This one was worth the trip. A BBQ buffet, and with an airport view? Bruh. Heck yeah, sign me up…read more Walking up the building and taking the elevator was an experience. You can smell the barbecue smoke getting up to the third floor, and it immediately gets the appetite going. They set up an awesome buffet loaded with delicious options. I'm talking cheesy and NOT DRY mac and cheese, perfectly golden and amazing hush puppies, juicy fried chicken, tender pulled pork, BBQ pork chops with tons of flavor and amazing chicken thighs. The salad bar is fresh and perfect for something lighter on the side. The hush puppies and Mac and cheese were serious standouts. Cornbread was ok, and the peach cobbler was a great close to the meal. Beyond the food, the views looking right out over the strip are amazing. They have a great bar to sit back and relax, and the service is super friendly and welcoming from the moment you walk in. It's easily one of the coolest fly-in spots around for a laid-back meal. I'd come back.

The second best bacon cheeseburger I've had in my LIFE…read more Someone local recommended this place to us so we checked it out. I wasn't too excited because it's not the type of place I'd usually pick, but I went to go along with the group. It ended up being the best place we went during the whole visit to Raleigh. First off, the biscuits and hush puppies they bring out to start were so good. They were better than the biscuits we had at breakfast at a nearby restaurant that actually specializes in biscuits, and the honey butter was intensely flavorful. I just ordered the 4 sides because I'm not a big meat person, and while they were good, once I tasted the cheeseburger someone else at the table ordered, I ended up stealing it from him. They grind the beef for the burger in house, and the quality of the meat is top notch. The service was also 10/10. I don't normally notice or care about service since I'm just in it for the food, but this is one of the few restaurants where I felt genuinely welcomed in. I will absolutely be prioritizing coming back here again next time I'm visiting.

The brisket was a little fatty for me yet I like my brisket lean. And the pulled pork was tasty. Also, the deviled eggs for appetizers are a must get The service was good very fast to get your food out and the ambience was your cute. Typical Carolina barbecue restaurant.

Staple of southern bbq. Been many many times, and always great. Chicken livers, bbq chicken,…read morechopped bbq, vegetables. Such a wholesome place with wonderful wait staff. It's a place that transports you to a time when the area was a much slower pace, and the Yankee traffic was all but nonexistent. I love this place.

I was watching "Five Heartbeats" when John Witherspoon said something about a fried gizzard…read moresandwich with lots of hot sauce. So I paused the movie and got in the car. It was dead inside but gradually filled up during my half hour there. The place had a very down home feel, if you know what I mean. My order didn't take particularly long, but the take-out scene seemed more popular than the sit-down. Almost like nobody wanted to wait. I get that. The string beans and cabbage were as routine as possible. Seemingly no different than what you'd find at Cracker Barrel or a Bob Evans. But the hush puppies were some of the best I've ever had. Soft and flavorful on the inside; firm, with a mild crunch on the out. They didn't have the sandwich I wanted so I asked for a bun to make my own. And I did. I went in expecting to mix hearts with gizzards but instead they offered livers. I made due. I won't do that again. The iron flavor is too much. Next time, I'll stick with gizzards. They were good. Especially with lots of hot sauce. Best, A.
