    Cat enjoying a nap

We came to celebrate for my daughters 14th bday. I wanted to expose our family to the idea of getting a cat and what kind of kitty personality would fit out fam bam best. The staff were really nice, we ordered coffee and hot chocolate and enjoyed our time playing and petting cats. The energy is light and playful and relaxing.

Mauhaus is just the best place in the world! Great music, great coffee and AMAZING kitties! I always feel so at peace here. I highly suggest making a reservation so you can go right in to see the cats when you arrive. Defintley try their coffee it's soooo good. They also have delicious pastries.

Never in 1 million years would I have thought of this business model for myself, but it is genius! It seems as if they were printing money based on the city flow of everyone in and out of the café with reservations for one hour at a time. Obviously, you come here for the cats and there's also some really good coffee too. Adults can have a one hour reservation for $11 and children under 12 for $6. Included with your reservation as a complementary beverage, they have little hot chocolates, juices and milk like chocolate and strawberry, and Italian sodas for the kids. They also have hot and cold chip coffee with flavors as well for the adults. If you do not want any of these options you can also opt for anything else on their menu at 25% off. They also have a small gift shop in the corner with cute little items to purchase. We decided to opt to stay with the cats and the coffee, such a great combo. The staff was really warm and welcoming, we really enjoyed our time there, and it is such a treat that we will try to make it a more regular thing.

I would highly recommend this cat cafe!! The cats were super friendly and cute. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the cats and any questions we had. The coffee was delicious and they said they use local espresso from a place in maple wood. I got one of their monthly/seasonal coffees, I believe it was called the bossy moxie. Will definitely be back!

Very lucky to have Mauhaus in the St. Louis region because usually cat cafes are not as good as this one. Came during COVID, but they took many safety precautions to make sure that we felt safe. You do need to have a party of maybe 4+ people to make a reservation as you have one hour of free time with all of the cats. They have a capacity of 18 cats and all of them are extremely friendly and will let you pet them which is great! They are not shy around humans and if cats are your thing, it will be the best $10 you have ever spent. Also a bonus is that their free drinks that come with your ticket are also pretty good. Definitely recommend if you are ever in the region and I will definitely be back.

What a great place. I was definitely impressed with their expansive cat habitats. The chai tea was great. My son liked the Peppermint mocha. Both the chocolate chip cookie and the Apple Butter Snickerdoodle were delicious. We will be back to play with the cats as well as a nice snack!

If you're crazy about cats, this cafe was made for you! We were travelling through St. Louis and the adventurers that we are, decided to go off the beaten path. We love our cats and love spreading the love to other cats, and coffeehouses! This place was the perfect blend. $10 per adult and $6 per child per 30 minutes we were able to stay for 1 hour to visit with the cats in house and drink some beverages and snack on treats. I got the Lorelai Latte (named after a beautiful calico resident cat) and boy it is packed with powerful flavors and caffeine! My girls got a cup of milk and an italian soda, and the hubs got a drip coffee. We got a mint chocolate chip brownie and a cat sugar cookie and both hit the spot. Gotta beware of inquisitive cats when you're dining in the cafe! The space is perfectly built for the cats there, the climbing structure built into the wall up to the ceiling was awesome. Fortunately, most of the cats were down below and pretty social. You're not allowed to pick up any of the cats, but one friendly grey and white cat found a perfect spot on the hubs lap and was happy to be pet! There's lot of toys to play with the cats and our hour flew by very quickly.

This place is so charming! The set up for the cats is outstanding, the cats all seemed to love it there. It smelled fine as well despite there being so many. I had jasmine tea as well that was very yummy. The worker in the room was kind enough to take a photo of my family when asked, we went for Father's Day. I expect to come back when and if I can!

It was cute! I love all things cats and kitties. The cat area was small but clean with a few tables to sit at, and there were quite a few cats though they were very shy (as cats are) The only problem was that we had to pay by the hour instead of other cats cafes I've been to where we get to drop in and stay as long or short as we want. Granted, it might be more the experience than the actual cafe part but I still want to be able to leave earlier or later. And when our time was up, they were adamant that we leave as soon as possible. The other thing was that the iced coffee that I ordered was pretty awful and watery. Yes, the cats make half of the cafe, but they should be able to make a decent coffee.

For my mom's birthday (we call her the cat lady) I thought it would be great to take her to MauHaus. At first I thought it was a full service cafe, but it only serves hot/cold drinks and desserts. There are a few savory option. But, thank god it's not cause I wouldn't know how to eat a meal with all the kitties around... they tried to get our sweet treats!! This place is a hidden gem with a Great Mission behind it... to get these kitties adopted into good homes. The coffe/sweets were yummy... all made in house. The kitties were very entertaining unless they were sleeping. I highly suggest to make a reservation on the website. It is $10/pp which goes directly to helping MauHaus take care of the Resident Felines. There is a little gift shop if you need a shirt or cookbook. The staff were friendly and answered any questions you may have... a waiver is needed to enter the cat area as well. Check this place out....

I'd been wanting to check one of these out so we immediately went inside. The first room is where you can place and order for a drink from the cafe and check in for your visit. We didn't have reservations but they were able to accommodate us without a wait. Entry was $5 per person which I felt like was a good value. There are two floors of nooks, seating and of course cats! The best interactions seemed to be the natural ones. We sat down at a table with a game of scrabble and had a couple of visitors come by. Overall happy we did it and really enjoyed our visit! This could be a place to come back to many times. Free street parking

The facility is cute! A downstairs and an awesome upstairs with windows, a large table, chairs, and the cars who just want to get away from it all (downstairs is smaller and busier). I had a lemonade and only stayed 10-15 minutes. I'm glad this place isn't full of cushions like the other local cat cafe I have visited. I think that must help with the hair and likely the aroma too. It does smell like an animal shelter in the combination of animal + recently cleaned scents. This did not bother me. My experience was not what the first reviewer's were, nor would I mind much if it had. (No shade to Karen; she should share her opinion of the place.) Gentle reader, if the cats happen to not be "friendly" or "social," consider that they were recently rescued from the euthanasia lists at local shelters. Maybe they're not used to being in a building with so many people coming, going, and letting them all day... Or being in a room with multiple cats. Or maybe it's just what they are like. Not all cats are extroverted. They can still make great pets. They're purrfect to me! Will be back with friends!

I was even more pleasantly surprised to see MUD\WTR on the menu, I recently quit drinking caffeine, and of course I have seen a lot of ads for mushroom coffee, I very much appreciated the opportunity to order it here as opposed to having to buy it online to try it. Personally, I liked the mushroom coffee, I have always drank coffee black and I appreciated the flavor of the mushroom, turmeric and additional spices.

I'd just done a training run that began and ended at the shoe store across the street. At the conclusion, I was given a Paloma-flavored non-alcoholic beer, courtesy of one of my running group's sponsors, but what was I supposed to do with that? It was decided that we needed coffee. (How ironic, by the way. Receiving a free beer from your sponsor.) We seem to have gotten there just in time. There was already a healthy crowd of people who apparently weren't runners, based on their physique (lol jk), and several people from our running group arrived after we did. People apparently like this place. The vibe is quirky and independent, with a lot of random decor, including a Blues Brothers poster and a sign declaring that the Teletubbies are welcome, and a lot of local-interest signage and artwork. People in the City love to remind themselves that they're in St. Louis. You never see anything like that in my native West County. Truth be told, I wouldn't even go into a coffee shop unless someone else suggested it. It costs less at QT. But I figured when in Rome. I wasn't about to get a sandwich, in part because I wasn't hungry, and in part because I'm always wary of food from places that specialize in coffee, but I figured I'd try one of their fancy coffee drinks instead of just a regular coffee. I went with something called a Zippity Do Da, or something to that effect. It was a latte, served hot or cold (I of course went with hot), with... if I'm not mistaken, peanut butter, honey and mocha. I liked the idea that there was a peanut butter element, in part because I couldn't imagine what that would be like. Peanut butter, even the welfare version you get at Aldi, is at least somewhat viscous. Was this going to be more like a milkshake? That could be gross, and grossly caloric, canceling out any benefit of my training run. Of course I was going to drink it anyway. Turns out that the peanut butter was the element that was least prominent in the overall taste of this drink, though you could in fact taste it. I found it impressive that, if you concentrated hard enough, you could detect elements of peanut butter, honey and mocha. It's like when you purchase a fancy bottle of wine, from, perhaps, the aforementioned Aldi, and you really can taste bits of oak, vanilla, campfire and a slight nuttiness. No Diddy. These people are true coffee artists, the cafe equivalent of people who work at Subway. I'm at the nearby shoe store every once in a while, so maybe I'll return. I might even cop a bagel.
