Well I don't give 1 stars ever but. First wings were great no complaints, my wife liked the pizza and i will say it was ok. Daughter ordered a Caesar wrap she bit in a found middle of chicken raw pink, the cheese sticks were cooked in very old oil, you could tell before tasting. One of the worse experiences in my life. The staff was not friendly and were all out of sorts when we came to pick up our order. Every customer was waiting an exceptionally long time. When we gave them our name to pick up, it seems like they didn't even make our order and just started. We wasted an hour of our time just to receive one of the worse pizzas I have ever experienced. They clearly rushed and gave us food which I would classify as unacceptable. Children in third world countries wouldn't even accept this garbage. Never again! read more

What a great little place! Stopped in today for a quick lunch which was basically a quick two slice and a half/half iced tea. Walking in I was quickly greeted, placed the order for less than $6.00!!! Place reminds me of a little hole in the wall dig one would find in South Philadelphia, Newark, NJ or pick a place in Brooklyn. The slices did not miss. Three finger fold, crisp bottom and the right amount of cheese. Ok you don't have the water down here but remember it does say New York "Style". Will be back for sure! read more

I do not normally write reviews but I feel strongly enough to share my experience this time. I ordered 3 Stromboli and a pizza and expected the bill to be about $30 to $35. Instead, I was hit with a total of almost $50. When I said that was not in total on the website, I was told that it was not their site. Oddly, it listed their number, which is how I called the order in in the first place. It also occurred to me that no total for my order was given. This is not how I conduct myself in business, and I will not do business with companies that are ok with this. Order if you must, just be prepared for a surprize. read more

I followed the NJ girls advice (Jen A) after her review. Although I have also relocated from NJ & had five other pizzas in Clayton within the last two months here, so far this place is the winner. We ordered an 18" pizza to have there with a spinach & mushroom calzone this evening. The calzone was really tasty as it was cooked to perfection & topped with garlic and oil. So it was like a garlic knot ( where I come from) stuffed . The only downfall was minimal, I mean minimal ricotta cheese, maybe 1/2-3/4 for my calzone which I must say disappointed me (see pic). The pizza was a wee bit salty which may be in the sauce. Now to be fair I do not salt really anything so take my comment in stride. I like my pizza thin & crispy but forgot to relay that when I ordered. However, the pizza was cooked right, tasty & very good for area. With 2 Soda's from fountain cost 23 beans. It is a Pizza place with booths & tables so dress is not an issue . I will go back & try the pizza thin & crispy! I was surprised not to see any menus around so I took pic of black board. We ordered our pizza well done, it came barely cooked with raw dough in the center. We are a garlic loving family, we put garlic in everything. Oh my garlic...the penne Alfredo sauce was over powered by garlic, and the consistency of water. My husband and I just moved to the Clayton area. We have gotten pizza here three times already and it is absolutely delicious. However today I called to place an order for delivery and whoever answered the phone answered can you hold on a minute and I was on hold for over four minutes. I hung up and called again and the same man answered the phone and said hold on again. I waited and hung up and called back and he said the same thing. No hello or thanks for calling just hold on! I got mad because you don't answer a professional business where customers pay money for your food by saying hold on rudely! I asked for his name he refused to give me his name I asked for a manager he said that nobody would want to talk to me. He said if I wasn't going to place an order then he was going to hang up the phone. He hung up on me and I called back and requested to speak to a manager and he hung up on me again! I called back again and he yelled at me and said ma'am I don't have time for this right now! Then he said why are you so entitled!! I hope The manager sees this review and I would love to be contacted because this is unbelievable!!! I have never in my life been treated like this. This is not the way you should be treated by an employee who works in customer service and let alone takes orders over the phone and greets customers in such a horrendous way! He would not give me his name And said that I was weird for asking that but today is May 19th and I called at 5:40 PM in the afternoon. I don't care how good the food is! We finally made it to Primo Pizza Friday night. They are located in downtown Clayton in the space formerly occupied by Lucky Chicken. They have about a dozen tables and it definitely has a old time pizzeria kinda vibe. For me, a take-out kinda place. The pizza was pretty good. Thin to medium crust, nice flavor to the sauce and they don't skimp on toppings. I'm not an authority on authentic NY style pizza but, I thought this was a pretty good pie. Service was friendly and efficient and our take out order was ready when promised. They have a pretty ambitious menu with most of the "Italian" standards. We'll definitely be back. read more

Got it back to the office and there was pepperoni in the cuts.. and you could see the circles where they CLEARLY took pepperoni off of the pizza.
