Near the airport and beach access, this is a tourist favorite, although a fair amount of locals have been spotted here. I judge a bakery cafe on their croissant. And Momona's is on point. Fluffy inside, crispy shell and buttery goodness. The second test is their espresso. They use a mass produced bean, but the taste was ok. Has room for improvement here, but I doubt they are marketing to coffee snobs given the volume of patrons getting sweets and lunch fare. My wife loves her sweet treats and this is on her must visit list whenever we visit Maui. Happy wife Happy life. Aloha

The space is beautifully decorated inside an old bank, complete with a vintage vault. Since we arrived late, pastry options were limited. The ham and cheese tart (flaky), brownie (dense/decadent), and coconut slice (chewy) were great. The coconut roll, however, lacked flavor (skip it). Croissant breakfast sandwich & mortadella sandwich were good. The main disappointment was the salmon toast. It looked beautiful and was a large portion, but the two extra poached eggs I ordered were completely hard-poached. When I brought this up, the woman behind the counter flippantly told me, "Yes, this is how we make them." Poached eggs should ALWAYS have a runny yolk & I didn't believe her answer for a second. Clearly they made a mistake they did not want to own up to. I was highly disappointed by her attitude, especially since I paid extra for the eggs.

Lattes. I forget what they were. One had coconut and the other was some sort of Carrot cake. Both were a 5/5.

We were lured by the cooling fresh petite mango bread so we split one. Of course, I needed coffee so I ordered a Bee Nutz, which was perfectly sweet and creamy. We picked up some spam musubis to go with house made teriyaki sauce and a spicy option with jalapeño. Everything was delicious and fresh - and although we didn't get our hands on the sold out hot malasadas, I'm glad we were able to snag something tasty. Will arrive earlier next time for those malasadas!

The Char-Latte comes with in-house made dark salted caramel topped with a hit of local lava salt and is available hot or iced. Their iced version isn't your typical ice cube kind, but rather it's made with finely shaved ice from, you guessed it, Ululani's. Now, while I love Ululani's shave ice, I am not a big fan of using shave ice ice in my coffee. The ice melts way too fast and doesn't keep my drink cool for very long. Hence, the four stars. Regular ice cubes or even coffee ice cubes would be better, but it does the job and it's cheaper than other places at just under $6. They've improved quite a bit compared to when they first opened this location after having to close their Kihei shop for a while. I've watched as they quite literally were figuring things out as they went with the makings of the coffee, but they seem to have a better handle on everything now. If you want a bite to eat, they offer a handful of their greatest hits of baked goods like their banana and mango breads, scones, filled malasadas, cookies, and musubis. I recommend their filled malasadas (ube + lilikoi) and their mango/banana bread. Those are winners for sure.

They are right across the street so I may drive to the lot right next to the truck or just run across the street ! It's a cute, very clean food truck right off the hotel driveway & parking lot with parking stalls right near it in case you buy a bunch to take home. Or have a car full of luggage from your flight to Maui since it's just down the way from OGG airport. Malasadas put donuts to shame!!! ESPECIALLY if you like gooey fillings & toppings. My favorite ones are around Christmas but they have tons of regular fillings. I can never get less than three because I can't pass up my chance to try new ones. They have wonderful staff... especially the manager Sabrina...really know their way around dough and they do not scrimp on the Malasadas itself or the fillings! They ONLY cook just for you... so plan a few minutes wait but they have picnic tables under a tarp right there or you can walk around the other food trucks. But definitely at least take your first bites there while they're hot out of the frier!!! 'Only ONE piece of advice: ... G O. H U N G R Y !!!! ...

The sponge cake is so light, and the cream fillings are just as light, paired with fresh fruit. Nothing about it weighs you down. The strawberry and cream is my favorite, with the matcha strawberry coming in at a close second. But honestly, my suggestion is to go with the sampler box and get a slice of everything: strawberry, ube, mango, banana, matcha, and cookies and cream. You won't regret it. Just make sure to go early, because they sell out fast. Aside from the roll cakes, they also have bentos, musubi, and sandwiches, so there's plenty to love here. Shikeda does beautiful Japanese-inspired bento and patisserie, and if you have a sweet tooth but want something on the lighter side, this is the spot. Highly recommend!

There was the spam only musubi and one with egg which is what left with me. Initial visual is that it's juicy because of all the space and rolled in furukaki which are both things that I love! Nice hot when it left in my hand and out the door we went. The taste is good as the sauce wasn't too salty and the rice was just right; not to hard or soft. The rice was still able to hold together and the additional furukaki was generous. Nice shop to try! Street parking was easy for us this time

Lol!…read more I had this place called "Maui Manjookies" bookmarked on my places to visit on Maui, but ever since 2020, I stopped commuting to Maui on a weekly basis, so now when I do go to Maui for work, it's a rarity. Sold at a store called - "Mikes Mini Mart" in Kahului, you can get an array of different types of Manjookies. I was also told that Pukalani Superette also carries the Manjookies, but truthfully, I've never noticed the Manjookies, probably because I was sidetracked by their Chili Frrrrrrried Chicken, everytime I go to Pukalani Superette! Lol! Today, I finally got my Manjookie fix as one of my good friends - Nathan Y. brought me back a omiyage gift pack of Manjookies that consisted of - Lilikoi Pineapple, Strawberry, Matacha, Blueberry, Ube, & Cranberry Guava. What can I say about da Manjookies??? It is as advertised! The Manjookies have a different texture from traditional manju, & their unique fillings are not too sweet. I didn't eat all six Manjookies by myself, as I shared it with my ohana. I can see why folks would dig this treat, as it's like a hybrid of a manju & cookie! Great unique fillings and nice cookie texture! Da verdict? Majookie is Winnah's!
