We decided to upgrade our bedroom with a new bed and dresser. We had purchased a mattress from this store, but it was a different location in DC, and a good 7 years had passed. We were checking-out the queen size Posturepedic type mattresses, and they definitely come with some advanced technology these days. After some time we found nally narrowed it down to two types. The Posturepedic Plus Hybrid High Point and the regular Posturepedic Hybrid High Point. They both come with a cooling system, as well as, advanced memory foam. However the Posturepedic Plus has the premium memory foam and a pro-zoned coil system which provides additional support. Porsche gave us some great guidance, and she is well-versed on the different features. The store also has some great fiance options and the delivery is free and within 48 hours. Mentioned to a friend that I planned to buy a mattress off of Amazon and he counseled me to see Chima at Mattress Firm instead. I am SO glad he did because I had the chance to try the mattress I'd been eyeballing and it really was not it... I would've saved a bit initially but I can't imagine the pain of returning a mattress off Amazon and I would've spent more long term. I digress. I was seeking something to prevent "motion transfer" because my beau's tossing and turning would've led to a sleep divorce. Chima coached me towards an adjustable base that really steadies the bed. (My current bed had been on a box spring and basic frame with the wheels and I was planning on just doing that again.) WHOA what a difference. I'd never considered a sleep base in my life, but I could not feel the other side of the bed at all even when my boyfriend moved around aggressively to test it. 4.5 stars for an excellent mattress buying experience. When my wife and I moved up to Georgetown in DC, we knew we wanted to get a nice new mattress. However, we didn't really know how to go about buying one, so we looked up the word "mattress" on Yelp and came across this Mattress Firm with solid reviews. Located near the intersection of Wisconsin and 33rd Street, this store was relatively close to us and open during hours when us as busy attorneys would be free, so we ventured on over. We went inside the store and encountered a rather friendly salesman. He gave us a little background on how the store was set up (color coding to differentiate between firm, medium and soft) and helped us go from bed to bed to try them out. He also gave us a little cover for laying on the pillows (yay for cleanliness) and directed us towards the massive downstairs area to see even more inventory. While he did have a few mannerisms typical of a salesman, he was generally pleasant and not overly pushy. After looking for about an hour, we decided to keep researching and left without making a purchase. After doing more research and buying the Purple mattress (which didn't turn out to be as good as the commercials indicated), we came back to the store a couple months later over the recent Memorial Day weekend. The same salesman greeted us and didn't hold any grudges about us not buying from him previously. He showed us more mattresses and helped narrow our search for one of the plush mattresses. After looking for a while, we ultimately decided to get Sleepy's mattress (the brand made by Mattress Firm) since it was one of the softest and better priced options. After making the selection, we spoke with the salesman and he told us about how a basic adjustable base came for free as part of the Memorial Day sale, as well as how the King beds were being sold for Queen prices. While he did try to upsell us to the better adjustable base, he let it go quickly when we declined and happily helped us apply for financing and walk us through the delivery process ($79 all inclusive). We got through the paperwork fairly quickly, shook his hand and left. The mattress arrived a couple days later. Overall, Mattress Firm Georgetown is a great mattress store with a large selection, good prices and a good sales team. If you are looking to go mattress shopping, I'd recommend stopping by this location to try out some mattresses and see if they have what you need. read more

Fortunately I've always had good experiences with buying mattresses. I walked in and was greeted by Victoria. I explained that I was looking for a very firm mattress that was reasonably priced, and that she could probably avoid any that emphasized "luxury" or "technology" She took me downstairs and directed me to the Sleepy's Slumber firm mattress. I asked for a full price that included springs, basic base, delivery and taxes. I don't like bargaining, but I did ask if there were any additional discounts. She said they would match any cheaper online price, which saved me $100. The total price was little over $1200, a little more than I hoped, but about what I expected. The confirmation & delivery process is very efficient and automated. A confirming e-mail, and then a confirming call, text and e-mail with the 2 hour window. And then the same when you are next up for delivery. They got their midway through the 2 hour window, and were in and out in 15-20 minutes for delivery, set up, clean up and trash removal. Very nice 2 man crew. After a few weeks, the bed is just fine. Beds last a long time if you don't abuse them. But if I do need a new bed in the future, I'd return to the Georgetown Mattress Firm read more

We've had a rough time with Mattress Firm Georgetown lately. We are an interior design firm in Georgetown and ordered from them several times before in the past but will find a new store for the future. This past time, when I called at 5:00 at night to ask for a timeframe for our delivery next day the guy at the store was very curt and annoyed on the phone and told me to call back later in the evening if I didn't get a robocall. We didn't get a call so I had to call back at 8:45. He also seemed annoyed to be helping me because he said that we did not order through his store (we did order through his store). The next day the delivery company gave us a 10 minute warning that they were on the way to our client's house, which is not enough time to get to the house. By the time we got there, the delivery company had left and refused to answer the phone and then hung up on us. The next day when we rescheduled, the delivery men were incredibly rude. read more

I'm really disappointed in this mattress firm location. I called on Monday because we were within our 100 day trial of our current mattress and wanted to either return it or exchange it for another option. I spoke with a woman who quoted me a price that was $600 higher than what I saw online for the mattress we were interested in; she promised to call me back once she had double checked on the price. After waiting for 3 hours for a return call, I called back and spoke to her once again. At this point she informed me she'd forgotten to call me back but that she wanted to wait to confirm everything until her manager could call me on Tuesday morning. I have never heard back from anyone at this mattress firm and am now looking at a mattress price that has changed to its original price. I could have saved $600 but due to the complete lack of follow through and proper business practices from this business, I'm now forced to either keep the mattress we are not totally happy with or spend a chunk of money that yesterday I could have saved. read more

This is what happens when Private Equity money gets involved in previously normal businesses. Sleepy's and Mattress Warehouse have now merged into Mattress Firm and pretty much have a monopoly nationally with 3,500 stores. Suddenly mattresses range from $1,600- $7,000 dollars and the hype that goes with them is ridiculous. Despite all of the "sleep happy " or your money back- what they mean is most of your money back- there's a $150 exchange fee. Better to be a shareholder than a customer. Suss out what you want here and then buy it online. **As per other reviews- Tony is indeed a genuinely nice and knowledgeable manager. read more

DON'T DO IT!!!! I purchased 4 memory foam pillows. When I got home and removed them from the packaging they all had a really foul odor of chemicals. I allowed them to air out for a week to see if the odor would dissipate but unfortunately the odor is still present. These pillows are unusable and have never been used but when I went back to return them the salesperson told me that pillow are not returnable. I asked for a manager there was no one available and I was told to come back tomorrow. This company will allow the return of a mattress that has been used for 30 days however unused pillows are not returnable. Please note that there is no notice of the return policy on my receipt nor is it posted in the store. read more
