After looking around Pasadena at different stores for a mattress we met Paul at Mattress City on 937 E.Colorado Boulevard. He took a lot of time with us explaining everything about the various brands and models. The mattress we chose is wonderful!!! But Two days after delivery I changed my mind and wanted the additional 3 inch leg (which Paul had suggested) added to the existing legs to make the bed higher. The staff is very nice and friendly, and explain things extremely well. The salesman was Torrance, very friendly guy, and he agreed to have the delivery guy installing the headboard for us. After we purchased our mattress, the delivery guy came and gave us the mattress box that was too big, and they forgot to bring the material to install the headboard. The staff was very friendly and said they would deliver a different mattress box for free. So the delivery guy came again, and brought the right size of mattress box, however they again forgot to bring the material needed to help us install headboard to bed frame. The delivery guy says they never do any extra services and left quickly. It was so frustrating, and we don't want to bother calling them again for anything else. They are super friendly and nice people, good price, but a huge huge disconnect between them and the delivering service. read more

My fiancé and I needed a new cal-king bed. Ours was worn out and has dips. My fiancé called the store first and spoke with Michael. He explained to michael about what kind of bed would be best and how each of us sleep. While my Dad and I were making our deal bed frames came up. My Dad had said "well the bed frame you're throwing in is probably something dinky from China. That's why we want the better bed frame that doesn't need a box spring." Eric replied with "oh no sir... our frame are made with railroad steel, and we only sell products that are made in the United States!" I was in desperate need of a new mattress so I decided to take advantage of the Black Friday sales. I shopped around a couple of mattress stores and decided to go with Mattress City. Winston was the salesperson who assisted with my questions and needs. He was clear and straight to the point, no beating around the bush on upselling or trying to get me to buy something that was out of my budget. He started by asking for my mattress size and if I had anything specific in mind. I told him that I've been sleeping on an IKEA mattress and it's causing me upper back and neck pains. Immediately, he directed me to a mattress that was very firm and provided great support. He told me that was the "Good" one. The next one he showed was the "Better", which felt great when I tested it out. He told me that I don't need to bother with the "Best" because it's way expensive. He was right, it was way out of my budget. He also showed me a Tempur-pedic that was splendid, but also very expensive. A good bed is indeed a worthy investment, but after testing them out, I went with the "Better" option because it was the most balanced out of them all, in terms of comfort, support, and price. The whole process was great because Winston didn't tell me to go around and test out 10 beds. He knew what I needed and told me to pick from 2-3, and encouraged the "Better" option because it is what he and his son use. During the visit, Winston was kind enough to educate me throughout the process and gave me suggestions on what mattress toppers to look for in case I want to add some additional softness while keeping the firmness. The whole purchase experience was wonderful. I left the store happy and can't wait for the mattress to be delivered. read more

This is our third mattress from this great spot. We've purchased mattresses at two other mattress stores in the 626 before and weren't satisfied. We price checked the mattress we wanted at other retailers like Costco, Home Depot (surprisingly) and even directly from Tempur Pedic, but the extra bundles and information that Brian helped us out with is what keeps us coming back here. Moreover, the prices were best here, even over Costco (check for yourself, because they have limited firmness, sizes and available models).
