This cost $325, toppers are mine
    Jacqueline H.

Kinda underwhelmed with the quality for the price. Got a 2-tier wedding cake, for 35 people, $325 USD. We chose the "Maui Dreams" specialty, which is per their website: Top Tier: Vanilla cake filled with Coconut Cream & Crushed Pineapple filling Bottom Tier: Vanilla cake with Vanilla Whip Cream Custard with a layer of Logsdon Lilikoi Sadly, the flavours were so muted as to be nearly undetectable. The vanilla cake was lovely, fresh and spongy, but really there was little other flavour than buttercream and vanilla. The bottom tier was arguably more flavourful with the lilikoi. I was also pretty unimpressed with the communication we had with Casey. I emailed him, and got a response about 10 days later with an apology for the delay. No worries, good thing I was planning way in advance. I told him exactly what we wanted a few times, specifically blue and purple flowers, with no flowers on the top as a topper was to be added. Like with other home bakers in Maui, you just go and pick up your cake at someone's house, in a fridge kept in the driveway. Box has your name on it. No problem. Unfortunately, we received a cake with purple and white flowers, and a bunch of flowers on top. I messaged Casey to ask what up, seeing as I had not been notified of any changes. He responded quickly to explain that they were unable to source any blue flowers. That's cool dude, but I would have appreciated some notice so that maybe I could find my own? Like literally growing on the bushes outside our place? I also noted that the icing was uneven in places with really obvious knife marks. I expected better workmanship for the price. Bottom line: pretty nice cake, not the best, definitely way over-priced, so-so communication with the owner, and don't expect that your specific requests will be met, even if they are put in writing multiple times.

The cake I got with pink flowers instead of white.

I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with the wedding cake I ordered for my wedding in Maui two weeks ago. I ordered a very, very simple 2-tier cake since it was just my fiance and I. Originally I asked for a simple buttercream cake with WHITE flowers. Then I sent a picture of another simple cake with sugar flowers. I GOT NEITHER! I was sent an email that my request was confirmed. I never got an email explaining it couldn't be done. If the second cake was impossible, I would have thought I would have gotten at least my first request! Instead I got a cake with RED FLOWERS that I did NOT want. The cake itself was mostly all frosting inside with very little actual cake. We took a few bites and gave the rest away. Did not even keep the top tier to save. For a whopping $215 cake, I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED I did not get the cake I requested. I cannot recommend this company.

Simply amazing!! We ordered our wedding cake through Maui Wedding Cakes and were absolutely blown away. Not only was the cake itself some of the best cake I have ever eaten, but the service we had was unbeatable. First when ordering the cake I spoke with Casey and talked about the design we wanted and flavors. He was so helpful and understood exactly what we were looking for. Then we had to coordinate between the restaurant we were having our wedding dinner at and Maui Wedding Cakes, and honestly it was 0 effort from my side. The team at Maui Wedding Cakes coordinated with Sea House Restaurant and our cake was there when we arrived for dinner. The process was easy from my side. Now for the cake flavors, do yourself a favor and get the Vanilla Whip Cream Custard with a layer of Logsdon Lilikoi. The best cake I have ever had! So refreshing, so light and so flavorful! We also had Red Velvet for our smaller tier and it too was delicious. The 4" top, 8" bottom two tier cake was perfect for our party of 12 and we even had a little leftover to save and eat later in the week. Everyone in our party talked about how amazing the cake was, so I cannot recommend Maui Wedding Cakes enough! Thank you to the team at Maui Wedding Cakes for making our wedding cake so amazing!

What I got instead and know the decorations were put on by the hotel pastry chef. Casey only did the cake.

Let me tell you I've waited a little over 5 weeks before writing this review because I've been waiting for my wedding photos to be available to document and confirm my eyes were not messing with me. Before this review I emailed Casey to get his side of the story and to hear my feedback, unfortunately there was no follow through and it has been 5 days. Honestly would not recommend this company seeing how they don't seem to care about customer satisfaction. 1.5 stars for a decent tasting cake. Definitely could have gotten a custom cake from Costco for a lot less and good tasting. I ended up with Maui Wedding Cakes because Costco doesn't do two tier cakes. I reached out online through Casey's website after hearing about him through my wedding coordinator at Hotel Wailea. The website is not the best in terms of using it to provide Casey with inspirational photos. It only let you upload one. Casey responded back via email and quoted me for my 2 tier wedding cake. I wanted 6" and 8" with blue ombré from the bottom tier towards the upper tier. I provided the inspirational photos of what I was expecting and got a horribly designed cake. After doing my grand entrance and dances we walked over to the cake table for our cake cutting. When I saw it, I thought omg this cake is colored so horribly. I was freaking out inside, video and photography going, our guests and family have their eyes on us. I had to keep my composure the best I can, but after seeing my photos, I am pretty sure video will be 3x worse. I now have disappointed reaction on photos and video. Instead of what should have been an exciting and happy bride about to cut her wedding cake that she apparently got all hyped up to think that her wedding cake was going to be so beautiful and great tasting. I trusted Casey and I am now so regretful. I'll give Casey credit for telling me ahead of time that he thought going to dark of a blue on the butter cream would mess with the flavor and I told him I was fine with not going as dark blue as the photos to maintain the flavor, but instead he messed up on the ombré technique.. he didn't disclose the fact that he didn't have any clue/experience on how to pull off an ombré look and failure to distinguish color of newborn poop to gold! The wedding cake I received was nothing I had imagined or provided inspirational photos of. This cake looks like pure carelessness and laziness. For a cake costing almost $300 I expected someone to spend a bit more time on it especially when it's a wedding cake! Could have opted to use gold foil, gold sprinkles, SOMETHING... ANYTHING if you couldn't mix or have gold food safe paint. Literally gold luster dust cost about $6 for a jar. I would have gladly supplied it, although I would have been confused why he was charging so much for a wedding cake if he can't even decorate it to the customers liking. I've seen some photos on Yelp where ombré like design was used and nice gold colors. I am so confused as to how I received a cake so far from my inspirational photos. I am sure he's been in the business long enough (21years) to know better and be able to provide better options than what I got. Casey this cake did not turn out beautifully like you said in your final email to me prior to me dishing out almost $300. Disclaimer Yelpers, don't be fool by the top tier of the cake, toppers were supplied by me, flowers were ordered from Fernhouse and everything was placed on by Hotel Wailea's pastry chef. Kudos to him/her because if left for Casey to do, I think the outcome would have been a lot worse.

I contacted Maui Wedding cakes the week before for my best friend's birthday cake, I sent them online photos of what I think I would like and they were so easy to communicate with and the cake they produced for us was exactly what I wanted! The online ordering form was easy to use and the pick up instructions was straight forward. Lastly the flavors and taste of the cake was delicious! Highly recommend!

First off, the cake was excellent. My mom loved the chocolate on chocolate with pink butter cream frosting. Communication was excellent, and we were able to easily pick up the cake outside in the fridge after our long day. Which made things super easy on us since we didn't have to rush. I highly recommend if you are in need of any type of cake. We got exactly what we wanted for my mom's birthday cake! And it was so tasty!

We are so happy we chose Maui Wedding Cakes to provide the cake for our wedding. Due to Covid 19, we had to change our date 3 times, and Casey was always so patient, kind and willing to work with us. As for the cake, well it was absolutely delicious and couldn't have been more perfect for our special day! We highly recommend them! Mr & Mrs Daly

    Dungeons and Dragon birthday cake
    Sarita V.

Contacted Casey a while back to order a cake, celebrating my husband and 4 of his high school friends 50th birthday. All 4 boys and their families visiting from the mainland. Everyone was so impressed how detailed the dragon scale was done on the cake. The blue color I requested matched the photo I sent him and each scale was evenly done. Casey was very easy to talk to and knows exactly how I want the cake done. I ordered the Vanilla Cake and Vanilla Whip custard with Logsdon Lilikoi and Italian Vanilla Butter Cream icing. The combo flavors was exquisite and delicious. Dungeons and Dragons was the game my husband and his high school friends used to play growing up. Yeah they were bunch of nerds then and still is... lol! The dragon itself was purchased in Etsy and dices was from Amazon but without the excellent work of Casey this cake would not have been perfect. Thank you Casey! You did it again!

I only know this company because they were my wedding planner's cake vendor. I found it extremely easy to get ahold of Casey (baker and owner)- I was able to speak with him over the phone 2x and provide 1 email with images to get my dream wedding cake in Maui. My wedding planner told me the wedding cake I wanted was too difficult and Casey assured me that it was not. He did a great job. The one improvement they can make that would have made this a 5 star review is adding more filling in their cupcakes. The cake was delicious and full of filling, but I got a dime size taste in my cupcakes. The prices are reasonable and their online inquiring and ordering process is very user friendly. Every guest wanted 2 cupcakes! Cake Pros: Light buttercream frosting that doesn't melt easily but tastes like whipped cream frosting. -Recommend Lilikoi (passion fruit) flavor. The pina colada cupcake is rich but yummy. These are perfect for a beach wedding so sand did it get all over them. It was tiered and silverware was provided. I would definitely recommend working with Casey and his company to get your special cake order on Maui. He's easy to work with and everything turned out as expected!

Casey from Maui Wedding Cakes made this a fun and easy experience! He helped us with logistics and made the best cake! We opted for the Lilikoi filling with white chocolate mouse and fondant stripes - it turned out gorgeous and delicious- oh, and gluten free to boot! Now, if only I had more it! We will be back once covid pandemic fades. I might need a tiny version of our wedding cake... you know, for breakfast on the the Lanai!

Last minute wedding cake for 2

I was putting together a small sunset beach wedding with no guests. I wasn't going to do a cake. But the day of the ceremony I got sentimental and wanted to be able to have a piece of cake with my husband. I called Casey that morning thinking it was a Hail Mary pass. But he said he could do a small 6" cake and had it ready in about 4 hours. It was simple and beautiful. And tasted great! I am so appreciative of Casey making that happen for me!

Beautiful cake for destination wedding My friend tasked me with getting her a small personal wedding cake for her and hubby to be to enjoy after the reception. And here is the review of my experience with Maui Wedding Cakes - Order process: 5 stars - easy. Most information was on website and I only reached out because I wanted to know details to cake size and delivery as I am ordering from CA for a Maui destination wedding. My friend only wanted a small cake and asked for delivery to her hotel in Kaanapali. Even though the cake order was small and I asked lots of questions, Casey was very patient and speedy in responding. He made sure I felt comfortable with the order. Delivery: 5 stars - within delivery window as promised. I did get nervous as time was approaching since I had other errands to run, so I called a couple of times. I was reassured that it would be delivered on time and it did. I had a text when the driver was within 15 min away so I could meet her at the lobby. Presentation and packaging: 5 stars- beautiful, simple, and elegant. I let Casey know that since the cake would be stored in hotel room mini fridge that I was afraid it wouldn't fit. Casey used a smaller box and base and it had no issue fitting! He had a box half propped open wrapped with saran wrap so it showed the design (very pretty) without needing to open the box. Taste: 5 stars - according to the bride and groom, they LOVED it and said it was super tasty! Overall, FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE! Would definitely recommend!!

I needed a birthday cake in 3 days, and they were the only bakery out of the 4 I called that could do it on such short notice. The cake exceeded my expectations. So beautiful and DELICIOUS!!!! Thank you so much!!!! You're the best!!!!

Gotta be honest--when I dipped my spoon in, I was already judging. Looked kinda thin, not creamy like other mushroom soups I've had. I was thinking, "Ahh here we go." Took one spoonful and immediately had to humble myself. That soup was money. Like, stop-talking-and-just-eat. My wife tried it and confirmed that this soup was "winnahs" . Deep mushroom flavor with the right amount of seasoning. It also came with a little piece of focaccia toast which I would have really enjoyed but had to take my wife's word for it since she ate um all . Should've ordered the bowl. Rookie mistake. For my main, I went with the original eggs Benedict. Portions were a little on the small side, but with the roasted potatoes, I was good. Didn't leave hungry, didn't need to loosen the belt--perfect middle ground. My wife got the strawberry waffles and yeah... those were legit. She's not a syrup person, so she asked for more whipped cream. The waitress comes back with a little mountain of whipped cream in the little silver ramekin. All in all, solid spot. Friendly people, ono food, and little touches that make you feel taken care of. We will be heading to Cafe Kaila again to try some other stuff like the "chicken and waffles", and next time, I'm not playing around with the soup. Bowl, Garans.

chocolate haupia pie ($11) - i dont usually like chocolate…read moreflavored dessert but i have to say this one changed my mind - it is one of my favorite dessert on this island AND i loved it so much this deserves a five star woooo - i really went in not expecting much from it but every bite was delectable from the cream on top to the chocolate and coconut layers - first, as a cream hater who usually scrapes off the cream, i actually ate and enjoyed it; it was light and fluffy not heavy at all - second, the chocolate layer wasnt too sweet and was super velvety smooth; it got enough chocolate content but not too much that it'd be too rich and dense - third, the coconut layer wasn't offensively strong but it actually balanced out the sweetness from the cream and chocolate; it was also a bit gelatinous which enhanced the texture of this dessert - lastly, the tart was crispy and crunchy; not too thick and it also added another layer to the texture, completing the whole dish rating: 5/5 - quick service and half self service; nothing much to note; the pies were already pre made so the server just gave it to us immediately - very casual dining spot; family friendly; ambiance is giving little cabin type restaurants you would find when you're on a road trip IG: @nom.noms.only

Visited on a Tuesday around 9:55am right before opening, there was a line of about 15-20 guests…read moreahead of me so be prepared to wait. Restaurant opened promptly at 10am, guest slowly made their way in took us about 15min to place our order. Food: Apple Handheld Pie - size was about 3-4" long and 2" wide. Crust was okay somewhat flaky and fairly tender. Bake was a light golden color could have been baked a touch more. Apples were nice and chunky with sweet cinnamon sugar filling, good filling to crust ratio. Pie was covered in a confections sugar glaze which made it a bit sticky to eat, felt unnecessary for a handheld pie, overall okay. Service was quick order at the counter and staff packs your order, we grabbed our to go. Interior had about 15-20 tables l, self serve water and utensil station if you wanted to dine in. Overall seems like a convenient stop midway to Lahaina if you are looking for a sweet treat, wouldn't wait too long or go out of your way to visit but worth a try if you are in the area.
