I was really excited to try this place but unfortunately it didn't hit the mark for me. I called ahead at 5pm to see if they could take me at 6pm. The lady who answered was not very polite. I asked how much it would be if I did Shellac Manicure and Regular Pedicure she said $53, to which I told her I called 1 month earlier and the price was $45 They have about 6 manicure stations which were all pretty busy. They also have 5 pedicure stations at the back ( which are bit old and rusted) Everywhere around the these stations are also very cluttered, lots of boxes and supplies. The pedicure service was just okkk, - They didn't buff or shave my heels - They did use an exfoliating gel, which I've never really seen before. - They didn't do any kind of massage but they did put a hot towel in your feet. The Manicure service was also not that impressive; - They didn't soak my hands at all, but instead she asked me to go over to the sink and wash my hands twice. - She used a cordless sander to file my nails but wasn't very careful and scraped my skin - Lastly, the colour selection for both regular polish and gel polish wasn't that great. Service was ok .. u came to get a fill and one repair. I feel that I was over changed! 41.00 I could have had a full set in Niagara Falls. Been here before and I wasn't charged that much and I paid cash! I was told you'd get 10 to 15% off. It was the third seat from the window. She made change from her purse. Hummm. I didn't have a particularly good experience here. The staff is friendly enough but I really question the cleanliness of this place. I arrived a little early for my pedicure but was taken right away. The nail polish colour selection is mediocre at best but I found something I liked and was led to my chair. The tub was already filled with water but since I was the only person having a pedicure, I was able to see the condition of the other tubs. They all looked like they could use a good scrubbing! Needless to say, I was not impressed. My technician, although really nice, was more interested in watching the television than working on my feet and would frequently pause during filing and massaging to watch it and talk with the other employees. I had to repeatedly ask her to trim my nails shorter because she wasn't paying attention to what she was doing. As she applied various lotions and potions to my toes, feet and legs, the excess was left to drip all over the floor as she placed the squeeze bottles back in her trolley. I just found the lack of care and cleanliness incredible. I was definitely NOT impressed when I was asked to put my bare feet directly on the foot rest of the pedicure chair without a towel underneath them! This salon is nothing like the newer 'high-tech' ones with their fancy UV drying systems... they had me sit back at the front of the store with a little fan pointed at my toes... sure it does the job but it lacks that 'je ne sais quoi', if you know what I mean. When my toes were dry, they removed the little salon slippers and put them in a basket with a stack of others... please tell me they are thrown out and NOT recycled!!!! Once I got home and was able to look more closely at the pedicure itself, I wasn't pleased. There are areas where you can see the brush strokes and where she missed doing a second coat. In my opinion, this salon is rundown and could do with a good cleaning and perhaps a fresh set of towels. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I came to the salon about a month ago to get some nails done before I went away on vacation. I didn't have a lot of time, I couldn't make it back to my regular salon in time, and I used to come to this place all the time when I was in high school. I walked in, and they were relatively busy, but I asked the woman if I could get a set of acrylic nails, and she said yes and asked me if I could wait 10 minutes. Half an hour later, I was about to get up and walk out when another technician finally took me to a station and started to do my nails. Ultimately, the experience of physically getting my nails done with great, she did all some amazing work and I got a lot of compliments on them. So today, I went back to get a fill done because the base set was theirs. I was expecting to frequent this salon since I'm moving into the area and I was happy with the nails. I arrived and they were busy but I asked if they could do a pedicure and a fill. She asked if i had an appointment and I said no. At THAT point (both times) she should have said "we're full up but come back in an hour" or "sorry we're full today". But then the receptionist filled the pedi bath and told me to soak my feet so I assumed they had capacity, wrapping up other manicures and I'd wait 10-15 minutes. And then I sat. For about 30 minutes. No one approached me or said anything. Eventually I caught a technician's eye and she said sorry, but I was done. Just tell me its going to be half a hour wait BOTH times. I would have just come back later or another day. I want to like this salon. It's expanded and been renovated. They smartly have the uv nail boxes built into the nail benches. But the chair I sat in today was broken. There's no communication with the customer. I want to like it. But I just can't. The service is poor and my experiences haven't been good enough for me to say otherwise. Can't recommend right now. read more

I walked in looking to get some shellac removed from my nails... there were a few people being looked after so I waited to see if anyone could assist me and nothing. The staff that was there did not ask if I needed anything, didn't seem to care that they were going to loose business just went about their day. i'm not sure if this is how the establishment runs their location but i'm not impressed and will not be coming back. read more

The only reason I'm even giving them a star was because they were polite on the phone. Let me see hmm, their polish selection is piss poor like no good colors if you do manage to find a decent colour you like it's such bad quality polish you need like 3 coats to cover the nail then they are so messy with the polishing it looks like my 3 years old did my nails. And they didn't even clean up around the nail. You point out the mess they clean the part you point out but not the whole damn toe. I only went in for a polish change which is $10 and I'd never even let then clean polish off my nail again. Never again, do yourself a favour and find a different salon trust me. Unfortunately, this is my 3rd nail salon I've tried in Pickering and it was not great. I've recently moved from Mississauga, and I had really high hopes because of the 5 start ratings that came up, but I now think those are preferred regulars that left those reviews. It's not the most warm and welcoming environment and I didn't feel comfortable after my nails were done to say I didn't like them. I specifically called and asked for an advanced nail tech that did frech and nail designs. I struggled to explain to the tech what I wanted and overall felt that I was an inconvenience for the business. I think I would have preferred some honesty and to be sent away rather than have a sloppy nail job done $50 later. My nails have bubbles, the design isn't great and overall, it doesn't look nice. Definitely will continue my search for a nail place in Pickering but for now I'll have to make the trip to Mississauga and go to my regular place where they don't make you feel crappy, and they actually do listen to what you need. Advice if you have recently moved to Pickering stick with your old nail place as there are no good places in Pickering. read more

Terrible experience at this salon, the owners and staff have their specific clients and they prioritize them even when you book an appointment. Twice I've had to wait over 20 mins and watched them take their regular customers ahead of me even when I had an appointment. Their quality of service is average at best and their clear bias for their regular customers is very apparent in the experience you have at this salon. I've been to this place a few times already and now after several mediocre pedi's and mani's I've decided to not go back. Here is why: -last time I was there, one of the staff was busy making dumplings (she was actually spreading out the wrappers and bent over a large bowl of filling!) at one of the nail stations. YUCK! and is this not a public health issue?? -Paid extra for a shellac manicure that is supposed to last for at least 5-7 days, went back after it chipped the very next day and they wanted to charge me to re-do -The cleanliness of the place is hit or miss. 1st time I visited it was ok, second and third time I noticed that things may not be sanitized properly, especially the nail clippers, bottles used to hold the lotions and the towels. read more

I went to check out this nail salon since it's close to my house and it was a blizzard that day. HUGE mistake. I walked in, asked for an acrylic full set, they said they didn't do acrylic- only bio gel. I accepted and sat down only for them to proceed to give me acrylic nails, and then charge me a gel nail price. Even worse, two of my nails were completely crooked. Very disappointed with this place. They charged me for UV gel but gave me acrylic after telling me they do not do acrylic nails. Yet she never once put my hand under the UV light to harden them as you're suppose to. Then They charged me extra because my nails were long even though it was just a fill. And 3 of my nails have broken within 1-2 weeks of getting them done. The quality is just horrible for the prices they charge. Will not be going back even though I live across the street. I've been to this location a few times for manicures thinking it will be better than the last visit but I'm left disappointed each time. The most recent visit they did a shellac removal and a manicure, I found the customer service lacking, pausing to watch TV instead of focusing on my nails, and giving a sense of inconvenience that I was a customer. As for the work performed, I had concerns on the electrical file used and damage to my nail but was told it is necessary although I have had shellac removed before without an electrical file. My nails were left pretty rough not smooth, and there were no oils or lotions used, very basic manicure. have had much more favorable experiences in other salons and needless to say I will not be returning to this salon despite the location convenience, its just not worth it. read more

Master nails and spa, the one in Pickering in the amberlea plaza, was not a great experience at all! DO NOT GO!! When I went to get my nails done on a Thursday they were super nice, I even tipped big. About 4 days into having the ballad done, it started to chip so I called and the lady said to come in she needs to see my nails. I came in the day after I had called but I had already peeled all of the shells off, which you shouldn't be able to do so easily after not 5 days, because I work in a business I need to look presentable and I was not keeping my nails in such condition. I did take pictures of my nails peeling. I went in and spoke kindly to the lady at first but than she had the nerve to tell me they can't do anything about it even though she saw the condition of my nails and te pictures of them peeling. I was there for an hour trying to explain that hellac should not come off after not 5 days the way it did. I had gotten them done elsewhere and I never had this issue! She told me to go back to that place and get it done so I asked for a refund and she refused the refund or to just redo them. She offered regular nail polish to be done but my point was that I did not pay for regular nail polish originally I paid for shellac! Than to disrespect me she offers me $10 for a $25 job! That $10 offered was 3 quarters of the tip I had given the las who had originally did my nails! She was so rude! I saw a different side to them that I did not see when I went to get my nails done a few days ago. It was extremely poor customer service 110% I know how shellac works I know many people who get them done but she had the nerve to tell me shellacs are different. Um no they aren't! They are all the same unless she has fake shellac. I would never ever go back again and I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Ontop of all of this the lady said she has never heard of complaints yet hen I read somebody the reviews, I see a few complaints and I know a couple people who had it out with them as well but I found this out after the fact I had gone, had I known, I would have not stepped close to that place. This place is by far the worst nail salon there is. If I could give it zero stars I would. Mimi is by no means a nail tech. I asked for coffin shaped nails and my hands look they belong in a coffin. My nails are all different sizes and shapes it's awful. I asked to get a polish change to my toe nails as well and mimi starts painting my toes without clipping them and filing them down to make them even. Absolute nonsense. They don't have the colours advertised on their colour swatches so I had to settle for a colour that I did NOT want. I got my brows waxed as well she was rushing and my brows don't look like they were done at all. Lastly she's not neat at all. All around the corners of my hands and feet is nail polish. I wish I didn't pay the ridiculous price of 70$. They're over priced for no reason because they're all shitty nail techs with no type of customer service. Do your self a favour and don't waste your time at this place. You're better off giving yourself your own mani-pedi. read more
