Dr Abdelhak is a high risk pregnancy doctor, and I felt at ease under his care. Dr Ratzerdorfer delivered my first and he's truly gifted at what he does. Complicated delivery with so much ease and confidence, that I trusted the process and his decisions comfortably. Dr Resnikoff delivered my second, and she made the whole experience so smooth. For ten years, I've had difficulty giving blood... using the smallest needle.. and when I began working with Heather -- she switched to normal needle and explained to me how the body works for blood retrieval and voila!! We got blood every time and WITHOUT pain! She is boss! Every doctor in this office is beyond beyond beyond AMAZING in their wisdom, love and thoroughness! There are 4 docs rotating and everyone we are buddies with... Yoni delivered via C section bc our little guy was breach with minimal fluid to rotate and umbilical cord around neck... Dr Yoni held me and breathed with me during the needles for anasisia (sp?) moments before C section surgery, his love and care and gentleness calmed my high blood pressured induced anxiety --- and minutes later delivered our baby boy healthy and strong!!! The recovery for the C section has been EXCELLENT!!!!!! It's 2 weeks and I'm off of pain meds with mobility! Every nurse at the hospital complemented the incision and how great it is!!! We are so grateful for them! Everyone one!!! Everyone is amazing from reception to scheduling to billing -- the best with working with the insurances. The front office is so effective in their ability to get you into the office working with your schedule--- and they are soooooo kind in doing it! If you are seeking a place to go... look no further!!! We absolutely love this office. If I could give this practice 6/5 stars I would. From my first visit, the team at Maternal Resources was nothing short of incredible. Every time I walked through the door they were friendly, knowledgable, accommodating and kind. During every visit, the doctors made me feel heard, and left plenty of time for me to ask any and every question. When a reading came back with a potential complication, the team had already set up a follow up appointment with a specialist before I even walked out the door -- something I have never witnessed a doctor's office do for the patient. Later on, we discovered another complication called cholestasis (ICP) that required me to give birth four weeks early for the safety of the baby. I spent the week prior in the hospital to monitor the baby, and one of the four doctors from Maternal Resources stopped by every single day to check in and let me know if there were any changes to the plan. They were able to safely deliver the baby, and we are happily enjoying our first week home. Thank you MR team! If you are pregnant and based in JC, this is the best practice in the area!! read more

Can't believe I haven't reviewed them already... my daughter is about to turn 1! I LOVE LOVE LOVE every part of this office/ team/ experience. Here are some highlights: - emailed them to see if they took my insurance, they responded super quickly and helped me understand my insurance and what the costs would be. - the women at the front desk were the KINDEST, you'd walk in and they'd know you! and they were quick in responding to emails/ calls anything. but also just genuinely friendly/ nice. - Doctors, I can't pick a favorite - two of them ended up being there on the big day. The office made an effort to make sure I would have an appointment with each, which was great to have the confidence going into the hospital and knowing I knew all of them. - Delivering at Hackensack was also great, get the Penne alla vodka, maybe it was not eating for 16 hours and then pushing a baby out that made it taste like the best meal. Abusive billing practices. Do not go here. I moved from Brooklyn to Jersey City and decided to check this place out to see if it was worth switching from my obgyn in Manhattan to something closer. I went to one appointment - I was in the office about 20 minutes, where they did a very quick ultrasound (totally unnecessary since I already had an obgyn in Manhattan who does ultrasounds every visit) and I spoke with a doctor for about five minutes, who explained how their practice works. I decided it's not for me, and left. I paid a $25 co-pay. I had sent them my insurance card ahead of time and they confirmed I was covered, so I figured that was the end of it. Now I am receiving nonstop medical bills from them asking me to pay $600. This is insane. I called them and whoever I spoke to told me she'd "generously" reduce it to $250 and that she'd send an updated bill. But she never did - I am still receiving endless bills for $600. For spending literally 20 minutes in their office and deciding not to use them. I was completely transparent and told them when confirming the insurance ahead of time, and during the visit, that I was just there to check them out and see if I wanted to switch to them. At no point was I warned that it would cost $600! Meanwhile the obgyn I stayed with in Manhattan has never charged me a penny beyond the first small copay. This is absolutely the last thing I need to be dealing with during the already exhausting and stressful experience of pregnancy. Update: they did at least call me and cancel the bill after I posted this review. read more

Wonderful practice, it's hard to find a group like this these days! Each of the providers provided individualized and attentive care, they listen to what you say and try their best to help you have the birth you desire. When we were in the delivery room the delivery nurse told us we were incredibly lucky because the doctors and midwife at Integrative Obstetrics are amongst the best and will do everything in their power to help you avoid a c-section while taking care of you and your baby, something I really valued. The office staff is amazing, they get to know you and are incredibly helpful with trying to schedule appointments and keep wait times to a minimum. The sonographer(s) are lovely and always excited to be a part of your journey. Working in medicine I have to say I didn't realize that a practice like this still exists, most places feel like factories and you are just pushed along without anyone listening to you. Integrative Obstetrics is a practice where you get to know all the providers, they are warm, friendly, know your name, don't rush you and mostly try to just help you feel safe and cared for as you go through your pregnancy. I had a very normal and healthy pregnancy and received amazing care under each doctor here. I had an ultrasound almost every visit, which I loved. I did have to be induced suddenly at 37 weeks and Dr. Ratzersdorfer delivered my healthy baby girl. Of course, he was the only one of the doctors that I never got a chance to meet, but he was great nonetheless. Jessica, who also works at the front desk, was my doula, and without her, I wouldn't have been able to have a drug-feee birth, as I always wanted. I would recommend to anyone! read more

There is a lot to love about integrative Obstretics - great front desk staff, short wait times, in-house ultrasound and the sonographer is simply amazing!. However, I was disappointed in the end as I had an emergency c-section that led to an early birth. I had been continuously told that I had a healthy pregnancy although retrospectively, the changes in my vital signs & other symptoms should have at least been a cause for concern. The failure to detect the symptoms despite the fact that all the vitals were taken at each visit and the dismissal of my concerns when I brought attention to some of the issues was incredibly disappointing (e.g., massive weight gain from 119 pounds to 168 within 4 months as due to lack of exercise and high carb intake without asking me how often I exercise and how much carbs I regularly eat, thus preventing a thorough examination of other potential underlying issues). I'm grateful everyday that my daughter and I are okay and healthy but I'm still shaking at what would have been if one thing would have gone wrong the day I was rushed to the hospital. I keep wondering if the dismissal of my concerns and the misinterpretation of the symptoms is normal or it was just me. Whatever the case, I left very disappointed. I primarily met with Kristin Mallon and I do not know if the situation would have been different if I had met with others in the practice. read more

I switched to this practice mid-pregnancy from an OBGYN group located within Hackensack hospital, after actually looking on yelp from their waiting room, where I had been sitting for over an hour, while listening to a front desk person yell at a very pregnant woman for being there on the wrong day... Best decision I ever made. I think we get used to a certain level of care at regular gyno appointments, and aren't surprised when it's the same for pregnancy--wait forever, see someone for a rushed 5 minutes, go somewhere for blood work, never understanding what the tests are for, never getting any real guidance. I honestly didn't know there was another way. When I went to Kristin Mallon and Dr. Abdelhak's office, I never waited more than a few minutes before getting my appointment started. All labs and sonograms are done right in the same office, and all the people in the office are actually amazing. Kristin was my main care provider, and I think by my second appointment I decided I wanted her to be my life coach. She is patient, knowledgeable, has a ton of life and midwife experience, and gives you the time and effort you deserve throughout your pregnancy. She looks at your labs and guides you on a healthy pregnancy, through diet, vitamins and exercise. As a midwife, she can support you in whatever your birth goals are. I wanted to have as natural and drug free a birth as possible, and avoid a cesarean if possible. Her care got me through many many hours of labor without an epidural, but when there were complications, she was also able to get me the epidural and pitocin that I needed to help my baby out! And eventually, Dr. Abdelhak stepped in with his expertise, and assisted my delivery so that I could avoid the c-section. What might have been a difficult experience turned out to be positive and wonderful. Great office staff including the front desk, phlebotomists, and sonographer. Loved the midwife. Really loved the sonographer. Very responsive and attentive. I had a very difficult case and pregnancy which ended poorly. I wish the diagnosis was more clear instead of giving me false hope it was something minor. Then after seeing the MFM, he said he had no additional information, that it looked bad, and referred me on. Additionally, the bill already came 3 days after my loss. I think for a typical, smooth pregnancy, I would have loved the care provided here but in a very difficult and very unique situation, I did not feel they were as prepared. read more

It was my 12th week of pregnancy and I was sitting in my OBGYNs office for an appointment, and I was truly disappointed with the typical text book pregnancy process. I searched for Midwifery Practices in my area and I found Kristin through Yelp. I was a bit skeptical, I was not fully educated on how different the two experiences are during pregnancy (OBYGN vs Midwife). It turns out midwifes are WAY better...(If you want an epirdual you can still get one, but it's a way more holistic approach.) I figured a midwife had to be better than the OBGYNs that were forcing old school pregnancy practices. So I switched to Kristin and it was the best thing I did for my pregnancy, I cannot imagine how much more stressful the process would have been without her. Kristin and her staff go above and beyond for every single patient. From scheduling, calls, emergency visits, they make it easy and are very accommodating. It is a nice environment and you can tell Kristin has hand selected everyone that work for her (in the Hoboken office at least, I am not commenting on Hackensack office, I wasn't there much). Kristin dealt with one of the most annoying, demanding, fearful patients ever-me! Even when she was VERY tired from clearly delivering a baby the night before, she answered all of my repetitive annoying questions (first child) and had a good spirit about her. She made the entire process of having a baby perfect-from the day I met her to even 3 months after having the baby, Kristin has been hands on, extremely supportive, and never seems annoyed- even with all of her things going on. During the pregnancy she knew EVERY TRICK to have a smooth pregnancy. Baby was breech-she sent me to the best Chiro to turn baby around-and it worked! She KNOWS what she's doing. Also note, she has 4 kids, she really knows what she's doing and will make you feel COMFORTABLE. The delivery-she was there for a lot of time very hands on and comforting! She was accessible and helped me through. She didn't wait until the end to show up, it was even her daughters birthday and there she was by my side. I didn't follow all of Kristin's medical advice and did land myself in the C-Section delivery room at the end-but we fought and pushed hard for a natural birth-she did every thing she could. MOST of her births are natural-as long as you do what she says-it will most likely not be a c-seciton. I did not follow her advice at times, which is why that happened. But guess who was apart of the delivery, told me it would be ok as I cried of fear-Kristin. Literally the best. I cannot wait to have my next child and work with Kristin again. PS-The doctor she works with is not involved unless its a c-section. Even then he was very skilled at what he did, no personality, but thats ok-he did his job very well (no scar!). Long story short-even if you are half way through your pregnancy and you want to switch please do yourself a favor and call Kristin's office. This is the best you will get in pregnancy. read more

Prior to coming here, we were at a fertility place for close to two years. After amazingly getting pregnant naturally, we had to stop going there. We started to go to an ob/gyn by us who was awful. As a patient with pcos, insulin resistant, high blood pressure, hypothyroidism, I'm clearly high risk. That coupled with this being our first pregnancy, the care we were recieiving was unacceptable. Kristin and Dr Walter are truly above the bar. I switched to them at 19 weeks and I am so lucky and thankful to have found them. I was high risk with gestational diabetes and they held my hand through every step of the last difficult 10 weeks of pregnancy and delivered my healthy beautiful baby girl early with an induction and vaginal delivery at 38.5 weeks. They are available on email and weekends and their staff knows you by first name and are so pleasant to to interact with. There are no wait times and they give you a sonogram every visit. Kristin and her team are amazing! I was searching for a midwife that was part of an ob/gyn practice and came across Mindful Midwifery and it was exactly what I was looking for! This was my 3rd pregnancy and Kristin took great care to understand what my goals were for this pregnancy and delivery and worked with me the whole way. She is also very knowledgable about nutrition and natural supplements and what to take to treat specific issues during pregnancy (like ankle swelling!). The office in Hackensack is very inviting and has its own sonogram machine, which is great because you get to see the baby at every visit! Kristin takes time at each appointment to talk through what's going on, any concerns and questions and talk about nutrition. Kristin has recently opened an office in downtown Hoboken and hours are very convenient! I really cannot speak highly enough about the team - all the way through the pregnancy and delivery I felt very confident that I was being well looked after. My son is six months old today and I cannot help but remember, quite fondly, my birth experience with Kristin Mallon. As I was new to New Jersey when I found out I was pregnant, I did not have an OBGYN and was a bit overwhelmed with the choices. I knew I wanted a birth with the least amount of medical intervention, after all, women have been doing this for thousands of years without any help - right!? Well, I found Kristin through a referral and decided to meet her. First off, I must say that she is one of the most accessible individuals; even before my first appointment, she spent nearly 30 minutes on the phone with me answering questions - how amazing. As a first time mother, there is so much you don't know and don't even know that you don't know...if that makes sense. Each visit at Mindful Midwifery was so pleasant and not rushed in the least. I felt like I got to know the entire staff and they were all a wonderful part of my pregnancy experience. Although I did not want a medicalized birth, Kristin always presented testing options with no pressure. Sonograms were optional at each visit and I always felt that when choices were upon us (my husband and me) we were given pros and cons of both sides and then given time to decide. Now, on to the birth! Although I wanted to go through labor as naturally as possible, my water ruptured a few days before my due date and I didn't go into labor. As my fluid levels got a bit too low, I had to be induced. Regardless of the beginning, I still wanted to carry on without an epidural or further drugs - Kristin and her team were so amazing and kept me focused every step of the way. As a slight caveat, I gave birth on Christmas Day and Kristin was still there, guiding me. I labored from 10PM on December 24th to 4PM on December 25th and pushed for 3.5 hours - I had a completely drug free vaginal birth, aside from the Pitocin. Several doctors and nurses lamented that most care givers would have forced me to have a C-section due to the hours of pushing, but than goodness for Kristin, as she knew I didn't want a C-section above all else. Prior to delivery, many people told me that Hackensack Hospital was known for its high C-section rate - although the statistic may be true (I really don't know as I haven't looked it up), I found that my midwife was in complete control my labor experience and honored my wishes as long as the baby and I were safe. I can not say enough wonderful things about Mindful Midwifery and Kristin Mallon. There is no question who will deliver my next baby - whenever he or she may come read more

At first when I found this office I thought they were great. I had a long road trying to get pregnancy and Kristen was great. Well that quickly changed as I did finally get pregnant. Unfortunately, I ended up with a miscarriage but thats when I learn the office is very different when they aren't getting a lot of money from you. Kristen gave me false hope and then I was told I needed to go to the hospital. Messages were always cross between the doctor and the front desk. I would call and they would say they would call back and never did. I had to follow up with them consistently. My final straw with them is two weeks after my miscarriage when I came for a follow up. First the hospital had told me they saw a cyst on my right ovary. I was sure it was false as the doctor checked multiple times before the hospital, but I asked. Turned they saw the cyst a month ago at one of my scans and didn't tell me. I was pissed. Then I went to meet with Kristen not once did she ask how I was feeling. If I was experiencing pain, which I was. Instead, she focused on me trying to get pregnant again. I didn't get the point of this visit they didn't even have answers of why I miscarriage. Meanwhile, they did test and never discussed. The caring Kristen was a completely different person then the women who made me fall in love with this office. Only leads me to believe after 5 years and no actual birth they are tried of not making real money on me. read more

I went to Mindful Midwifery and Integrative Obstetrics for my annual check up. I met Dr. Briza Walter last month. I have never seem such a beautiful clinic in my life. I wait 10 minutes and Dr. Walter spend 50 minutes checking my body and answering all the questions that I had. She explain to me all kind of birth control methods and I choose the one that is best for me. I went back and she placed in my uterus a Mirena hormone release that I can keep for 5 years. It took 5 minutes from the moment I went to the office and walk out. Two minutes to place it in the uterus. She said done! I said, I was surprised, I did not feel anything. I read so many bad reveals online about this device IUD and I was afraid. I had two drops of blood nothing else, no pain. No pain! Thank you, Dr. Walter, for being so good in what you do. Now, I understand why so many people say beautiful thing about you. I will go back to do a Botox treatment this week on Thursday! read more

This practice (Kristin Mallon and Dr. Yaakov Abdelhak) is absolutely the best that can be had in the world of having babies. I have absolutely nothing negative to say, and if you've had a baby, you know how serious it is when you can see you have no complaints about the experience and medical service provided. We had one miscarriage and this office handled me in the most delicate and appropriate manner. Then when we finally got pregnant again, I came back to work with Kristin Mallon (midwife). She always gave sound advice when I was trying to make choices and never let me feel pressured to use pain meds, which was my greatest worry. When I was late, there was absolutely no pressure to induce. If it hadn't been for my headaches, I could've gone longer, but finally we had to try to start inducement. Which by the way, Kristin has privileges at Hackensack Medical University, which was our first choice hospital. When my efforts at a drug-free birth went south and a caesarean was necessary, Dr. Abdelhak came through for us. He is the best, and if we had another baby (which is not the plan!), I would do whatever it takes to make sure this team takes care of me again. If you are on the fence, well let me make the decision for you. Go with this practice and this team. You will not regret it. They are the best. Maybe the only unfortunate thing is this practice is out of network for everyone. But they will work with you and what insurance you do have. I'm going through open enrollment right now at work and at the same time looking for a new gynecologist and came across this practice which was highly reviewed. I learned the practice was out of my plan's network add I was in touch with Jessica who walked me through what things would look like financially for me if I moved to their practice. (All which felt very feasible.) She was extremely sweet and knowledgeable and worked to provide answers to every one of my questions. From this alone, you can just tell the difference in treatment in care you'll receive by that alone! I hope to be able to make it work if not now, than at least once I am pregnant. I had the amazing honor of having Kristin Mallon assist me during the birth of my baby girl. I couldn't have asked for more. Kristin was available to me throughout my  pregnancy, building a report, bond, and connection. She is compassionate, kind, knowledgeable and ideal for anyone seeking emotional and medical support during your pregnancy.  I was in labor for 20+ hours and Kristin never left my side. I was a very nervous and scared patient but Kristins positive energy would ease all my fears. Always so attentive and helpful, Something I'm forever grateful and won't ever forget. It's kept in a special place in my heart. Labor is not an easy or pretty thing, we know that! But we tend to forget. So when looking for the right person to deliver you baby, seak someone that will be supportive and kind to your needs. Strong, good support, that's  what will get you through the rough edges of delivery.  Kristins voice would calm and help me keep focus.  She massaged my back, reminded me to keep my shoulders down at times of difficult contractions, and helped the hair off my face. Kristin even said a prayer at the time I no longer had the strength to do so....It brings joyful tears to my eyes when I think of this. I will never forget! We all want a perfect birth. Some of us look forward to that moment at delivery, where you caught your own baby. I was absolutely astonished by the quality of care we received from Kristin at Mindful Midwifery. She was patient with ALL of my first time pregnancy questions (she even went through my 8 pages of sample birth plans line by line with my husband and me and never once made us feel like we were a bother/tried to rush us!) Not only is Kristin one of the most wonderful people I've ever met, but she's extraordinarily knowledgeable in all sorts of alternative medicines as well as at the forefront of cutting edge new traditional medicines and technology. My cousin in TX was going through pregnancy at the same time I was and I was shocked to discover how far behind her (traditional) doctor/hospital was to mine! We knew the sex of our baby and had non invasive genetic testing and sonograms done MONTHS before she did. Choosing Mindful Midwifery was the best decision! Kristin, Dr. Walter and the whole staff are amazing. Each appointment I had time to ask questions, discuss the pregnancy, and never felt that they were rushed. They really take quality time so you feel that this is your birth experience you want and help you feel in control the whole time. Kristin and Dr. Walter made the recommendation for my induction and because of this I was able to have the vaginal delivery we wanted, they know what they are doing! At the end of labor when it came time to push Kristin kept the room calm and soothing, for part of the labor I used a doula so the room had a spa-like feel with battery candles, aromatherapy, and spa music. I needed the help of the vacuum, but Kristin explained everything calmly. Dr. Abdelhak came in to finish the delivery, Kristin stayed right there holding my hand and keeping me focused on pushing. I never thought I could push out a baby, but with their help it was all possible. You will be so happy if you choose this practice for your pregnancy! I can't sing enough praise for Integrative! Everyone from the doctors to the front desk staff are top notch. My entire experience with Integrative was smooth and pleasant and I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who is in the market for a stellar OB practice. If you need more concrete evidence as to why Integrative is the best, let me explain two instances that sealed the deal for me. Firstly: at around 33 weeks I felt like my baby wasn't moving as much. Being a first-time mom, I called the practice panicked and teary-eyed. They promptly took me in and calmed me. Upon my arrival, they were waiting for me and ushered me into the back in a calm and collected manner. From there, they hooked me up to the machines and monitored the baby. Thankfully, everything was fine - but they way that everyone acted was so reassuring that I had found the best practice. Everyone was SO professional and caring. Not once did I feel like a crazy person for coming in so anxious only to find out the baby was totally fine and was just in a weird position. (Who knew!) Second reason why they are the best: the delivery of my LO was incredibly smooth. I had the pleasure of seeing every doctor in the 48 hours of my delivery and it was so nice to feel so important and cared for by the doctors. Dr. Mallon was my midwife throughout the process and she was always incredibly knowledgable, kind, thorough and reassuring. Her bedside manner is second to none and she ALWAYS made me feel confident in their practice. Dr. Abdelhak delivered my baby girl and was equally as professional and calming. We ended up needing the vacuum to get her out and he didn't flinch once! He was extremely calming and to the point; and he acted quickly and always kept me in the loop throughout my delivery. Raizy was also there during my delivery as a doula and she was a GODSEND! She managed to make me smile between pushing and made my delivery so pleasant. I could not have asked for a better experience. Being a first time mom, I had a lot of questions. I wanted to look for a Doctor or midwife that I felt comfortable with and shared similar views. At our first visit we were welcomed with such genuine kindness. Kristin met with my husband and I and explained what each visit throughout the pregnancy would entail and what I could expect from that point forward. I left the office with detailed handouts on what she reviewed along with suggested diet and pregnancy workouts. I was totally impressed considering how impersonal other ob/gyn offices can be. Immediately my husband and I decided a midwife was the way to go. Throughout the pregnancy Kristin was extremely informative and catering to all of my needs and concerns. She even got to email me a few times between appointments to check up on how I was doing. During my labor she was available the entire time! My husband and I recently delivered our first baby with Kristin in January. I was under her care from the first few weeks of my pregnancy and couldn't be happier with the entire process: throughout the pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum. My visits to her office were always very thorough, but to the point. My husband and I never felt rushed. Kristin answered all of our questions and provided important information for us at each stage of our pregnancy. In addition to her strong medical background, she also has a wide range of knowledge in alternative medicine and natural treatments. During the actual delivery, Kristin was present for the entire labor from the moment we arrived at Hackensack Hospital. We were very pleased with the hospital- everyone was so supportive and professional, the rooms were spacious and clean, and we had plenty of privacy. Kristin suggested different positions to support me through contractions until I was ready to push. When I ran into some complications, Kristin was able to support me in ways I can't imagine an OBGYN would have. Through various positions and strategies, I was able to have a natural delivery. I am thankful that her knowledge and expertise prevented me from having a C-Section. Her care since the birth of our baby has been just as great! She spent time with us at the hospital to go over everything in what to expect. I have reached out with questions since then and she has been so quick to respond. My postnatal visit in her Hoboken office was also very helpful. I am thankful to have found Kristin through my research and will without a question use her for my future pregnancy!
