I like Gabe's. I wish we had them in Alabama. I'm still enjoying my two pairs of Lucky jeans I scored here about 4 Thanksgiving's [or so] ago visiting my sweet Mom-in-Law in Dayton. We often took her 2 great granddaughters clothes shopping here. You really can't beat the deals! Yes, it takes a lot of "digging" around to find your size, and it's not the most organized store; however when you find something that fits, is a deeply discounted name brand and it soooooo inexpensive - it's worth it! I've bought OSU themed items here, Christmas cards and decor, accessories and clothing. M-I-L scored a lot of bargains for the great grands nearly every time we shopped at Gabe's! The store has become like an episode of hoarders. There are multiple aisles that you can't even get down. There's so much crap. Just shoved on temporary stocking racks. If you ask for help, they stand like a deer in headlights and just say things like there should be some we might have some.... And I know it's a discount store, but it is filthy! I love Gabe's because I love the hunt, digging through racks for bargains is my relaxation. Tonight I found a dreamy pair of Carhart jeans that fit to perfection, a super cute crocheted sweater vest, a few beautiful dressy blouses from Express for a few bucks and bra's from a high end retailer normally $48 for $7.99. Gabe's used to be one of my favorite places to shop. They have a huge variety of clothing, and I'd find some great deals. But, about six weeks ago they closed their dressing room! How in the world they sell any of the clothing there, I don't know. Approximately 3/4 of their merchandise is clothing!! I asked an employee about it and they said to just buy what I was interested in and return what doesn't fit! Seriously? Their return policy is very strict to begin with! Plus, why would I want to spend my gasoline money to return them? I really think they are writing their own death certificate by not opening the dressing rooms. I contacted corporate and never received a reply. This is a place that is going to an early grave. Too bad--it could be remedied so easily. read more

I enjoy shopping here but it's always so chaotic. So unorganized and dirty. You can find some good deals if you have the patience to sift thru everything though. They need more cashiers, and need to teach the current morning girl some customer service. Many options and choices! Various brands and types of products. Would recommend this to people who love to shop. They have very good deals and great clearance items. Very long lines and slow service. Never again will we shop here, I don't care what deals yall have. We tried to return a pair of clearance sweat pants that I bought literally 2-3 days ago and their return policy which they don't tell you is 30 days BUT you cannot return anything with hair on it meaning yours or your animals. They tried to tell us that they were covered in hair and they were not. These sweats were not washed, covered in anything, they look like they were tried on (which they were) they weren't worn around my animals at all. They were just in the same house as my animals, which any pet owner knows your clothes even in your closet will have some pet hair on them. Hell mine in my basement has cat hair on them and they are clean! And we also waited in line for 45mins! Called and speaked with the manager and he didn't give two shits either! read more

Gabe's is hands down my favorite store, which is a quite lofty claim considering that I loves me some clothes. Some people, (in fact, I would go so far as to say most people) might turn their noses up at this grungy, fluorescent lighted retail store. Granted, I could describe it as a poor-man's TJ Maxx with the ambiance of an repurposed Lowes. However, it contains a gold mine of trendy, eclectic and cheap items. Clothes, shoes, belts, sunglasses, jewelery, housewares.. it's all great, but it can be hit and miss. Expert Tip: The unknown brands are where it's at. Instead of pouring over the racks of Express, Limited, Ann Taylor, etc, garments (which are usually damaged or odd sizes) I would advise branching out for something new. Just because you never heard of a brand doesn't mean it's cheap. Example: I bought a belt there last year for around $4. Anthropologie is still carrying the exact same belt for $30. I believe that Gabe's separates those with style who love to shop from those who love the security of a name brand and mannequin ensemble. read more

Gabriel Brothers is a store where you have to have some time to walk through; there's a lot to look at and decide if you could use that shirt or pair of shoes. I have found a few bargains here and try to stop in at least once a month. Being right next to Target is convienent as well. One nit to pick; today, there was one person on the front end with 6 people in line. Same person was answering the phone, too. For the love of dog, get some help up front when more than a couple of people are in line...you will lose customers, as happenened today. read more

Good selection of items. Clothes were not my style but the prices seemed great. I loved the home section as well as the shoes. The overall look of the store was very dirty and messy. (Don't use the restrooms) the shoes were extremely disorganized and you had to hunt for matching pairs but if you can find them the price is great. The employees were all very nice. I like the great prices, but you do have to look everything over as there are rips, missing buttons & broken zippers in some of the clothing, but I have also found some great bargains, especially in the jewelry area. I do have a complaint - they need more help at the registers. The return desk should be just for that...returns, or maybe to help with small checkouts when needed, but too many times I've had to stand in line for 20 minutes (or longer) to return an item because customers with loaded carts are checking out at the return desk. read more

Gabes live gotta love it! I actually live close to the charleston wv store and frequent the place. Because it's in the capital city and near an area with money an a small university sometimes it's hard to find lots. But I know how to "scan shop" meaning I read the brand signs and know what I'm interested in so I can scan up the whole ladies in one hour and still have time to hit up the mirror with my finds. It so funny how thye get a mix if cheaper brands that are kind of "family dollar store esque" and then have brands like express and urban outfitters that are all $12.99. Hmm buy the cheap top from a no name or the $68 top? I guess it's all in the blood. I don't think I could ever move away from gabes! I can spend $50 on five outfits or a great pair of Nike shox or get two or three pairs of mall brand shoes. I know people that snarl their nose up at the once like it's some kind of yard sale. Although they used to sell clothing literally piled up in bins with extreme defects when I was in elementary school gabes is definitely not the same store now!!! Other than goodwill there is no other place where you can buy a pair of jeans and top and accessory for $14.99 $5.99 and $1.99 each! I pity the fool that won't shop at gabes! read more

Gabril Bros is a great store for the thrifty. I have 5 kids and it saves me time and money. Its organization far beats Marshalls or value city, I don't have patience to shop at these stores. Their fashions are current and my co-worker fornd a Coogi purse for $9. I don't know if it was knock off but it was a da*n good knock off if it was. My 14 yr old loves the place. She spent $250 at the mall for christmas and left with three small bags then took her other $150 ($400 shopping money for her christmas gift) and spent $75 and came out with one huge bag which included two pair of shoes. She learned all about discount shopping that day! read more
