The instructors (Jorge, Gerardo y Luis) are outstanding: very patient, professional, and they have a teaching style that immediately builds your confidence. They correct you calmly, explain everything as many times as needed, and truly make sure you learn properly. One thing that really impressed me, and that is not easy to find, is that they offer different packages, and some of them even include the car for the driving test. On top of that, the exam is taken in a calm, low-traffic area, which really helps reduce stress and makes it much easier to perform well. Honestly, deals like this are very rare to find. Thanks to them, I felt fully prepared, calm, and confident on exam day. I knew exactly what to expect and how to handle every situation. My last experience in a five hour class was horrible I fell asleep, the teacher only put on a video , didn't speak and didn't give us any paper or a pen to take notes. However Kat had us all prepared. She encouraged participation, you can tell she has a genuine love for safety. And as a new driver I appreciated that. It kept me attentive and actually wanting to learn. This school is really great, I hate the area but I would definitely come back for anything else I need. I was told to arrive to their office an hour before my test at Starrett. However, the driver didn't arrive to their office until 20 minutes before the test, and then he had to get breakfast, which wasted more time. I was instructed to drive a block away from the test, and was told, "hurry up" to get there in time. We arrived to the test with a couple minutes to spare, and needless to say, I was not in a calm mood. Image tells you, on the parallel park, to put your right hand behind the front passenger headrest as you reverse. DRIVING WITH ONE HAND on the road test is an automatic fail for many examiners. Following Image's instructions, I failed at Starrett and Seaview. The examiners literally hit the passenger side brake of the driving school car as I was backing up to attempt my parallel. I was done before I barely began thanks to Image's instructions. I took my third road test on Staten Island, and used a Staten Island driving school for my car and driver. I was told to keep both hands on the wheel at all times during the test. I nailed my parallel park and passed. My test literally was less than five minutes, close to four. My advice to anyone scheduling a road test in Brooklyn: Avoid Starrett, Coney Island, and Red Hook. Seaview is arguably the easiest test site in NYC. Just know there are wide streets and your three point turn cannot become a near U-turn.

Unfortunately, my experience with this driving school was extremely disappointing and ended up…read morebeing a waste of both time and money. I did receive a refund for my unused portions of the package I paid for. I enrolled as a complete beginner and made that very clear from the start. Instead of receiving patient instruction, I experienced an instructor (Michael) who became frustrated with beginner mistakes and raised his voice during lessons. It was also extremely fast paced for a 20 lesson full package deal. On my third day I was being taught a 3 point turn and parallel parking when I was not comfortable turning onto roads and being centered on roads. There were also communication and scheduling issues. On one occasion, I arrived for what I believed was my scheduled lesson, only to find out the time had been changed without any phone call, email, or text notification. Despite the instructor being available, I spent approximately 40 minutes sitting in the vehicle while he stopped at McDonald's and handled personal matters rather than conducting the lesson. During multiple lessons, the instructor took lengthy personal phone calls while I was in the car, including highly personal conversations that contained inappropriate language. As a student learning to drive for the first time, I expected my instructor's full attention and professionalism, not distractions and personal matters. What ultimately made me decide to leave was being told after only three lessons that my remaining lessons and road test had been canceled because I was allegedly "too nervous." I had attended every lesson, was eager to learn, and had only just begun driving. Although I was offered another instructor, by that point I had lost confidence in the school's professionalism and chose to seek instruction elsewhere. Additionally, while waiting for one of my lessons, I overheard another student discussing a negative experience he had with an instructor named Frank. Under normal circumstances I would not place much weight on another student's experience alone. However, after everything I had personally experienced, hearing another student express similar frustrations further reduced my confidence in the school as a whole. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this driving school.
