Unfortunately was not notified beforehand a simple consultation visit for birth control would be charged 400$.. ive been to plenty of other obGYN before her and never had this happen to me, or would have full insurance coverage. I didn't get much out of the appointment except to stay on the same birth control pill i was already being prescribed by a different obGYN.. and didn't receive much feedback from her except she couldn't tell me anything confidently. just beware of this before going to her clinic. read more

Honestly I am beyond pissed off at this moment. I came Dr Wong first time for an annual on July 1st after reading all the good reviews. I was fed up with my previous obgyn who I was seeing for over 10 years. I asked to do a pap when I made the appointment. They did a urine test when I checked in which was fine. Then the doc had me lay down to do a swab which I thought that's the pap, but today when I called the office to request the report. They told me it was a swab for other issues. WTF?! If you aren't gonna do my pap don't make me go through that process of doing a pap to do some stupid swab cuz any women knows that wasn't an enjoyable process. There was also some personal reasons I needed my pap as I explained to her. Guess that's my first and last appointment with dr Wong. So much with good yelp review. Color me impressed. I do have a regular gynecologist at Juno Medical in Harlem, but I was referred to Lily Wong after going to the CityMD on 50th & 2nd for an urgent women's health matter that they couldn't address, despite advertising gynecologic services at that site. (That...that is another story and perhaps another Yelp review. Ha!) I won't go into full details on my condition, but I am immunocompromised and have been since 2008. When I went to the CityMD to address my condition, I showed the physician my issue, but also noted to him that I was experiencing issues that manifest in me when I have a systemic infection: I was feeling lightheaded, had waves of nausea and little appetite, and felt general malaise. After 13 years, I've learned symptoms of my infections pretty well! I occasionally, but not always, run a fever as well. They ran vitals on me and did not draw blood, only did a urine test. My doctor concluded that since my uranalysis was normal, I didn't have a fever, and that I was lightheaded but not fully dizzy, that I was "fine", but would refer me to Dr. Wong for follow-up. I kept advocating for myself because I didn't want to end up in an emergency room if I really had an infection, but all they said is that they'd refer me. I felt my concerns fell on deaf ears. *sigh* When I arrived at Dr. Wong's office a few days later - by that time, I was feeling much better symptoms-wise, but was still dealing with my women's health issue overall which I thought was the source of my potential infection - I was grateful. The office was bright & clean, COVID-protection measures were in place, and all staff - both front desk and clinical - were too kind. What impressed me most was that Dr. Wong took care to read the notes I sent in prior to my visit. As someone that is asplenic - i.e. I have no spleen - she was asking me questions about my blood work, how my platelet levels were, and if I took any additional medications regarding my asplenia. I really took to heart that she asked me these questions, as my asplenia is usually just a passive note that is *not* followed up on by other doctors outside of my PCP. I'm really glad she asked me those questions out of genuine concern. She took my concerns about infection seriously as well & checked the issue; if I had an infection, it likely resolved by the time I made it to her office, but she gave me a thorough examination, gave me a few in-office and at-home options to treat it, and I felt both physical and mental relief after seeing her. Just to be taken seriously after my less - than - stellar CityMD experience took a weight off of my chest. Sure enough, I followed her at-home instructions for treating my issue, and it resolved within days. Thanks to Dr. Wong and her staff! Even if this is my only experience with her, I would highly recommend her to those looking for a regular gynecologist! read more

First time I came to this office, my experience was great! Short wait time. Friendly staffs. Dr. Wong, she's a darling! Very good doctor. She's very thorough in explaining the result of my sonogram. Suggested different ways to cope up with pre-menopausal symptoms. She's easy to talk to. She's very caring. It's very rare now a days to find a doctor who has compassion to patients. Struggling to find a gynecologist who is patient, understanding, non-judgmental, and friendly? Look no more. I'm so glad I took a chance on Dr. Wong and her office! Before, each visit would leave me feeling uneasy and judged. I would wait hours, first in the lobby then in the exam room to be seen only for 5 minutes. The office does a good job of pacing visits so I don't feel rushed or am waiting a long time. I have been seen here 3 times already this year (changing birth control methods) and was just in yesterday for a IUD insertion. I was incredibly anxious but both the assistant and Dr. Wong put me at ease. Dr. Wong explains everything she does, why she's doing it, and what the results are. The office is clean and minimal with a few naturey focal points. The front desk is welcoming and friendly. I can't speak highly of them enough! They work hard and even towards the end of the work day, they are still friendly and patient. I usually book my appts after 4 pm due to work schedule and traveling time. Dr. Wong is the best doctor I've seen in the city! I was told by my last obgyn that everything they were doing for my annual was covered by insurance and then got charged $300. Dr. Wong assured me that everything for my annual exam was precleared by insurance and if there were any issues at all her office would clear it up. I wasn't billed anything additional by my insurance. The way my old doctor wrote my prescriptions, I had to go to the pharmacy every month to pick up birth control pills. Dr. Wong was able to work with my insurance and let me know I can get 3 months worth shipped to my house, which has been a huge timesaver! Would definitely recommend! read more

Lily Wong is the best around!!! She's got this whole pap smear thing down to a science. I'm a problem child... everything hurts, my cervix is tilted and I have a very narrow vaginal canal. Holy moly. I just got out of my first ever GYN appointment, ever. I was SO nervous and hoped i made the right choice when choosing Dr Lily. I followed yelp reviews and it is as good as these ladies say!!!!!! The office is clean, the staff and nurses are super sweet and Dr Lily is AMAZING. She explained everything very thoroughly, answered all of my questions and did not rush out of my appointment. It's not the most pleasant exam but Dr lily made it as seamless as she could, i know if i were to have gone somewhere different my experience would not have been the same. I'm so glad I found Dr. Wong. Everything from her professionalism at time of appointment to her front desk staff are simply amazing. The wait time for me was was less than 5 minutes. Dr. Wong has great bed side manners and she made me feel completely at ease which is important considering what we're about to do. Because of an insurance change, I had to find a new gynecologist after 15 years. Lily Wong's office was professional and pleasant from start to finish. All of my insurance questions were answered (multiple times, because I wanted to confirm and confirm again!) patiently and completely. Once my appointment date arrived, I was seen within 15 minutes of my scheduled time. I had filled out the information package in advance and it was clear that Dr. Wong had read it. She took time with me before the exam and asked questions about my life, not just my health. The exam included an explanation of what was happening that was a nice addition to the quick and silent exams of my past. WOW. I will say that I think Dr. Wong is wonderful, but what good is a doctor that you can NEVER get a hold of?? I switched to Dr. Wong a few months ago based on her positive Yelp reviews. And while she's a great person and very nice - I have recently switched doctors again as her office and staff situation is completely unacceptable. Especially if you're pregnant and need an OB. Here are some things you may want to consider before checking out Dr. Wong: - The front office staff is VERY rude and inattentive. On my first visit I stood at the check-in window for almost five minutes and had to wait for the staff to finish a story about their boyfriend's birthday before they even GREETED me, let alone telling me what I needed to do/fill out. I learned this was completely normal for them. Also appointments NEVER start on time. - No one EVER picks up the phone here. Making appointments was the hardest thing ever. They tell you to use Zocdoc and then tell you that the appointments online are not accurate. I was never on hold for less than 11 minutes when I called and waited for someone to answer. Most times I never got through. - Because no one ever picks up the phone when I had a dental emergency my dentist was never able to get a hold of the doctor so I could be cleared for an emergency procedure. On my next visit I asked for an email, direct line, or physician line for emergencies and was told they don't offer that. - On the same visit I asked Dr. Wong to call my dentist ASAP (I'm pregnant so he needs her clearance for x-rays, etc.) and she told me I would have to fill out a medical release form for a PHONE CALL and leave it at the front desk. I did as she asked and a week later she still had not called my dentist. - When I finally switched doctor's again I was told to fax a records release to the office along with my new Dr. info and date I need the records by. I did and again, a week later nothing had been done. I had to go sit in the office for an hour before they said "oh sorry - we're supposed to fax your medical records to your DENTIST, right?" After nearly losing it they just handed me my entire file. I'm SO happy to have a Dr. who I can actually get a hold of now. Unless Dr. Wong switches offices, I would never recommend her to anyone.
