good, however the customer service is horrible. Don't expect any help if something goes wrong. Long story short, I changed the items that I was moving the night before the move. The move was out of state, so I expected to pay, but this is ridiculous. I emailed the company and told them the new list. They responded saying the mover would do a new invoice on site and they would give me a new invoice. Original move was a queen bed (no dresser) small night stand, 5 piece leather sectional w chaise, kitchen table and 2 chairs, 2 lamps, a tv stand and 3 rugs (4x4). What was moved was a queen bed, small night stand, 2 lamps, 3 rugs ad a futon. The mover said he had to box the lamps and wrap the mattress and headboard. I was charged an additl $180 verbally, however the invoice I got from the mover, doe not have ANY amount on it. When they called to ask where my next payment was I said I asked how much is the new total. I thought bc my items were less my bill should be reduced. Instead it increased and I have nothing in writing other than the original invoice, which they now increased by $180 something dollars??? They want me to believe that the new items took up the same amount of space as a 5 piece leather sectional w chaise and a kitchen table and 2 chairs??? While I am willing to pay, I will not pay for items that were not moved. They are now refusing to deliver my items, no one can give me a straight answer and they are holding my furniture hostage! I have filed a complaint with the better business bureau and will be filing a lawsuit if this is not resolved today! PS, I had 2 people call listing the same exact items that I had going to the same place, and they were quoted at least $400 Cheaper. What they did was never adjusted the price when I removed some of the items being moved, and now they are refusing to change the amount to reflect what they actually moved. The customer service is horrific, and their only response is just pay it. You can't get a supervisor on the phone, its horrible. BTW, the invoice says free Mattress wrap, free blankets + moving pads, 5 rolls free tape, free climate controlled storage up to 35 days. So why was I charged to wrap the headboard and mattress? And why wasn't the price adjusted? I have asked for the owner, manager, supervisor and I have been denied each time. read more

Wow, these guys were absolutely the best movers I've ever had! (7 moves so far) Eddie and Domingo were above and beyond amazing. It was a Dallas to Austin move and rained the first few hours. They even sent another guy to help load in the first location and the manager or owner oversaw the process. These guys are worth every penny of the really reasonable prices. read more

Dave and his team were outstanding. The team was extremely efficient. Dave quoted a fair price and delivered on time. Our stuff was moved with the utmost care. There was not a single scratch on any of our appliances, nothing was broken. I am very impressed with Dave and with his team and also extremely grateful for taking up our move last minute. I would highly recommend Lone Star Movers and Dave and his team. We have moved innumerable times and our experience with Lone Star has by far been the best.
