I actually had several other "high end" bakeries tell me to "just go to WalMart". Tori on the other hand, agreed to take my custom order and delivered an absolutely first class product on time and on budget and did it all with a smile. We took our family vacation early November and in doing so we planned to do an intimate gender cake reveal too. Finding a notable and highly rated baker in Maui was at the top of my list. Getting in touch with Ariele was a breeze. Her communication from start to finish was excellent. And her options of cake and icing flavors were never ending, wow! You have classic flavors like strawberry, chocolate, cookies & cream, etc. to tropical flavors which is what we gravitated towards. We got a simple white 3 layered 4" guava cake filled with lilikoi buttercream finished in vanilla buttercream. I provided a reference picture and the little details I wanted on the cake. Everything we asked is what we received with the exception of having pink & blue sprinkles along the base piping but I'm not going to ding Ariele for that because it still looked so cute!!! We also tried their mango bread which was moist and fruity (no chunks of mango in it though) and the lime pie which was lovely! However, I think the big surprise for me was that the malasadas are smaller than I expected. The first time I had a malasada was at Leonard's in Oahu which are like...the size of your hand. These are more like golf ball sized. They were still excellent but I think that just caught me off guard. But we still enjoyed them!
