I have been to this restaurant several times and tried several dishes not once have I been disappointed with any of the dishes that I've gotten from sushi, Poké bowl , Karaage chicken and the Miso soup everything has been on point. The order can be a little tricky, but the customer service is always nice and friendly. I highly recommend this place two thumbs up.

I was nearby in the area looking for dinner and thank goodness I found Matsupoke. Service was quick and the workers there were very friendly. I got a build your own poke bowl and it is delicious! Worker also gave me miso soup on the house, also very good. Place itself is very clean with lots of places to sit. Glad I found this place and I will definitely be returning back!

So delicious! My first taste of Poke was in Hawaii many years ago. . This was by far the best I've had since. YUM! Very fresh ingredients. Owner was quite hospitable. Definitely returning soon! 매우 감사합니다!

Mini Poke

I happen to find this while waiting for my kids order from Hangry Joe. I tried the mini Poke bowl and Don Katsu. I fell in love!! The mini Poke bowl was not too much or too little, perfect size. The Don Katsu pork was perfect dinner portion. The owner is so sweet and nice. It just opened up in the summer. Super friendly staff, clean, and beautiful decor.

The options are all your typical poke ones, although they also have mango which I haven't seen as often in the area. The bowls were a good size with lots of protein and toppings. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. I also appreciate that they were very careful not to mix utensils for proteins which helps with seafood allergies. We will definitely be coming back here.

I ordered a salad with salmon (and added extra). I was excited to see that mango and crushed macadamia nuts were topping options (which are rare) and that I could add as many toppings as I wanted for no extra charge. I was also excited to be able to add a 12oz miso soup for $1. My husband ordered a rice bowl with salmon, yellowtail, and ahi. We both agreed that the miso soup was the most flavorful we've ever had and that the poke was the best we've had since our honeymoon in Hawaii (and we travel a lot and often get poke). However, the portion sizes (both fish and bowl as a whole) were much smaller than other decent poke places for the same price. I think we'll come here sometimes since the quality is so high, but it's probably not always worth driving the extra distance due to small portions. We were both hungry after finishing. The only additional toppings I'd love to see are pickled daikon and eel sauce like at Poki DC.

The menu was very extensive serving Japanese and Korean dishes. I started off with the Yellow Tail Collar for my appetizer. I was excited when I saw the size of the portion being served to me. Although, it was very dry which was a let down. It was also a bit bland as well. For my main dish I got a rice bowl, an unagi bowl to be exact. Again, it was just adequate. Thankfully the bowl was a generous amount of food. Sadly, it was just a bit one dimensional and I got tired of eating it after awhile. Also, I felt like the bones were a little more pronounced than what I am use to when eating eel. Therefore, my experience was average. I may give it another shot if I am in the area again.

Attached is a picture of the what the Lion King Roll is supposed to look like and what we received. The crab meat on top looks like a spaghetti. The end pieces of the roll (that didn't have the tail) were all avocado and not even a little shrimp, I know that skimping out on the ends is normal but no shrimp at all is ridiculous. After eating two pieces my stomach has been hurting for the last 7 hours. The last time we got lunch from here the rolls we normally love did not taste the same, but at least they didn't get us sick so we thought maybe it was unlucky. They need to fire whoever is making the rolls during lunch because this quality control is terrible.

However, they do a good takeout business, as we noticed several people come in to pick up their orders. Before coming here, we looked at their menu. Thus, we knew what we wanted when we got here. Service was great. The staff here is friendly and efficient. Our server checked on us more than once during our meal. To drink, my husband ordered a Kirin Light beer while I ordered a glass of plum wine. Some Japanese places fill the glass too high, but here, the portion size was reasonable. I ordered "the poke bowl". I chose salmon for my fish. This bowl consists of "Sushi-grade fish topped with vegetables, mixed with poke sauce over a choice of mixed greens or rice". I chose the rice. Before coming here, I looked up "poke sauce." I found a website called "pokebowlny.com." This is the description they gave: "traditional poke sauce blends soy sauce, sesame oil, and often rice vinegar, along with aromatics like garlic and ginger. This classic combination makes the fish taste fresher, the vegetables more vibrant, and the rice more flavorful." The vegetables in the bowl were kernel corn, seaweed salad, and cucumbers. I really enjoyed having this meal! All the flavors worked well together. I look forward to having it again. Along with the poke bowl, a bowl of miso soup is included. That, too, was quite good, and it came to the table quite warm. My husband ordered "Tuna Don," which consists of "fresh tuna sashimi over rice & vegetables. His entrée came with both miso soup and a small side salad. The bowl had a big slice of radish, some seaweed salad, and the usual shredded daikon. The wasabi was really spicy - he could feel it in his nose and sinus cavity - it'll take your head off. The generous portion of tuna was large with thicker slices than he'd ever seen before.

Got to check off eating here as it's been on my list of places to try for years. The fresh flowers are a nice touch. We received complimentary treats from the kitchen which set the standard for what was to come. Could have eaten a million more. Our tuna tartare arrived and upon eating our first bites, the taste was off-putting. The staff was so kind to compensate by removing this item from our bill. The mussels are a good dish shareable for two; we asked for soup spoons to enjoy the broth. My friend typically does not order protein as her main entree (coming from a family who is skilled at grilling meats), though I was able to persuade her to share the pork chop. The staff offered to split this into two separate plates. I enjoyed the fact that were were supporting a local fresh pork farm based out of Mount Jackson, VA known as Baker's Farm. I would agree the price point falls short of the flavors.
