Forces Surgery and Unnecessary Meds--Stay Away! I visited Dr. Hardart in August 2020 when I suspected I needed surgery to remove my fibroids. Without even looking at MRIs she told me I'd needed surgery. This was immediately a red flag, because why was she discussing surgery in my first appointment especially because all she had was a report from my ultrasound--not even the images! She insisted to do a vaginal exam on me, so I agreed. I told her in my appointment that I usually only bleed for about 10-14 days, but it's extremely light after 7 days. She prescribed me a medication that is for people who bleed heavily, I never picked up the prescription. I bled from my vagina heavily for 18 days after this exam--this has NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. I did go to the ER and when I told the ER gynecologist what happened and the prescription Dr. Hardart prescribed, even the gynecologist thought Dr. Hardart sounded shady. I don't know what Dr. Hardart did during my exam to make me bleed that much and for so long, but I never went back to her. read more

This is for the administrative staff as their incompetence prevented me from seeing this doctor today. I made an appointment 1 month ago and received confirmation through Zocdoc. Then yesterday I get 4 calls (no exaggeration) from office staff confirming my appointment, all unaware that each other had already done so. Today (1 hour before my appt) I get a call from another person stating they take my insurance, but it's now invalid since it switched to Cobra. Do they not know what Cobra is?? I reminded them it's a continuation of the same services/benefits and other drs I've seen had no issues.They insisted I do self-pay so I was forced to cancel my appointment. Complete ignorance! I came to dr Hardart on 9/2021 with many years of issue with rectocele , she placed a pessary to relieve pelvic pressure until I decide for surgery, no other doctor had mentioned or given me this option, they emphasized surgery as the only choice, only dr Hadart did, she was very caring and answered all my questions. Careful and gentle during exam. The pessary have relieved the awful back pain I had for so long. For this reason I highly recommend her. read more

I got the wrong information about this Dr from her office and from the internet. I suffer from adhesions from endometriosis and previous surgeries for that condition and was told by the office and my internet search she performs this procedure and is expert in that area. When I finally met her it seemed her focus was on urinary incontinence. That is not my problem. She recommend a type of PT which she failed to explain to me and, in reality, was not suitable at all for my problem. She refused to consider exploratory laparoscopy. I have been suffering for 12 months now and had every test under the sun. If your problem is pelvic and abdominal adhesions which require laparoscopic correction, do not waste your time visiting this Dr like I did. She was not "as advertised". This is written with a different name for privacy reasons.This was truly one of worst medical experiences I have had. When I finally got an appointment to see Dr. Hardart, I had been having urological issues for nearly a month and a half. I was an otherwise healthy 23 year old with no previous medical history, so my sudden overactive bladder issues were very stressful and concerning to me, especially given the nature of my job. I had originally been seen by a doctor at Cornell, but he specializes in men's health and just kept putting me on antibiotics when it was clear I didn't have a UTI. It is very difficult to find a doctor that focuses on urological issues for women, even in NYC, so I was really hopeful that Dr. Hardart would be able to help me. After waiting for over an hour, I was finally seen. She chalked the whole thing up to anxiety and said I should consider seeking mental health counseling and going on anxiety medication. Even given that I am young, this dismissal was especially dissapointing given that she is a female doctor. While I have always been a little bit anxious, I knew this was something far more serious. Fast forward to now, I was finally taken seriously after months, only to discover that my issues are potentially related to brain lesion or a herniated disk in my back. If you are a women in NYC with any type of urological issue, please consider seeing Dr. Angelish Kumar instead. She doesn't take insurance, but she is worth every penny and her care and concern may have literally saved my life. read more

I have great confidence in Dr. Hardart. I was referred to her for surgery after my Fertility Dr. discovered a cyst. She is confident and skilled and spent much time discussing my concerns as this was my first time having an operation. She called me after hours to discuss her findings. I have a 2:30pm appointment and asked at 3:15pm if there was a problem. One of the receptionist was so rude (the one with glasses) she said "WELL NEXT TIME if you're coming here, you should allow yourself 2 hours of wait time" How rude & unprofessional is that??? No apology for making patient wait hours, At least be sorry that the doctor is running behind. But this receptionist just kept on talking to the other receptionist and giggling. I mean I know you answer phone for a living but don't they at least require some form of professionalism of some sort to be hired? I guess they didn't need to hire an educational staff, because if she attended school, I sure can't tell. They didn't even take it in consideration the amount of time and effort it took for us to get to their office. Very frustrating. It's now 4:10pm and I'm still waiting. Dr. Hardart & her nurse was nothing but excellent. Even though I waited 2hrs to be seen, my issues was addressed. I would not have been upset if the front desk wasn't so rude. Anyway, I will definitely stay as a patient but will need to buy more patience dealing with 1 of the receptionist next time I come there. read more

Unless you have lots of time and patience, don't waste your time. I can't tell you if she's a good doctor because I finally walked out after waiting 1:51 min. I kept asking how much longer and the people at the front desk kept telling me a "few more minutes, she's running behind". Meanwhile people who came in after me got to see her! Since I was a first time patient I was told it would take me longer. She was just going to "quickly talk" to the other patient. 1:51 mins! Dr Hardart is a stellar physician. She and her staff were totally reassuring, helpful and responsive when I had surgery last year to remove several ovarian and tubal cysts. She is an amazingly skilled surgeon, and I feel incredibly blessed to have had her and her colleagues care at Roosevelt Beth Israel. As a physician, she is also incredibly insightful. When she was recommended to me, over 10 years ago, I had the great blessing of having her help me with a mysterious bladder problem, I had had resurface as an adult after years of dormancy since late childhood. I welcomed the advice she gave and her steady demeanor when handling delicate matters. She is so good she doesn't need to be taking insurance, but she does. I highly, highly recommend her. An appointment with Dr. Hardart is well worth the office wait time. read more

I have been a long time patient of Dr. Hardart. While I appreciate her expertise--except when she was on vacation and had no one covering for her. HER STAFF IS THE WORST. THEY ARE COLLECTIVELY AND INDIVIDUALLY RUDE, NOT HELPFUL AND LACK THE MOST BASIC OF CUSTOMER SERVICES SKILLS. I will be following up this review to the president of Mt Sinai. Dr. Hardart is a wonderful doctor. She has excellent bedside matter. Also, because of her extensive experience, she offers a treatment for my condition that other doctors do not. This being said, I dread going to her office. The office staff is just awful, both in person and on the phone. They are rude and inattentive. They often repeat basic questions multiple times because they don't listen. This would be fine, if they weren't so rude. The waiting times are very long, even with an early morning appointment. My treatment is painful. Combining this with the staff is a very frustrating situation. For this reason, I would not go to Dr. Hardart if was able to find another doctor. Dr Hardart is a great doctor. She is attentive and caring, and generally good with follow up. The only problem with visiting her office is the wait time is always at least 45 minutes, even when your appointment is early in the morning! The secretaries are understaffed and overworked which means they aren't as helpful as they should be all the time. I called to get a simple prescription called in twice and it never happened because they never passed the message on to the doctor. Not great. read more

I have been going to Dr. Hardart for 8 years as she was recommended by my cousin who is in a wheelchair. Dr. Hardart's bedside manner is gentle and sweet and that is why I have been going to her for 8 years. I made an appointment for my annual, and was told that I would be seeing a new NP named Ruby Morales for all annuals, and that Dr. Hardart would be doing surgeries only. No one told me that I would be seeing someone new until the young lady took my blood pressure. She explained that we won't have to wait as long to see Dr. Hardart. I feel they should have told you on the phone during scheduling that you will be seeing someone new. They basically assigned you a new doctor without your permission. The letters were signed were signed by the NP. At the end of the exam, Dr. Hardart came in and said Nice to meet you, and have a great day. I went to her for 8 years and she said Nice to meet you. I felt bad. I waited to see Dr. Hardart for two hours because I felt exceptionally comfortable with her. I wish I could see Dr. Hardart again, but since I am not having surgery. I won't see her. The NP is nice, but she is no Dr. Hardart. I didn't feel comfortable voicing my concerns the way I did with Dr. Hardart. They should send out letters advising their patients not leave them like a deer in headlights when they arrive hoping to see their beloved doctor. They did not handle this well. I loved Dr. Hardart. She's very smart and extremely caring, and pays attention to details. The only thing I don't like is that when you call, most of the time you get voicemail that isn't even specifically directed to anyone and that makes you feel like a lost soul. read more
