Master Tailor was recommended to me by the place where I purchased my wedding dress, and I brought mine and my mom's mother of the bride dress to be altered. They were mindful about cleanliness and vacuumed the fitting rooms each time we needed to try it on, they were respectful, and kind to us. It cost a pretty penny to alter, though I'm unsure how much it costs with other tailors, it cost us about as much as I spent on my wedding dress, just on alterations. The dresses were not ready either time we went in to pick it up -- with a tailor actively working on it and sewing it at our appointment time which was a bit nerve wracking and concerning. Anyways. I had my tux pants altered by another tailor who kept making mistakes and left a pant leg short. On the Friday before my wedding, Master Tailor was able to see me first thing in the morning, make the alterations and fix my pants, all within 3 hours. I desperately needed a new zipper for a much beloved and sentimental coat. Having been gifted the coat, I could afford the cost of replacement for the zipper and still come out ahead. The work on the coat took a lot longer than promised or expected, but the end result was well worth the wait. Of course I looked at the work performed before leaving the shop and noticed one minor detail that was overlooked. The tailor, whom I am assuming is the owner, immediately apologized and took care of the issue. Overall, I would gladly take any items I have for tailoring back to this shop. Got stuck having to tailor suit and pants here. Charged me nearly $700, which is abhorrent for simple hems and letting out the back of a jacket. The service was friendly, but the advice given and the tailor job was just not anywhere near the price paid. The sleeves of the jacket were too short, the shoulders stood up in pictures, the pants were not tapered enough and slightly too short as well. It's just confusing that I had seen mostly good things regarding this place and then they charged that much. It's not like it was poor tailoring itself, just incorrectly done like the chalk marks weren't correct. I know prices have gone up and jacket tailoring can be a few hundred, but $700 is ridiculous for the work that was done. read more

When they say "Masters" they really mean it. My husband had them make a suit for him. He is of small stature due to being Asian. It's very hard to find clothes that fit correctly when you are not the norm in size. The quality is superb, material wise along with the stitching. Very professional, very kind. Terrible! Stay away! First of all, I wish Yelp would allow me to post the photos of the work this guy did. He charged me $80ish for tapering two pants. Let me repeat two pants. The night before my flight to a wedding in Los Angeles, I see that the inner thigh of one of the pants has a huge gaping hole. In LA, I frantically look for hours for a tailor and then pay exactly $80 for fixing the pants (meaning he is charging me the price of a tailor in LA). After the wedding, I come back and ask him about it and he won't believe me. I show him the timestamp of the photos I took and he still can't believe me. He keeps telling me how that it is not possible that could happen and proceeds to insinuate that I caused the gaping hole (yes, because that is exactly what I would do to a suit that I just bought). So I try to reason with him on another coat I have which is an even easier job than my pants he managed to mess up. His offer to me is to do away with the $15 rush fee but charge me $120 ($40 more than I paid last time on two different pants). He completely disregards the time and money I wasted looking for someone to fix the pants the way he should have in the beginning (not to mention the stress he put me through). I will make sure to never give him any of my business or that of my Fort Worth friends. He overcharges for everything and all you get in return is a gaping hole on the side of your pants before your best friend's wedding. Thanks for nothing! read more

We moved to the Fort Worth area about 5 years ago and I discovered this tailor since they were right around the corner from my home. I first took a couple of pants to be hemmed and they seemed to be ok. And then I took my Pottery Barn curtains to be hemmed and they completely screwed them up. The hem is irregular and the curtains still don't hang right. They charged me over $160 for the curtains and I still had to end up taking them again to another tailor. A good tailor becomes one's close confidant - he sees you when you've gained weight, when you've lost weight, when you're flush (and arriving with a 4 figure designer suit), when you're just scraping by (arriving with the "3 for one" sale suits at national chains) and one who, no matter what, strives to make every article you bring him, fit perfectly, and hang correctly. For me, Byron is that close confidant. He's been my tailor since they first set up their shop on Berry Street, (before the turn of the century, when we were both much younger - and trimmer!) and has tailored and altered over 20 suits (sometimes more than once - letting them out a 1/2 inch or so, taking them in, etc), numerous sports jackets, trousers, a dinner suit and two overcoats. I honestly don't know what I'd do without him, and, thankfully, given the numerous positive reviews on Yelp (and elsewhere) won't ever have to find out. Most highly recommended! read more

I am very pleased with my service here! I rarely write reviews but had to for this business for its spectacular service. I needed a bridesmaid dress fixed and have never gotten something tailored before for fear that it would come out botched. The back needed extra fabric (which he had to take from the dress itself and I can't even tell where he took it from) because it was too tight around my chest and he added an extra piece that I could tell took a lot of skill and attention to create and allowed for extra flexibility.
