Misleading information on a "2-year" floor model that appears closer to 4 years used... I'm sharing this so other buyers are aware before purchasing a floor model. I visited Ortho Mattress and was helped by Brian, who was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to walk me through multiple options. I made it clear that I value sleep quality and durability, and I was willing to invest in a high-quality mattress that would actually last. He showed me an Aireloom Chester floor model and spoke highly of Aireloom as a premium brand - that even the White House had Aireloom mattresses in at one point. The mattress felt great in-store, supportive and firm. Because it was a final sale floor model, I specifically asked: How long has this mattress been on the floor? Has it had a lot of use? I was told it had been on the floor for about 2 years, and that luxury mattresses like this typically see less foot traffic. Based on that - along with my own research that floor models around ~2 years can still be a good value - I moved forward. The mattress was originally around $5,500 and I purchased it for about $2,000 (plus tax), with a box, frame, and protector included. What happened after delivery: On the first night, I woke up with significant back pain and noticed the mattress was bowing in the middle. After sleeping on it more, it became clear there are compression zones that aren't obvious during a quick in-store test, but become very noticeable overnight. Eventually I couldn't take the back pain anymore and moved the mattress out of my bedroom and into the living room. That's when I checked the tag: The mattress shows a manufacture date of February 2022 and delivery in March 2022, which makes it closer to 4 years old, not 2. That's essentially double the represented wear time, and it directly impacted my decision to purchase. Attempt to resolve the situation with the store: I contacted the store and spoke with district management. I explained that: I made the purchase based on the "~2 years" representation The condition and tag suggest significantly more use I'm not asking for a refund - just a mattress I can actually sleep on. I was told there is nothing they can do due to the final sale policy. Final thoughts: I understand what "final sale" means, and I take responsibility for that. But final sale shouldn't mean accurate information doesn't matter. The difference between 2 years and ~4 years of use is significant when it comes to support and longevity. Had I known the true age and condition, I wouldn't have purchased it. It's frustrating because I went in trying to invest in better sleep and ended up worse off. Advice to others: If you're considering a floor model: -I personally wouldn't after this experience -If you do, verify the actual manufacturing date yourself -Don't rely only on how it feels in-store -Be very cautious with final sale items where you have no protection Brian was professional during the sales process, but overall this has resulted in a $2,000+ mistake and ongoing back pain. I'd still be open to a reasonable resolution if the store chooses to take accountability and make this right. read more

Damaged bed during delivery and installation 4 weeks ago. The issue is still not resolved. They didn't answer their phone, listen to messages or return calls or emails for almost 2 weeks, and then told us they couldn't accept responsibility for damage done a week later'. Same driver was also sent to our house with different box springs and admitted that he removed pieces to 'try to make it fit'. I'm so upset. This was such a large purchase for my husband and I, and now we have a damaged heirloom. Customer service may be great in the store because they're trying to sell you something. But delivery, installation and customer service AFTER you've spend money is horrible. read more

We called Emanuely and in less then 5 minutes, and completely over the phone We had our mattress ordered hassle free. While in the store we never felt pressured and left feeling well informed. Disappointed with their install. Bed collapsed after their deliverers messed up my rails.

First off, this place has the best customer service from the other 5 mattress vendors we visited today. My wife and I spent our whole day shopping for a matters and the place we went to last was the place we bought from. I learned so much about mattress than I have ever known. Bill pointed out numerous things to consider while buying a mattress. He really understands the buyers needs. I highly recommend stopping by the store. We went twice in one day and came out with a mattress. That's how comfortable we felt. We are super excited, thanks Bill. read more

He was very knowledgeable and explained everything we needed to know about purchasing a new mattress. After evaluating all the details and offers, we decided to go with Ortho. This is my first time mattress shopping and it was a good experience. There are different brands and types of mattresses to choose, it could be a little overwhelming, and the sales associate suggested a few for me to try out. Even still I tried out about half a dozen other ones with no rush. I would say the only negative thing about the store is they don't sell many accessories, like headboards and bed frames; you would have to plan to buy those in advance elsewhere, if you are a new mattress consumer, but if you are just looking to replace your old mattress, it is not a big issue. *update- the delivery guys were not friendly; it is their job to deliver new mattresses and move old ones but they refused to help move my sofa bed to another room when I asked. read more

I want to give a big shout-out to Emmanuel who helped us pick out a twin mattress on our recent visit. We haven't purchased a mattress in years so we really didn't know what to look for. Emmanuel was kind, knowledgeable and courteous and helped us select the perfect mattress. He even helped us load it into our car. Price was very good and the showroom itself is clean and has a wide variety of mattresses. I'll definitely come back to see Emmanuel at Ortho Mattress Monrovia when I need a new mattress. read more

Came here to pick out a mattress without much of an idea of what I was looking for. Emmanuel helped me out and helped me try out dozens of different mattresses and was extremely patient throughout the whole process. I never felt rushed at all. He was also very considerate of my budget. I never felt pressured to go for the more expensive option and he even looked for ways to help me save! Left the store having ordered a brand new mattress, very happy at how pleasant the whole experience was. Thank you Emmanuel and I'll be sure to refer any friends and family in need of a mattress to your store. read more

Emanuel was very helpful and knowledgeable! He was able to assist in locating a mattress for my mom!

Firat time shopping for a mattress can be exciting but scary with all the options and selections. Even though we had recommendations from friends and family but to really try it outcan still be overwhelming. When we talked in to orthro mattress, Emmanuel greeted us with professionalism, he educated us to help us with our selections but did not pressure us with particular brands or extra options. After tedious thoughts and consideration we decided to go with the beautyrest black desiree firm luxury with ultra premium protect cover. They had free next day delivery and haul away. They called me at 9:16am to tell me delivery will be about 3-7, called again at 4:15 to let me know the delivery guys will be here in about 15-30mins. They set up everything in less than 20mins. I really enjoyed the purchasing process, very glad I went through orthro mattress. read more

In the essence of full disclosure, I was asked to write a Yelp review to receive $150 off the price of our mattress :) Yolanda helped us and she was really nice and sweet and most importantly DID NOT BOTHER US OR PUSH US to buy anything. She walked us through trying on mattresses and then left us alone!! It was great not feeling any pressure to buy or buy immediately. I knocked off a star because I'd like cheaper prices :) read more

My husband and I walked into the store curious about prices, and right away I was greeted by Emmanuel. He was very helpful and knowledgeable about every mattress. Emmanuel encouraged us to try several different ones, considering we both have very different mattress preferences and we were able to find the right mattress with his guidance. I am very happy with my decision to come here. I must say I would not have made any purchasing decisions if it were not for this gentleman that helped us out today. I have been in this shopping plaza many times however never realized there is a mattress store here next to Ross and Home Depot. We compared prices at JcPenney's, Macy's and Sears before stopping by this store. We were pleasantly surprised not only by the terrific selection and prices (which beat out all the other stores) but the customer service as well. As others have mentioned, we had Yolanda help us pick out the perfect king sized bed. We ended up with the Stearns and Foster hybrid. It appears all stores carry the same mattress but some are under different names depending on store. Many years ago while in college I sold mattresses. Stearns and Foster was the way to go and it appears that it still is the top of the line. It was refreshing to speak to a salesperson who knew the history of the product, could speak to us in an engaging fashion and helpful in every way. (unlike all the other local stores we visited) We purchased the mattress set and even upgraded based on the information Yolanda gave us! I hope the manager of this store recognizes that professional sales people like Yolanda are incredibly hard to come by. I should know because I have spent the last 20 years in the executive sales industry. Thanks for making this a terrific purchasing experience!! read more
