I was recommended to come here by some folks I know and I wouldn't pass the recommendation on. Service is kinda poor and the staff just yaps a lot. I was told my food would be ready by a certain time and it took longer than that. And it wasn't even busy. I'm a patient person but also a customer. Almost left because I got things to do and would've rather spent my money elsewhere. Dining room is kinda ug and awkward looking. Bathroom was clean. That's it. I was hoping the food would make up for the weird decor. "She believed she could, so she did" or something like that lol Yeah hard pass on this one.

Here's a simple rundown: Pros: - PORTION SIZE. My God do they load you up - I got the burnt ends for $17. Cons: - There's some flies - Seats are real old - Buffet isn't always open so maybe call in advance if you want that Overall, very good spot to satisfy your appetite in Guthrie.

The menu was very large with lots of choices. We received salsa and chips. A thick white queso was available for purchase. It was very good along with the salsa. We chose a double chicken fajita. We both received a set up of beans, rice, pico, sour cream, guacamole. Then out came a very large platter of fajita meat with onions, peppers, tomatoes. We each received three tortillas rolled up in foil. It was very good. A different kind of small cut up chicken than what I'm used to, but it was cooked very well and plenty of flavor. We would stop in and eat again if in the neighborhood.

If there was ever a restaurant that truly deserved a "mid" review, it is El Rodeo. I have moved…read morefairly close to El Rodeo fairly recently and had avoided going there simply out of perception of the building and what I thought it may be. But living so close, I realized I had to try it at some point so today I did. And guess what? It's exactly what I thought it would be, Mid. Now I'm not saying it was gross or tasted bad, because for something to be offensive or gross, the first prerequisite is that it actually tastes. El Rodeo doesn't. Now in fairness I ordered a pretty plain meal, #8 on the lunch menu (ground beef enchilada and beef tamale with rice and beans) and I added an a la cart carnitas street taco. Every single thing was a 2.5 out of 5. It wasn't awful. It simply was bland. Like white bread, cardboard bland. The carnitas taco was slightly better than the plate but not enough to really speak of. The price? mid. The service? Mid. The dining room and ambiance? Mid. And the food, mid. There was nothing that would make me stay away, and living so close I will certainly go back and try something else. I am rounding up to 3 stars but truly El Rodeo was 2.5/5 if there ever was a 2.5. When I give it another go and try something different. I will of course update my review accordingly, but I'm sure it will all just be...mid.
