Dr Ahn, the folks that work at his office, and the wider Carepoint team were fantastic. This was my first pregnancy and I felt 100% taken care of from the moment I booked my appointment with Dr. Ahns office. Amanda who works at the front desk makes you feel so welcomed and is on top of everything....she sets a great tone for everything. Wait times were very good, and they keep the office flowing, but don't rush you out. Dr Ahn is calm, cool, collective and diligent. He answers all questions throughly and kept my mind at ease through the whole pregnancy. Ultrasounds are at a different office located in Hoboken, but it's all fairly easy to navigate. Giving birth at Hoboken Hospital with the Carepoint team was a fantastic experience and I would certainly do it again. The nurses were all amazing. Dr Ahn wasn't on call the night I gave birth, but the doctor that was there was also great. Great staff, modern yet comfy environment. I didn't have a long wait. My first time there, they treated me and reacted towards me as if I had been there for years. Questions and forms were conducted with respect. Dr Ahn turned out to be as great as the environment and his supporting staff. He's open to questions, a great communicator, and keeps it professional. I have been visiting Dr. Ahn for the past few years and they are amazing. I've never been so cared for especially when I really need them! Dr. Ahn always makes effort to call even on the days he is in the office. And as other reviewers have mentioned he is definitely one of my favorite doctors! If i can do primary care stuff here I always do it lol. I called in because I needed a refill on a prescription. I was worried because online it said it was closed. Maria did inform me that it may be possible Dr. Ahn won't be able to get back to me til Monday and also depending on if he wants another exam which is all completely reasonable. Fortunately it was refillable and Dr. Ahn called me within the same hour to let me know that he was refilling it, and to just check up on everything. Dr. Ahn and his team are brilliant! I went to him for my second pregnancy and he made me so comfortable right from the get go. Amazing bedside manner, very reassuring and just a calm demeanour that I'm sure all his patients appreciate. His team -- Amanda, Ivette, Basirah and the super sweet phlebotomist-- were all so professional and courteous throughout the nine months I saw them, which always made me look forward to the visits. I was never made to wait and always seen on time. Amanda is also excellent at scheduling and keeping things organized at the office, I never once didn't receive a phone call reminder for my appointment! Its surprising to read all these positive reviews. In the beginning he was fine, constant jokes and making light of everything I asked. Dr. Ahn made every appointment after my 20th week extremely uncomfortable for me. I felt every question I asked he had a sarcastic and condescending response. He told me and I quote "I do not call patients" when I asked about blood work I had done as well as the diabetes test. No one ever called with results so when I asked Dr. Ahn about this, he was in complete defense mode, referred me to the patient portal, and reminded me he does not call patients... No doctor has ever said that to me and I grew up with some of the best in Bergen County, NJ. The birth process was never discussed, and I left him well in my 3rd trimester. At one point I asked "is it typical to meet the other doctors in this practice" because there is a high chance they will deliver my baby, **I remind you HE did not mention this, I had to** and he said "oh yeah sure I can give you their office number you can set something up". *My new doctor, this is one of the first things he mentioned to me to make sure I had a high likelihood of meeting all the partners when I am at the hospital* Also, he made a joke by saying "If I don't have to attend my daughters piano practice, maybe I can attend your birth." Maybe this poor attitude would be okay for a second or third time mom, but this was almost unacceptable for a practitioner to be the cause of my stress. I left him crying almost every time after the last few appointments. There was so much more I found out he was NOT doing... With my new provider, there was actual COMMUNICATION being conducted with me. I found out my baby boy had liquid on his kidneys and thats why I was going to ultrasounds so frequently. Dr. Ahn NEVER mentioned this. Last thing to note- the Hoboken Hospital was a terrible experience. We had to go one night for a little scare we had and their ultra-sound machine was broken, they did not have another one. Not to mention the ward felt like a 1970's DMV and had homeless people with urine all over them in the entry. I feel terrible for their situations, but that is not the environment you want to be welcomed to when giving birth I assume. **Fast forward to the end of the story- I call Dr. Ahn to let him know about this experience and how unsettling it was, from his mouth he says "thats normal for equipment to be down". He had an excuse for everything and more than half of them contradicted what the doctor at the hospital said.** I just wanted him to be REAL and say yeah, that is not acceptable. But he could not even do that for us! That was the final straw- if he was accepting poor quality care for me I cant imagine what would of happened when I went into labor and something went wrong. This was one of the worst doctor-patient experiences I have had. He called me the "lowest maintenance" patient of his, so I know I was not expecting a lot. I never called him, these experiences all just occurred throughout my visits. I was expecting decent, informative care and he was not able to provide that to me. When taking the heartbeat or measuring my stomach, he did not tell me ANYTHING he was doing or finding out. It makes me so angry I could have been with a professional doctor this entire time; his behavior really tainted the experience for me. I hope this helps others out there.... I came to Dr. Ahn at 14 weeks pregnant after moving from Atlanta, GA to Jersey City, NJ. It was our first pregnancy and my husband and I were completely nervous moving and switching doctors. Immediately Dr. Ahn made us feel comfortable. He was very approachable and personable. He was patient and always made sure I didn't have any concerns prior to leaving his office. He was extremely confident, knowledgeable, and reassuring!! (Exactly what we needed!) He followed up consistently and immediately on any questions, concerns, and physical complaints. His office staff were extremely friendly and professional and greeted me with a smile each visit. I felt both him and his staff genuinely cared about me and my experience! The absolute worst experience I have had with a gyno office. The office manager/staff when you call in is very rude and always has an attitude. At my annual appointments, I always felt very judged and did not receive follow up feedback in a good manner. I was called on a Friday night two minutes before they close for the entire weekend with a potentially scary voicemail with my results without detailed info that led me to be afraid by what he said and couldn't get a hold of the doctor till Tuesday morning. Everything with the results turned out ok but I did not like the way it was handled or communicated. Then I tried to call to follow up on a bill because the laboratory told me to check in with the office and she gave a very snarky remark "why would you call the office for a lab payment, we don't keep those records here" how the f am I supposed to know when I made payment to someone months ago. I don't know where do I start from, I am a transfer patient during my 4th month of pregnancy..when we approached Dr. Michael ahn office ..he immediately accepted us with out a question and that's what docs should do, make you feel confident and comfortable.. Where in other places first they will ask too many questions and suggest you too many tests before accepting the transfer patients..And Dr Ahn makes sure you and the baby is healthy through out our pregnancy journey and he suggested some amazing doctors like Dr Principe and Dr Mohy kotb.. Dr. Michael Ahn is the man that really cares for his patients. I have been his patient for over eight years and he really knows his stuff. He practically saved my life and help me recover from it when I gave up on trusting OB GYN doctors or doctors. He took the fear away from me that the surgical procedure would be a breeze that he would be there every step of the way. Most doctors don't follow up on there patients but Dr. Ahn was different he followed up to make sure my recovery was going well. I can't say enough how wonderful Dr. Ahn has been during my pregnancy and delivery. He has the warmest personality and excellent manners. Love Dr.Ahn so much that I followed him from his JC location to his Hoboken location to the new building located in downtown JC. Dr. Ahn delivered my son In Aug of 2015. He has great bedside manner, he explains everything he's going to, his email so I could contact at him at anytime, and even a print out of some test results without my even requesting them. This is a SCAM. I called in advance and provided my insurance information, I was confirmed I was fully covered before I go, as I always do. My OBGYN was always covered under my insurance. I just had a regular OBGYN check, chatted with Dr. Ahn for 15 minutes, and I just receive a bill of $239! I didn't receive ANY treatment, they charged insurance $383.32, insurance just paid $144.32, now they are going after me for $239. For just a regular check? read more

I used to go to this practice when I was pregnant: Dr Ahn was very friendly, attentive, professional, all appointments were on time, all other people in the office were very friendly and helpful. Patients can get free courses for pregnant women: preparing for delivery, preparing for parenting, breastfeeding, infant CPR and others. I had to switch to another practice before the delivery as Dr Ahn was associated with Hoboken medical center which was in tier 2 in my insurance plan and delivery there was too expensive for me. read more

I had the pleasure of having Dr. Ahn as my OB/Gyn after going through two other Carepoint Health doctors. Overall I had an excellent experience; he is very professional yet friendly, always honest and to the point about all the questions and concerns I had. Due to my previous birthing experience and bad healing post third degree tear, I wanted elective C-section. I am very glad he was able to talk to me out of it. I was also induced at 38wks due to baby's weight being a concern. My labor and delivery happened much quicker than expected after being induced. All was handled very well and efficiently by Dr. Ahn and his team at the Hoboken hospital. It was definitely an experience we wont forget. Dr. Ahn has an amazing group of people at the clinic as well. Maria is a phenomenal receptionist and assistant to Dr. Ahn who has helped me with moving appointments around, getting all my paperwork done and anything I needed in a timely manner. If you need anything to be communicated with Dr. Ahn she is the person to speak to. Also Maribel was the pregnancy coach who has helped me out a lot. If she didn't know anything right away, she would always find out the answer and communicate in promptly manner. I selected Dr. Ahn due to the great reviews online but regret not picking a female doctor who is more attentive. Nothing against Dr. Ahn's gender but I've found I am more comfortable and trusting with a female OBGYN and will be making the switch soon. Dr. Ahn, in my experience, is too hurried for my liking. He does not communicate enough to put me at ease. For instance, during my annual pap last week, he did not let me know what he was about to do before he did it. Though I've done it a few times before, it's still a sensitive procedure that requires coaching. Also, I got an IUD with him and he was quick to refer me to the internet and some brochures to find information. The IUD insertion was excruciating, something the doc did not warn me about. I could not walk home and was bedridden the rest of the day. Afterwards, I started getting severe panic and anxiety attacks which I had never experienced before. It took me many months to realize the root cause was my IUD. A quick Google search led me to tons of testimonials from women who've had the same IUD (with hormones) as I had and subsequent panic and anxiety attacks. I made an appointment right away to remove it and the panic attacks stopped. During the removal, I asked Dr. Ahn if he was aware of such side effects and he basically said every person is different which I of course know and would appreciate some ownership or comfort in that moment. No info was given about possible increase in panic/anxiety attacks in the IUD brochures, their website, or in our initial consult. Dr. Ahn is quick to shift blame or feign ignorance when he should own up and know more than his patients googling on their own. The front desk is easy to deal with. Maria is kind and knowledgeable. The office and its facilities are clean and the location is convenient. Be aware you will have to fill out a packet of forms every time you enter the office. I've been there several times and cannot remember a visit where I didn't have to fill out forms. No fault of the office but definitely annoying. read more

It's a shame to have to give this Dr. a less than stellar review since most people seem to have had great experiences, but I didn't have the same experience. What I will say is it is a beautiful office, very convenient to reach, extremely quick waiting room time and my initial questions to the receptionist were handled professionally. My visit was a bit different, the Dr. seemed more concerned about how I found him, then me. At some point I even said, do you not want me to come here? My change in insurance left me having to find another Dr which is always difficult and the original replacement had left Carepoint. Coming in was really happy to find a Dr. with such great reviews that took my insurance. After the questioning, the exam was extremely quick (which I was surprised as a new patient). I wanted to address a few things, since he was a new Dr. for me. They told me I would have to pay a co-pay. I opted out of addressing the past medical points because I was there for an annual and I didn't think I should pay additional since I was a new patient. I can get past that though since he is under Carepoint and have noticed this company works in this way (billing for everything vs. old school ways). Dr. Ahn followed up with me after my visit. I needed to come in again and he was pretty good at explaining. However, due to having new insurance and what was covered, I had to call a few times to square things away. By the tone, the receptionist wasn't happy about it. At the end I just decided to go elsewhere. To be fair, I don't think it is a Dr thing. If you have great insurance and are from a different "background", your experience may be different. I guess I was just not the right fit for their office but you should never be made to feel that way. read more

Just had my second baby under Dr Ahn's care and what more can I say but how wonderful the experience has been. He is my favorite doctor in general. The office is clean and modern, the staff is professional and friendly and Dr Ahn is caring attentive and so talented in what he does. I had a few scares and the whole time he assured me and wiped away any fears. He even called me back late on a Friday night to reassure me about some results so I wouldn't be freaking out all weekend long. I completely trust his insights and direction. For my first pregnancy he did not deliver me but I was so happy when I found out he was on call when I went into labor with my second baby. In between the pain and contractions I was jumping for joy to know that he would be there to deliver me and now I have two perfect beautiful girls under his watch. I had endless irrational questions and concerns during my pregnancy and he always managed to put my mind at ease within the first few minutes of each visit.
