On my way to work a couple months ago, my exhaust clamp failed and my exhaust pipes separated and were dragging on the floor. I immediately made my way over to Joor to hopefully get the pipes welded so that I wouldn't have to worry about the clamp failing. In theory a quick fix for them. When I got there and explained my situation the older office guy said he would charge me $250 JUST to rack it. $250 to lay some wood planks down in case it was too low. My pick up is a bit low but not that low. I was shocked and didn't know what to say when he told me that. I decided that was ridiculous and left. I was glad I did because I went around the block to a different shop that's right across the street from city hall, that has the exact same style of drive on ramps, they didn't hesitate to take on the repair and did it in 15 ish minutes for $50 out the door. If Joor was charging me $250 to rack it, I wonder what they would have charged for the weld job. read more

Made an appointment with the manager, Nick, in person for Monday morning. Arrived at 8:30 am Monday and talked to Nick and asked him directly if he was ready for my 58' Ford Fairlane. He said absolutely and directed me to the office to fill out necessary paperwork. I left the car and waited for a phone call with cost estimate - no call Monday. Waited until closing on Tuesday - no call so I called them. They had not looked at it yet but was told they would get to it on Wednesday. I dropped in on them Wednesday and the car still haven't been looked at! Donny, working in the office, informed me it was in the "LOOP" but didn't know when they would get to it. I advised him that if I didn't get an estimate by close of business, I would retrieve my car and go elsewhere. An hour later they called me and said come pick it up, they weren't going to work on it because I was rude! Nick is a liar and obviously not in control of the workload! I'll never go back and I hope anyone who reads this will think twice! read more

The communication with explanation of the issues with the vehicle was top notch. I was even given a courtesy ride home, and collection when the work was completed. They threw out my current mufflers without asking first. When I realized they weren't with me, I called them back to see if I could come pick them up and they told me that they usually throw them out unless the customer asks to keep them. Every other shop I've been to always holds on to the old parts and usually puts them in the trunk. They did a good job with installing the new mufflers, though. Unfortunately, losing my parts left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

A few years ago, my car was damaged when some coworkers were involved in a car accident before work. Today I went to a nation wide "muffler" shop that rhymes with shmidas, and was told that they cant repair a small crack on my exhaust because "it's too big to put on a lift" and that I should "take it to a muffler shop". I said, arent you a muffler shop? They said, well not exactly, we remove and replace mufflers. But I digress, they still said they cant do a simple weld job. They referred me to another shmidas and said it would cost $150 to do literally 3 welds, 1 inch long each. I said, pack sand. I called up a small muffler shop called Joor Mufflers in Escondido, and they said, absolutely they can fix it, just bring it down. Honestly I dont care how much it will cost for them to fix it. Within reason of course. Btw, it only cost me $40. Now this isnt the first time that I've been told no, or it's too hard, or that it absolutely cannot be done by these larger mechanics shops. I've been doing mechanical work on my own for about 25 years. Most times I dont have the right equipment or the space to do a job and have to source it out to a shop. I know what goes into that certain job, and I know the steps involved. So being told that it cant be done pisses me off, because I absolutely know it CAN be done, but apparently laziness is a common trait for the bigger guys, or they have better stuff to do. So, moral of the story is, dont always trust taking your vehicle to a big name shop. You will most likely get better service, a lower price, and generally a better customer experience with the smaller guys. Joor muffler, I salute your willingness to do the small jobs just to satisfy your customer, and not worry about me taking up precious bay space for a larger job. These guys are great! I've dealt with Andrew and Leo multiple times and on different vehicles. I took my 1964 Ford Galaxie in to have the Mufflers replaced with glass-packs. They did it exactly as I asked and the way it looks from the rear looks completely stock! We had exhaust work done on our Mercedes CL55 AMG and more recently the passenger side manifold replaced on our Lincoln Navigator. They are up front and work with you on price and time. I called earlier in the week to schedule my service truck to get exhaust leak fixed. I was told to bring it in at 8 am on saturday and to bring it in early so it would cool off. I arrived at 550 am. At 8 am Leo showed up at work and right away said he wasn't going to work on my truck because they can't lift it up and his knees are hurting. Keep in mind they already seen my truck a week prior when my son and I was there getting an exhaust on his vw. They gave me a quote at that time. So Jeff tells me I didn't talk to him when we called in. So let me get this straight because they can't communicate with each other they lost not only around 400.00 for the leking exhaust but I also need them to replace my starter probably around 300.00 and install a new muffler possibly 300.00 that looks like 1,000.00 to me.
