A minute later the man shouts at me again from across the store, this time I see him and he chastises me first by saying when I first said hello i was trying to tell you the price like I'm some kind of child of his needing to teach me how to be polite. Sorry, you can greet customers all you want, but that doesn't mean they have to greet you back and then when you mention it when all they want to do is shop in peace, it just creates an adversarial situation. So, no, I won't be back. Also, the two workers were loudly talking about how overworked and underpaid they were. They didn't even care if they were overheard! Very unprofessional and gospel music and talking about god on the radio, no thanks.

If you're aware of the Beacon Food Mart, it's tucked behind it in a very small strip within a neighborhood. I stopped in with my toddler for the 3rd Birthday Celebration. They had open tie dye, chalk art, a live DJ, food truck and vendors. Although the celebration isn't every day, you can still find most of these activities throughout the week. Open Tie Dye is posted on their Facebook page. $15 if you buy one of their shirts, $10 if you bring your own. You get to choose what design you want and they'll help you fold it. It is then up to you to put your colors on! Once completed, they send your shirt home to set for 24 hours. Follow their instructions and you have a cute new one of a kind shirt! I like that they soak the shirts beforehand in a special mix that opens the pores of the shirt for dye. Thank you for the lesson!!! The ladies helping out are lovely! They also have ready to purchase clothes ranging from baby onesies to adults. Also, draperies, cloths, crocheted items, magnets, body care. It's a small shop with a lot of personality. Dressing rooms are many and large and there is always someone offering to help. After I get a few items in my hands, someone always offers to come over and start a fitting room for me. Employees check on you and ask if they can get you anything and don't hesitate to get you a different size if you need it. Don't pass up the free bra fitting. It may be a bit awkward, but its over the clothes and always help you find the right size for you. My best friend looked at 10 stores for the perfect strapless bra for her wedding and had no luck until I suggested Lane Bryant for a bra fitting. Within 10 minutes she got a fitting, an employee found the perfect bra and she was happy. Also, if you like something but its not in your size or color (I tried on the green shirt, but really like the pink one), they will order it for you and send it to your door for free!! Also, free shipping to the store when you order online and a $25 coupon when you pick up!! Oh, and location, location, location!! I go shopping, and hubby goes to Pies and Pints right next door. He gets a beer or two and I meet him there when I'm done so we can finish our shopping. The parking is the only real weak point, but its no worse than when this store was located at the Mall at Fairfield Commons!

I'm hounded constantly, and bothered by your associates, they ask me if I need help finding anything. They ask me if I need a fitting room, and worse, they hover around me making constant unsolicited suggestions when they don't know me, what I like, or what I'm looking for. They want to give me their two cents on things I briefly glance at. And then when I finally get rid of one another usually comes along and does the same thing. I'm sad to write this, but I do so because I just now put back my items and left and I wanted you to know why. You see, I talk all day at work, I deal with people all day, And then I come home and talk to my kids all night. For just one minute, All I wanted was to browse your store in peace after a long day of work, maybe buy a few things for my spring trip, but instead it was like a high pressure car sale. Please, please stop it with the hovering, and the intense bothering. Your store is small. I can see it all with my eyes, I don't need you to point things out or act as if I'm unintelligent for not picking up the shirt that was "made to go with those pants." We have a Kohl's in our town we shop at more than other department stores. My wife needed to return…read moresomething to Amazon and so we dropped into this on a trip to see our daughter and her family. I think this location seems to be about the same as the one near us but the quality of the merchandise was much higher. I wasn't sure if that ticked me off or I was just impressed. For one thing, this location still has a full men's section, with lots of dress clothes and not just jeans, shorts and casual wear like ours. I mean a really large men's suits and dress clothes area! The other departments seem a bit more the way macy's used to be instead of more like a Burlington Coat factory like ours. I needed to use the restroom which was very clean and well maintained too. Kohl's usually does this everywhere so I should praise them for that. Many other stores leave the restrooms smell,y trashy and often have broken stalls and urinals. I thought they were a little light on staffing out in the departments but a whole team of workers at checkout and guarding the front door (whoops I mean greeting people). A few times we had questions but could not find anyone to ask. That's the only reason they did not get five stars from me today.

I bought two pillows with a buy one, get one half off sale. The pillows were $19.99 each. So I should have paid $30 for both, but they rang up as $19.99 each. When I pointed this out, she spoke to me in a super loud voice that she would have to increase the first pillow to $39.99 and sell me the second for $19.99. This is just insane and she continued to yell and scream at me in front of several customers. She kept saying "why do you not understand this?" It was so absolutely ridiculous.... The fact that she wanted to increase the price first and then her erratic child-like fit that she threw in front of me and others. District management: you have a large problem on your hands.
