At this point, I'm expecting this pizza must be better than anything else I've ever tasted. Unfortunately, not so much. The pizza was huge - I give it that. A medium was more like a large/extra large at other places. It's not the best NY style pizza I've ever had, but it wasn't the worst. The garlic knots were interesting -- VERY heavy on the butter/garlic topping stuff - so much so it cakes the bottom of the pan. I can see why that would appeal to a lot of folks, but for me and my kids, we found it to sort of just make the knots soggy and mushy instead of that nice balance of dough crisp bread and flavor. Overall, probably on the 3 1/2 star scale for me with the wait/service issues and mostly average flavor.

Two things I want to highlight about my visit here on 7/17…read more First, we arrived very late after my sons' performance for the town in 100 degree heat. We were both overheated and hungry. The dining room was closed but, after speaking to the workers and manager, they let us stay and gave us great service. Most restaurants probably would not have accommodate us and we were grateful for the hospitality. Second, the pizza was fantastic. We got a large with half sausage and it looked and tasted like the pizza I grew up on in NJ. I look forward to going back and trying more offerings in the future.

The original counter is in the back and is covered up by pizza boxes and a large Italian ice cooler in front of it. The tables and chairs are not organized, and I feel like the "order desk" should be on the other side of the restaurant so the employees don't "cross over" the entire dining floor to get to the pizza ovens. One employee had on flip flops, I kind of feel like that violates some rules about going into the kitchen. Ordered two slices and a soda. They did not have fountain drinks, only "cans" of soda. The meatballs on one slice and the sausage on the other slice weren't undercooked, but they had no "char" on them like they were cooked. Pizza was good, probably the best pizza for Benson. I think they need to re-adjust the layout, get a fountain soda machine, and they might do okay.

So I call back they lady is extremely rude speaking over me I could barely get a word out she saying oh well that's their meat sauce. Why not specify on the menu that you don't actually have meat sauce but marinara topped with dry ass pizza sausage???! The manager was nice and let me trade it for a lasagna.
