Great family run small shop: good quality work for an honest price. I wasn't sure if I need brakes with 49k miles on a 2021 Camry so I stopped in and was immediately greeted by the owner. Told him the situation and he put it right up on lift and check everything out including suspension components. He showed me how worn the front brake pads had become and recommended replacing them along with the rotors due to a couple hot spots that had developed on the rotors which I could see when he pointed them out. He said back ones still had lots of life in them (he didn't try to sell me something I didn't need, so I appreciated that very much and earned my business for sure) his technicians got to work on my car and they were able to get everything done in about 1 hour including parts delivery; I was back on the road with piece of mind not only safe but great value for the money which is hard to find these days! When she needs new suspension components around 60/70k I will for sure be back here for that as well! Great job guys! read more

I needed front brakes per the Honda Dealer. I was quoted $379 for front brake pads. So on a whim when I had a day off - I called this place and they could get me in right away. Great service with a quick but shocking quote. They said front and rear brakes and replace the Rotors as well for $1140. I have a 2018 CRV. I didn't really need the rear brakes done yet - but I felt like I could get this errand done right then and there and not deal with brakes again for another 5 years hopefully? Communication was not as clear as it could have been. Great work I believe I may have been overcharged because some parts that were replaced were not shown to me in-depth beforehand. Of course I paid the replacement and installation fee. My truck got taken here by Dave from Army mechanics, the work completed here looks like crap, and has holes in the area welded. On top of this there is still wire hanging from the welds which tells me the person who welded this did not care to clean up his trash he laid down. I paid 180 for the sub-par work and wanted a refund because it needs to be cut out and fixed. The owner said he would refund 100 but not my full amount because "it doesnt work that way"  i told him i was going to inform the 15.4k people who have been following my truck build on youtube because i didnt want someone else to get into the same position i am in. He robbed me for 80 bucks and he knows his work looked like crap. Please see pictures for verification. DONT USE "MASTER MUFFLER" this place caused more harm than good to my truck. Well... got the 50 series Magnaflow that sounded the worst in the cab of my 2014 GMC Z71 Sierra after the install. Keep in mind I have really good hearing. After the back and forth with the owner he finally steered me in the direction of the 70 series which was better.. They took off the 50 series with a slight charge and replaced it with a 70 series Magnaflow. I highly recommend researching the decibel levels before you buy. So I don't know where to begin, this shop is amazing. From the moment I walked thru the door I was greeted and helped right away. I went in to have my brakes checked due to recent squeaking. My vehicle was test driven and inspected. I was walked to the back and shown my current pads and the rotor, even learned a few things I wasn't aware of. All in all I got my rear brakes and rotors replaced and brake fluids flushed. I work not far from the shop so I was given a ride to work while my car got worked on. Work got extremely busy for me and I knew I wouldn't be able to pick up my car before 5. I called the shop, they charged me over the phone and delivered my car at work!! Seriously, the customer service is by far the best I have come across in a very long time. My pet peev is poor customer service so when I get exceptional service you better believe i'll be back when I need more work done. If you're looking for a straight-up honest guys to work on your car. This is the place. Called around North County for a Catalytic Converter Shield install and, all had given me the run-around. It ranged from can't do it, half a day's work to I really need to have a look at it to do it professionally. These guys said "yeah, let's have a look and see what we can do. Drove in, they looked at the work and suggested better ideas on how to do it. In the end, less than an hour later got the best and most honest service. horrible service. had them install a new CAT on my integra. after "Brick" (i guess he's the manager/ owner) reversed my car out of the car lift car, he ripped the left side off of my bumper. so it was just hanging loose. took it back in and some what put it back together but the flanges were broken. after a couple of weeks i start hearing a rattle noise, so i took it back in and it was the heat shield on the CAT which i guess was loose when first installed. so he took it back out and it still rattles and it was the resonator and not the CAT i agree with yelp user RJ A. If you are interested in having muffler work done.......look elsewhere! I went to this shop to have cat back exhaust put on my new truck. Guy was friendly and seemed very knowledgeable. The price was a bit higher than what I usually pay at a couple of other shops I have been going to for the last 10 years but I wanted to try this shop out because it was local to me and had mostly good reviews. The installation went on without any issues but when I got the truck home, I noticed one of the newly installed tips was sticking out further than the other. They also let the pipe run a little long on one side so you could see it inside the tip. I took the truck back and explained that I was not happy with the work and asked if they could fix it. The guy immediately became defensive and said he has never had anyone that was not happy with his work. He could not believe that someone would question the quality of his work. I showed him how the pipe was sticking through the tip and he said it would eventually turn black and not be as noticeable. That was his response for poor quality work? I gave them 2 stars because he did end up making both pipes the same length and fixed the tip. When I got home I crawled under the truck to check the work and found that the welds were not clean/smooth and looked like it was done by an amateur. I checked a few of my vehicles that were done previously by a different shop to make sure I was not just being too picky. Definitely not the quality weld other shops provide. Seeing how upset he was I did not bother going back to him again. I should have checked before I left. Our family has had exhaust work done on more than 12 vehicles in the last 10 years and never had an issue. It is too bad because I was hoping I had found a local business that I could trust to start taking my vehicles for brakes and exhaust work. I certainly will Not be going back there again! read more

I had purchased accessories from Off Road Warehouse a while back. I went in and asked them about putting more aggressive mufflers on my 2012 V6 Camaro. ORW referred me to Master Brake & Muffler, who they use often. I first spoke with Brick, the owner. He showed me several options for mufflers with a couple recommendations: FlowMaster's Super 40, and a knock-off brand of FlowMaster's Original Series 40. He explained the ins and outs, pros and cons, and gave me the prices. He also gave me options for exhaust. He answered all my questions and gave me enough information to make a decision. I returned the next day and asked for FlowMaster's Super 40, and chrome exhaust. They had everything on hand and ready to go. They quoted me 2 hours, but called me 1h40m later. I picked up my car, revved up, and it sounds great!! Brick's recommendation was perfect. Exactly what I was looking for. So far I'm happy with their service and the work they performed. Before writing this review, I checked out some of the others. I feel like the complaints about their customer service should be taken with a grain of salt. This is a father-son mechanic team. It's a small business run by the mechanics. If you go somewhere else, you'll speak with someone hired for their people skills, or someone trained to sell you something specific, perhaps not what you actually want. Master Brake & Muffler is there to help you make a decision, and then to do the work. That's what you should be looking for.
