I felt heard by all the staff when I had to voice a couple of concerns and they asked a lot of follow up questions to make sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Pure OBGYN's billing department was incredibly frustrating. I went in for a pelvic pain/endometriosis visit and during the appointment was told I was overdue for my annual exam, so preventive services were completed at the same time. What was never proactively communicated was that this would result in multiple separately billed visits and hundreds of dollars in unexpected patient responsibility. After seeing the high-level claims in my insurance portal, I requested an itemized statement and billing/coding information from Lizaveta, the billing coordinator, so I could understand the charges submitted to my insurance. Instead, this turned into an exhausting back-and-forth where the requested information was repeatedly not provided. My issue is the lack of transparency, lack of proactive communication regarding billing implications, and how unnecessarily difficult it was to obtain basic billing documentation. As someone with endometriosis who unfortunately has extensive experience navigating healthcare billing and insurance, this was a simple request made unnecessarily difficult. While I have liked the doctors I've seen at Pure OBGYN, my interactions with the billing department have unfortunately left me with a very negative impression of the practice overall. Because of this experience, I would actively advise any friends, family, or other patients reading this from being seen at this practice. read more

I was misdiagnosed as not being pregnant, when I was indeed pregnant. They even took my bloods and still told me I was not pregnant - when I looked at these blood results 4 months later it was indeed an early sign of a pregnancy. I even confirmed with a different practice/doctor who said my bloodwork shows signs of an early pregnancy. I was also told my period would be off since this likely was a chemical pregnancy. I can't begin to explain how much emotional distress this has caused. I went on after that diagnosis with my normal life, which included harmful activities like consuming alcohol and getting an x-ray on my breasts. When I went back once I got a positive pregnancy test 4 months later, they gaslighted me saying conception could have happened after I visited their office. For reference, I came in early September and my due date is now May 10th, resulting in a conception around August 11th. They should have diagnosed me as having a potential pregnancy to be safe. Instead they just said no, not pregnant and that was it. read more

1 star -- would give 0 if I could. I had a horrible experience at Pure OBGYN and would never recommend this practice, especially to anyone who is pregnant. I arrived for my NT scan and was told I could not be seen unless I paid a $1,000 bill that I had never been shown before. When I tried to use my HSA card, I was told they would "prefer" a credit or debit card, and I had to go back and forth for about 20 minutes before they finally said they would "make an exception" -- for an HSA, which is literally meant for medical expenses. The front desk then instructed me to give a urine sample before my appointment, despite the fact that this was an appointment requiring a full bladder. Because of their mistake, they initially told me I'd have to come back another day. After I pushed back, they agreed to see me but made me sit in the waiting room for 30 minutes drinking water to refill my bladder. After nearly three hours in the office at this point, the sonogram tech spent about an hour on the scan, only to discover my doctor had given me the wrong due date, and the baby was too big to capture the images needed. So the entire visit was essentially a waste of time and money. No one apologized. No one took ownership. No one tried to make it right. The overall experience was disorganized, dismissive, and stressful -- the exact opposite of what prenatal care should be. I transferred to a hospital system after this, and the difference has been night and day. I would not trust this practice with my care ever again. read more

Left previous patients information (birthday, name, address, REASON FOR VISIT) up on screen after leaving the room. Cant imagine how careless they've been with my records. Unfortunately, I've been coming here for 2/3 years now. The office is pretty, and has always been clean and very aesthetically pleasing, however I genuinely don't think that in all the years I've been a patient, my has doctor smiled at me once. No exaggeration. But that's fine, you don't need to be pleasant to be a good doctor, and we're all entitled to bad days. But the real issue is (aside from the clear HIPAA violation) my doctor did not listen to me. Every visit (over the course of a year and change), she prescribed the same medicine for the same symptoms, all the while I'm telling her something isn't right - wondering why the same treatment was being prescribed for an issue it clearly wasn't working for. Come to find out, just like I thought, it's a bigger issue. And when they called a week and a half later to deliver the news, the receptionist couldn't even explain what she was telling me. Just dropped a bomb and didn't know anything further. Told me to schedule a call with the doctor (mind you, i'm on the phone with the doctor's office...). The straw that broke the camels back (again, aside from the clear HIPAA issue) was the nurse leaving me to change but coming back .2 seconds later, knocking asking to come in, me telling her I was still undressed, her opening the door anyway because she "just had to give me something before i got dressed", even though I very clearly expressed that I was still undressed and did not want her to enter the room, and she did hear me, just didn't care. Felt very exposed and weird as i'm completely undressed and this woman is fully clothed standing in front of me giving me the run down of what she's handing me with the damn door cracked, for a WHILE. this was not a quick hand off. It was truly just so disrespectful and weird. this was my final visit. There's also constant a student / first timer doing something my doctor should be. I get you need to train people, but when it's every visit it's uncomfortable to have someone that doesn't know what they're doing yet handling sensitive parts & information. All this to say - Now i'm at a new gyno. She actually listened to me. Took my complaints seriously and checked me out immediately -- first visit. Again, as i suspected, another bigger issue. She also shows me basic respect and knows what "don't come in i'm not dressed" means, so that's great too. I'm so glad that I left this place, but also so frustrated at the fact that I wasted so much time here when i could've been getting actual quality medical care and not feeling like something was off after every appointment. save your time and go elsewhere. they also advertise botox & cosmetic procedures in the lobby, which feels entirely wrong for a gynecology office. but that's just my opinion. read more

Love this place. Going to the GYN is not the most comfortable experience but everyone is kind and welcoming. I went for an emergency check up and was kind of freaking out / thinking of the worst during the sonogram. Janutul (the sonogram tech) noticed and just talked to me throughout to help keep my mind off things. She was so comforting and reassuring. Dr. Branch is also phenomenal. I appreciated her honest assessment of the situation, how she presented the options, and developed a plan. I highly recommend this practice. read more

Mary Earnhardt is the worst doctor I've ever seen - judgemental, rude, condescending, argumentative and aggressive. I can't emphasize it enough, this woman will not display any understanding, empathy or support during your visit so if this is a sensitive time for you, go elsewhere ladies. When I told her how I was feeling she challenged me, saying that in her experience there's no way my body could feel the way I described. I've never been challenged by my doctor on how my body is feeling and I didn't know how to respond. I immediately had a severe panic attack; barely able to respond to her interrogating me with questions and statements about how I'm feeling, immediately felt like I was about to pass out and began sweating profusely - I had to lay down immediately. All the while, instead of noticing Im experiencing a severe physical response to how she was speaking to me, she continued to badger me with questions while I shut my eyes and laid back to keep from passing out. How can I prove that I'm feeling the way I'm describing? Why would I need to prove to my doctor that I'm not feeling great? I was not seeking pain medication or any medicine/treatment at all, this was just a follow up. I truly felt cornered, extremely uncomfortable and didn't know how to defend my body in this clinical setting - that was a first. Despite this doctor being an absolute sociopathic nightmare, the office itself is very dirty. They don't even have tissues in their clinic so after an exam they give you towels that feel like construction paper to clean yourself off. During one of my follow up visits leading up to the event described above, I thought I was meeting with Mary but ended up receiving an internal exam by someone in training who stuck the device in the wrong hole, which was a shock to me of course and was also very uncomfortable. I was committed to seeing through my series of meetings with Pure because it was time sensitive and they were rhetorical first available - but I had already made up my mind that I wouldn't be using them as my primary gyno just because of how dirty the office and the lack of simple things you expect at a gyno like tissues that won't cut you when wiping post exam. But THEN I had the experience with Mary outlined above as my last appointment and felt prompted to share how terrible and traumatizing that experience was to hopefully spare another girlie out there who needs to be handled with care and support during a challenging time. It's been a year since I've given birth, and I finally feel ready to express my disappointment with Dr. Karsalia at Pure OBGYN. For the most part, I had a good experience during my prenatal appointments with the OB-GYNs at Pure. Overall, I felt that the doctors were attentive and answered my questions thoroughly. Unfortunately, my experience took a severely negative turn with Dr. Karsalia the day I gave birth to my first child. She was texting while I was pushing, and my Doula had to ask her to wash her hands multiple times before checking my cervix and continuing with the delivery. I ended up having a complicated delivery, and my son was in the Nicu for a week. Dr. Karsalia was negligent, and I hope she learns from that experience and gives better care in the future. I am still processing my experience and likely will for a while. read more
