Great find... drove into Clayton on a late Saturday afternoon and wanted to eat before heading to where I was staying and found this recommendation on my "healthy food near me" search. It was a perfect choice. I love the inside decor and ambience. Felt like I was at an expensive high end restaurant without the prices having you to take out a mortgage. The food was amazingly freshly made the service was awesome without a long wait. I can't wait to go back and enjoy it with my daughter and granddaughter. We stopped in here many months ago on a whim of a recommendation from another dude with a pizza biz. So glad he didn't gatekeep! Luna quickly became our #1 favorite place to eat. Simple, fresh, delicious ingredients. This is literally the only place I've enjoyed spaghetti and meatballs. Like seriously. Who goes out for spaghetti and meatballs? Apparently I do, at least once a week, across the table from my lovely husband who sticks to his usual pepperoni pizza. Everything but the pasta here is made in house. Delicious! Speaking of pizza... They do this eggplant pizza that will blow your mind. Paper thin lightly breaded and pan fried slices of eggplant atop a pizza with your choice of red or white sauce. I recommend the white sauce with a side of Pomodoro to get the best of both worlds. They've got this sandwich called "the cannon", which is basically a meatball sub on a pizza folded in half. Usually restaurant meatballs are trash. They are delicious here and that thing will fill you up and then some! You can even do a couple of apps like small plates as your meal. They have an eggplant dish that's incredible! And the dressed greens are so tender and fresh! Drinks are yummy. Try a Hugo Spritz, it's my favorite! Oh ya, and the staff is awesome, too! Friendly, attentive, and consistently on point. Have never had a bad experience here. Heck, they even remade a whole entire pizza for me because THEY weren't happy with the way it came out. Who does that? Luna Pizza! The vibe in here in cool, too. I always say that I feel like I'm dining on vacation because this place is just fun, hip, fresh, and delicious like the places I usually find abroad. Come here. Enjoy! read more

We finally got the chance to check out Luna Pizza and really enjoyed everything that we got! Their menu sounded really good so it was hard to choose. Their cocktail menu was also really intriguing - we'll have to go back to check it out! We got the single order of the Panzanella Salad and it was really nice and refreshing. It had tomatoes, cucumbers, green onions, house croutons, mozzarella, salami, white balsamic vinegar, and olive oil. It was the perfect refreshing compliment to our Crisp Eggplant Pizza! The pizza was topped with a tomato or white sauce (we chose tomato), mozzarella, breaded eggplant slices, shaved Parmesan, and fresh basil. To round out a great meal, we got the Tiramisu. It came served in a cup which we found unusual for a tiramisu, but boy was it good! It was cookies, mascarpone, whipped cream, espresso, chocolate, and marsala. You could really taste the espresso and the cookies soaked everything in beautifully. So glad that Luna opened up in Clayton and we hope to be back soon! read more

We tried Luna Pizza Cafe on a cold January Saturday. The restaurant has lots of windows and a polished concrete floor, so it was very chilly inside. Our server was very attentive, helpful, and kept our drinks filled. For an appetizer, we got the meatballs and pomodoro. An order consisted of 3 large meatballs, with a tiny bit of cheese on top of each meatball, served with pomodoro sauce. The meatballs were warm, moist, and had just a hint of heat. This was a fantastic appetizer. Highly recommended! The shiitake and sausage pizza was a bit of a letdown. The crust really didn't seem like Neopolitan pizza crust; it did not have high edges and I thought it was really too yeasty and dense. The pizza also seemed like it had been cooked a lot longer than 60-90 seconds as it had extensive charring on the top and the bottom to the point where the predominant flavor was charred crust, not sausage, mushrooms, cheese, or sauce. Our pizza also arrived at the table just warm, instead of hot. If I returned to Luna Cafe Pizza, I would be tempted to try the Spaghetti and Meatballs instead of the pizza based on this experience. read more

Luna was an unexpected gem. I was looking for somewhere to eat late on a Thursday night and I thankfully found Luna. The vegan pizza was delicious. The crust was light and crisp and the veggies were fresh and delicious. The service was prompt and friendly and I was in and out really quickly. Great spot. I'll be back! read more

This is artisan pizza so don't come in here expecting Domino's or authentic Italian. The dough is unique here unlike any dough I've tasted. The atmosphere is high-class but the prices are super reasonable. Try the Tiramisu after your meal- it does not disappoint. read more

I am not the biggest fan of ordering from places I haven't ordered from but tonight I gave this spot a try and am SO glad I did! I was craving a good pizza and my favorite place doesn't deliver to where we live. I did some of the Google, and went with Luna in Clayton. I ordered via DoorDash and got the mushroom appetizer, meatball appetizer, and Margherita pizza. I was impressed by ALL of this. The mushrooms were so good, they seemed to have a truffle flavor. Fresh and flavorful. The meatball appetizer came with three; perfectly seasoned and cooked, and delicious. Lastly, the pizza. Did I find another favorite pizza spot? There are various "types" of pizza, your Italy style, NY style, Chicago style, wood-fired, etc. This is up there with Italy/wood-fired and I already want it again! It's pretty small, big enough for one person (at least if I'm eating it), but so worth it. The crust was so good! I would love to try Luna in person so I could have the pizza fresh, but either way, I am impressed! read more

We had the mushrooms and the meatballs for appetizers. They were both very tasty and well seasoned. We then got a green salad for the table. The greens are hydroponically grown and delicious. Next we got pizzas, Jalapeño and bacon, Greek, and something with Arugula all over it. They were all great. I like the wood fired pizza crust, thin and crispy with a little char. Then to top it off we got panna cotta and a tiramisu dessert. Delicious! Staff was very nice, no complaints at all. Cannot wait to come back. Been here twice now. It's a little pricey for the portion size. The ingredients are fresh though which is great. The pizza needs to be done more and be crispier. The biggest gripe is that everything is WAY TOO SALTY!!! Please let the good food speak for itself. read more
