Worst of the worst. She should maybe be directed to these reviews before she really hurts someone. For people with bad experiences too it may be worthwhile to consider reporting to the medical board if anything happens that is unexpected or untoward. This doctor doesn't pay an ounce of attention to what she is doing, rushes through everything, hardly listens to us. That's not safe and bad doctoring needs to be called out and reported. read more

I went through a nightmare today with doctor Roca. I had a cyst to be cut open, she did it right at the appointment. She seemed rush, she cut my skin open when the anesthetic didn't kick in, I warned her that I could still feel the pain, she ignored me and cut it regardlessly. The whole procedure was really quick, took about 2 minutes, my body was shaking for the severe pain. I was treated like an animal. She quickly left after saying very few words after . My questions was not all answered and she didn't explain much about what's after.. it seems that she was quite cold and lack of compassion. I found her online thought she was good. The procedure was really fast, but I was totally terrified. Update: only 2 days after the procedure, I experienced the recurring of the cyst. Not recommended. read more

Very stern and honestly sort of rude. I told her that i had an abnormal pap smear before and she asked which specific cell type and i didn't know. She was condescending and seemed annoyed at me for not knowing this extremely specific detail. There are ways to ask for my previous test results without acting like i'm an idiot. If you're coming here for a sensitive topic or are a sensitive person, do not come to her. The only reason I went to her is because she had the first available appointment (less than 24 hours in advance). That being said, she's very intelligent and knows what she's talking about which is why i gave her 2 stars instead of 1. She just had terrible bed side manner. read more

I had one of the strangest medical experiences of my life with Dr. Rosca. Her offices do feel a bit like a free clinic. They are clean enough, but not organized all all and pretty worn. I don't like a doctor's office to look like a spa, but also don't feel comfortable when there are boxes and files lying around. Dr. Rosca herself is clearly rushed. She's nice enough, but doesn't really take time to answer questions or take a full medical history. The physical exam is less than 5 minutes from start to finish. I don't mind that so much, but was shocked she didn't spend time trying to address my concerns. Her staff interrupted my appointment to come into my exam room and get a piece of equipment for another doctor. I thought that was unprofessional. She is also clearly not comfortable discussing any non-hetero dating scenarios and was really, really awkward. I would avoid going to her again. She never called with test results. Dr. Rosca is great! No, she is not the friendliest, outgoing or cheeriest doctor but she knows her stuff! I was referred to another OB GYN in her group but she was on vacation so I went with Dr. Rosca- I am so happy that I did. I have just completed my first tri-mester; she answered and returned all of my phone calls and was very hospitable with any concerns I had so far in my pregnancy. I'm surprised to read some of the comments here. This woman is efficient! I don't care to have a heart to heart with my doctor (esp. my obgyn) I just need to check in, get the tests, and check out! And Dr. Rosca does just that. I arrived at her office, within 10 minutes I saw a nurse, she finished the exam in 15 and I was out! The test results took a week and her office called me quickly to give me the results. I was even able to ask her questions within the 15 min. and she gave me great advice. She is a bit on the quiter side but she knows what she's doing. I plan on keeping her as my obgyn for sure. read more

I had a lot of trouble finding a good obgyn on here and just ended up using someone random. I ended up with Dr. Rosca. She was wonderful. Very quick and efficient, but I still felt comfortable that I could ask her questions. The reason I gave 4/5 stars is because her assistant wasn't the nicest. But overall great experience. Really awful experience with Dr Rosca as my OBGYN for my first pregnancy. She gave me a hard time about my weight gain throughout my pregnancy (even though it was totally normal and I looked/felt great). She overall had a very cold bedside manner. Although she did not deliver me, I ended up with pospartum bleeding complications following my C section, which she did little to address or treat. I ended up changing practices and never heard from her again to follow up on my complications (which I ended up needing surgery to resolve). I am only now even able to leave a review about this experience as it was so traumatizing. I would recommend anyone against going to this Dr. read more

Saw Dr. Rosca twice at Weill Cornell. She was extremely rushed both times. Didn't take the time to listen to my symptoms, cut me off when I was describing my concerns, answered "I don't know" to the cause of the symptoms without asking for further information or giving further explanations. Overall terrible experience. The reason I saw her twice is because the first time she couldn't diagnose what caused my symptoms and my symptoms came back. If she's expecting to dismiss me and let my symptoms keep coming back so I can keep paying her again and again, she's not going to get what she wants. As a young adult it was my first time going to an OBGYN, Dr.Rosca made me feel extremely uncomfortable and the appointment was very rushed. As much as I would have liked to discuss more methods with her, she seemed to brush over it, as well as completely ignore my concerns. She also got very stern with me when I did not know a very specific detail about past medical history that had no relevance to my appointment. She started lecturing me about how different medical practices are not interconnected, as if I didn't already know that. She also made me feel shameful for the reason that I was there, and was not comforting or helpful in any way. Her assistant was kind enough but again seemed to have a cold bedside manner. Dr. Rosca is great! She is no nonsense and efficient. I was in and out of my visits in less than 10 minutes, which is totally fine with me, because who really wants to hang out at a hospital or doctor office anyway? She made recommendations as needed, reassured me when I had worries as a first time pregnant lady, and always made me feel comfortable during my visits. I have been a patient of Dr. Rosca's since 2011. She delivered two of my three kids. She would have delivered all three, if hurricane Sandy had not interfered. She is the type of doctor who goes out of her way for her patients. With my first child I was worried about everything! She gave me her cell number. She told me to call with questions and concerns, you know in a first pregnancy you have so so many questions and she was always available to give me words of comfort or set up exams to address my concerns. My second child she took the time to get to know my husband and family. Every visit she would ask my husband about basketball games, because she remembered me telling her that he was a Nets' season ticket holder. She encouraged, motivated me, and showed care and concern throughout the pregnancy. My third child she texted me on a Saturday to let me know the sex of the baby!!!!!!! (She knew I wanted a girl!) She also went out of her way to make sure my delivery was comfortable. I requested that she deliver the baby, and even though my precious darling was taking her precious time to enter the world Dr. Rosca stayed to fulfill my delivery request, even though it was hours after her shift ended. She is personable, professional, and knowledgeable, all in one! You couldn't ask for more in a doctor. read more

Dr Rosca is great. She's not the most outwardly friendly doc in the world (as others have stated), but when I do have questions, she always answers patiently. I don't feel rushed when asking questions, even if I have to be forward to start the process. She is non-judgmental and efficient. Her staff is great (ie, her nurse), even if the new front desk staff aren't always totally on top of what they're doing. She's really convenient since I work across the street from her office, but I think I might keep her as my doctor, even if I switch jobs. read more

Dr. Rosca is very knowledgeable and has a great but understated sense of humor. I first encountered her briefly while visiting my ob/gyn for my first baby -- Dr. Rosca had just returned from maternity leave and said that after having twins, coming back to work was a vacation! She knows her stuff, both professionally and personally. My first ob retired from practicing obstetrics, so I switched to Dr. Rosca for baby #3. I have heard many stories about NYC ob's-- it's *hard* to get a great doctor and a good hospital! Dr. Rosca is great. I'm very happy that I found someone I can trust who won't be sending me and my family away with an urban hospital horror story like so many other women who have had a baby in the city. It is hard to hear the staff on the phone. Hopefully hospital administration can update their archaic phone and labyrinthine billing systems VERY soon -- but in person, the doctors and staff are cheerful, efficient, and friendly. read more

I can agree with the above comments about her knowing her stuff and not being the friendliest. However, I think it is near IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of her; all of these transfers to operators and assistants and leaving messages and she never seems to respond/call back. It is real frustrating when you have to refill a prescription and can't get a hold of the doctor! I'm sorry, being able to attend to your patients is imperative and I don't think she does it well. Dr Anca Rosca has been my doctor for over five years and she delivered both of my daughters. I think she is absolutely excellent. Very dependable, really knows her stuff, and she makes sure that she is present at the delivery. I think she has rights only at the New York Downtown Hospital, so that will be the place that you will deliver. Last summer she moved to a new office, one block from the New York Downtown Hospital. She continues to share the practice with three other doctors, so you are sure to always get someone in case she is on vacation. The new office is much nicer and the staff seems to be better organized than in the old office which was in the hospital building. Her nurse is super nice. The New York Downtown Hospital is a teaching hospital, so you may be asked if you are OK with residents or students observing the delivery. New York Downtown Hospital maternity may not be as fancy as the Lenox Hill or NYU Hospital, but it's still nicer than most hospitals in the city and it has convenient location. The delivery rooms are large and were renovated in the past few years. Some of them have great views of the Brooklyn Bridge. The postpartum rooms are small doubles, but for additional fee you can upgrade to a single postpartum room. If you are looking for a doctor with great experience in the downtown area, I strongly recommend Dr. Rosca. read more

I used her as the OB for my baby. She's prompt. She orders lots of tests. She's pleasant. But I wouldn't exactly call her nice either. She lets you know what her opinion is on everything, so if you are liberal you have to be able to tolerate her social conservatism. The first time I met her she told me she thought it was a good idea to get married before having a baby. I was already pregnant. And unmarried. But with a good job, over 35, and in a serious relationship. I was generally pleased with my care, but I have one main complaint. She compared me to her several times over the course of my pregnancy. Each time she's the one who is painted in a better light. I guess this is fine, but it can be hard to swallow when you are pregnant and just trying your best. I ended up with Dr. Rosca for our son's birth as she was on call that weekend and my OB/GYN was away. Dr. Rosca was exceptional right from the start. When I called the hospital to describe my symptoms, she returned my call in less than 5 minutes. She listened patiently and considered all aspects before making a diagnosis/ recommendation. At the hospital, she was able to gain our trust very quickly despite it being our first in-person meeting with her. She clearly knew her stuff, inspired confidence and was in control of the situation throughout the delivery. She was not judgmental and was not trying to push things on me. Her bedside manners were great as well - she was patient with my questions and definitely seemed to care. She had a sense of humor and managed to keep the atmosphere appropriately light during what was (at least to me) a tense period. Doctor Rosca is the best ob-gyn doctor I have ever met. I had two children born under her care. She is very knowledgeable and always answered my questions. My first delivery was complicated and she did an amazing job. She is good at what she does and fallows all the right procedures that she is supposed to do. Her education credentials are amazing. As some of the other reviewers have mentioned, Dr. Rosca is not the most bubbly character. However, she is extremely knowledgeable, patient and caring. She delivered my baby last year and I felt that I was always in good hands with her. During each appointment, she took the time to answer any and all of my many questions. The delivery was great as well. My husband and I still look back on the delivery with such happiness, because the mood in the room was so pleasant and upbeat when I was in labor. After I delivered, she checked up on me regularly to give me a few words of encouragement during such an exhausting time. Absolutely terrible. There was a cup of someone else's urine sitting open in the bathroom when I went to give my sample, the paper had clearly not been changed since the last person's visit and when I called the office about a prescription I needed, I left three messages and never once heard back and have now been without my needed prescription for a month now. There are FAR better Doctors and doctor offices in New York city and I highly recommend you seek them out as this place is disgusting and unprofessional.
