Stumbled upon this place and so glad I did. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I came to try the cinnamon roll, but they didn't have any that day :( but I settled for the ube mochi bread and POG bread and they were both delicious! They also have coffee, local spreads and other German breads that looked amazing. Recommend for a quick snack or if you're a foodie like me and want to take it back home to the mainland to share with loved ones :) read more

Chicken and green chill baked bun was fantastic. Have a beef brisket bun stored away for later. My wife had the artichoke and pesto bun with an iced coffee ( with coconut milk). Great beach lunch, we'll be back soon. We have now searched the island for Manapau buns and this place is our favorite. It was also the closest to us so no more exploring the island next time we have a craving. read more

First time here and I wanted to try one of everything! The place smells amazing, they have yummy samples and the service is super friendly and informative on all the goodies. We've tried a couple of the pastries we bought and they are delectable! read more

Maui Bread - PB cookie, scone three pack sampler, gluten free coconut cookie and lemon mochi - Bakeries Near Me - Kihei, Hawaii

Best bread in town I highly recommend owner and staff are very kind I plan on coming back my next trip.

So amazing, we had the bacon egg and cheese, and the ham/pineapple twist. Delicious! Wish we could have come here every morning.

Fantastic bread and treats. Best on Maui. Freshly baked - but try and come early, as they often sell out of items by later in the day.

So-so. Not sure what the buzz is about. Very overpriced and not that impressive. The customer service is lacking. Skip it, go to 808 deli instead. read more

Maui bread was a pleasant surprise! I ate at the cafe next door and decided to check out this bakery. It smelled so nice upon entering! They have lots of things to choose from. Some of the items reminded me of Asian bakeries. I tried the ube mochi, banana bread, hawaiian muffin, and cinnamon roll. All were moist, flavorful, and delicious!! If you're in the area it's worth a visit. I will recommend others who visit Maui to go here and hopefully I can come again soon. :) read more

The Pina colada sweet bun was mediocre. The coconut coffee interesting but nothing I'd order again. The pretzel baguette was delicious though! read more

A bit on the pricier side, but great place to get baked goods. Got the ube mochi bread and the pretzel roll, both of which were delicious.

Overall it was a unique experience enjoyed the pina colada pastry our first time here. Found online. Also enjoyed the almond croissant and passion fruit liklikoi pastry. read more

Don't let the modest exterior fool you, this place has some of the best breads I've ever taste. They have a perfect selection of breakfast or snack items and great loaves to take back to your home with you. Without a doubt, if I ever got the chance to come back to Maui, this would be my first stop. read more

Good eats, good price, good people! Grab your goodies to go, you'll thank me (and other folks willing to share). Especially if you aren't into doing some baking, they've got you covered. It ain't just the bread! read more

The thing I miss about Maui is breakfast at Maui Bread We enjoyed 5 great breakfast at Maui Bread. Each day trying something new. Some days we would buy 2 pastries each. When you start online orders, count us in. Do you self a favor and give them a try. We were disappointed when we moved to the other end of the island for the remainder of our vacation. read more

This place is located in the Dolphin Plaza, off of S. Kihei Road in Kihei, Maui. Located in the middle, it's one of 3 businesses owned by the same person, who has a talent for cooking great stuff! Maui Bread is not your typical bread shop! They are more like a Bakery with some pretty darn good pastry, local desserts (including mochi) hot dogs and even manapua!!! And their manapua is ONO (delicious)!!! I tried the Teriyaki chicken flavor and it was downright tasty! If you're a fan of the sister business, Maui Teriyaki, you will definitely love the manapua! Prices range from a couple of dollars up to around five bucks. But, since everything is so good, don't be surprised if you leave spending a thirty dollar bill! At least that's the norm for me! Plenty of free parking, but very small spaces and the hours are convenient enough that they're opened probably before most people start work and close after most people finish work. I've enjoyed all of the things I bought here, but you gotta try the manapua! Man...! read more

Quiet bakery right off Charley Young beach with a selection of German/Hawaiian bakeries (you can even find an French pain aux Amanda's). Stop by for breakfast and grab a coconut iced coffee and bacon/egg/cheese bun to start off day! Note: Location is closed mid week. read more

While looking for early morning breakfast, me and my friend stumbled upon Maui bread. I bought the hawaiian bread along with the ham and pineapple bread. Both were absolutely delicious. The hawaiian bread had a great tropical flavor from lots of dried local fruits and the bread itself was still warm and moist. The bakery was so good, we ended up returning the morning of our flight. I would definitely recommend stopping by this bakery in Maui! read more

What a great little place this is! We are staying on the other side of the island, but had to come to Kihei for something and decided to stop here for some of their special Pumpkin Butter Mochi. YUM. We hadn't planned on picking up lunch too, but couldn't resist the temptations in their bakery case. Later, on the beach, we enjoyed our ham and cheese on sweet buns. We will definitely be back here on our next trip to Maui. read more

This place is amazing for breads and desert breads. We tried the POG bread witch is absolutely amazing 10/10, we also got the white bread and pineapple bread. They do offer an amazing selection for gluten free and vegan options. They do not have a dedicated facility for gluten free, but they did tell me that they clean the kitchen and bake the gluten free before everything else, with that being said you can decide at your own risk. They have huge loaves for sandwiches or toast in a variety of kinds, white, sourdough, wheat. They can slice it for you if you ask, they slice it by hand if where your staying doesn't have knives. They also have other sweets like croissants and danishes but they do sell out quickly. The emoji pictures around the store are absolutely adorable. If you are staying nearby I recommend coming here to get some breakfast essentials. Definitely will be come back multiple times during our trip read more

Best of the island- hands down!!! We also got a macnut pie, banana bread and chocolate chip cookie. We're coming back for sure. 10/10 i wish i could give even more stars!!!! Lastly- the service makes you feel like your family. One of my favorite stops of this island BY FAR! read more

Great place for a great selection of yummy treats. We initially went in to buy a peanut butter cup mochi brownie bar.. ended up walking back in about 15 minutes later to buy 2 other flavors and a Mac Bourbon Pie. The Mac Bourbon Pie is wickedly good. Really, you need to try it out. The young man who was at the register was super helpful and had samples of their other treats. Prices were reasonable and nothing was overly sweet. All of the good reviews are true. read more

This place was amazing. I wanted to go somewhere local and off the resort and away from the East coast standard continental breakfast. I had a pineapple coconut sweet bread which was amazing, POG juice, and took home mochi and POG bread. All four were outstanding. I returned the next day with my husband to eat and drink and take home more yummy bread and mochi. Personally, I think the review that knocks the mochi is kind of inaccurate; baked mochi is Hawaiian, if you want other kinds of Mochi, go to Japan. This is what originated in Hawaii. Same with the POG juice; it seems like the author was misinformed or just trying to complain, note how he/she talked about the absence of strong flavors when ordering a mild tasting product. I found this cafe a must-do. Amazing service too, very friendly. read more

This place has the best homemade bread I've ever had in my life! So far I've had the Pina Colada sweet bread, the coconut sweet bread, the coffee sweet butter bread which is new, and a brand new loaf of their sweet potato bread. Omg so legit! The owner is a really sweet, older Asian lady. Go here!!! read more

I was pretty excited to find this bakery. I was somewhat dismayed to see each item individually wrapped in plastic wrap. I was under the impression that Maui was very conscious of environmental impact. With that being said, we bought 2 cookies( Peanut butter and a coconut macadamia nut). I loved the cookies, very moist and soft. We also got 2 individual loaf cakes. One with coconut and one with coconut, raisins, pineapple and carrots. They both had the same flavor profile and they were both super greasy. Like overly greasy. I did not care for those at all. read more

Sweet treats for anytime of day. Great friendly service, knowledgeable staff who are genuinely happy to help and a good variety of savory and sweet goods to keep the tummy full and happy. One of the highlights is their mochi. It's not like traditional mochi. It's more cake like and has a great texture and wonderful floral like flavors. It's definitely worth a try (they have free samples!). It's a great option for a quick bite, snack or light lunch with one of their portugués sausage rolls. You can enjoy your meal with coffee, tea, or juice at one of their tables outside or take it to the beach or park across the street. All that without breaking the bank. Definitely worth checking out. read more

my Son and I love this place. We love the fresh baked bread. There are so many options, we get to pick a different pastry every time we go. The juice if soo fresh and delicious. The community that works there is amazing, so welcoming and kind. We as a family are honored to support this locally owned business. Totally reasonably priced and 100% worth every bite filled with love. read more

I loved their brownies, and that was pretty much it. Their mochi bread was fair, but nothing significant. Their banana bread, pineapple bread, and Hawaiian bread were all mediocre. I could have bought something that tasted like that in a grocery store for a cheaper price. I definitely expected more for their banana bread and was unfortunately underwhelmed. read more

This is one of my favorite pastry shops anywhere. When you enter, you are swept away by the delicious smell and f fresh baked goods and you eyes are held feast to a variety of treats. They have a hot case with savory meat rolls or pig in a blanket style rolls, many gluten free, veggie, or pork free options. We bought some croissants - chocolate ones were the bomb! - and they were great the next morning heated up for breakfast at 6am before our adventures. Definitely worth visiting read more

Everyone who worked the counter and in the bakery was super helpful and super sweet. I'm guessing the man that I talk to you was the owner, he helped me find the location and greeted me when I came in. Everyone thing just for our business, and the banana bread was probably one of the best that I've ever had. Would for sure recommend! I'm am gluten free and it's so hard to find GF options on Maui, especially for breakfast!
